Just keep in mind, the blue circle means PVP and green PVE.


Rewards for each contract will be a skin recipe and a specialist coin. You need these specialist coins to exchange in Blue Ridge and receive the Specialist Crate.


Keep in mind, you have to accept the missions through the missions tab while being on the Colorado map.

Astride - Raidho Games
Hi everyone and happy Friday! We've been busy developing Astride these last couple of weeks (as usual) and we do of course have some work in progress to share with you!



Tweaking skinning
Lately we have been busy remaking animations after updating our rig. This has opened up the opportunity to go over the old animations and make them better. Because of this we have revisited the basic animations first like the walk here, where we lifted the body more as the rig allowed it more than the original. We also got to adjust faults that have been on the back burner for months, like the timing between front and back legs and the back movement. While working so long on one thing it is easy to not be able to see flaws that you are not directly working at, and posting work in progress to our discord got some new eyes to look and notice a skinning flaw that we got to fixing fast.




Jumping animation
As we got to more advanced animations we got a perfect opportunity to show our updating workflow from old movement with deleted leg bones and remaking the animation as much as we could during a stream. You can see we got quite far during our stream, even with some tangents.




The start of horse colors
As announced on Discord, we have a technical artist working freelance to create a custom horse shader for our horses. We revisited the UV map of the horses and decided it needed an upgrade to work better with the game itself and the shader. This means that we start from scratch with colors again, but it also opens up for creating more detailed layers. There will be an article on our Patreon page in not too long about this. In the GIF above, you can see two chestnut coat variants and the equivalent coat with black and agouti. This means that if Astride has 6 different shades of chestnut/red, there will also be 6 different shades of bay/agouti. There will also be a couple more agouti versions. One with more black and one with less. This will bring the total bay/agouti combinations up to 18 different shades of bays. More and more modifiers and dilutions are being made, such as the mealy/pangare bay shown in the top left collection as well as the buttermilk buckskin in the bottom right corner.




Player stable
Last time you saw a small piece of the stable textures, and this time the outside textures are done! Our vision was to make something that would make you, as players, feel that you are at an old stable that could need some love and care from you. Whether you choose to maintain the look or do a total renovation is up to you. This stable has 10 stalls available as it stands now. That should be enough for the first phase of the early access. Even though this iteration of the stable is done, it does not mean that the journey is over. Who knows what other stables you will get in the future!




First look at dogs
Astride will have some other animals in the game in the future and one of those animals will be dogs. This is a sketch of The Norwegian Elkhound. They are commonly used for hunting and are great companions. And they are quite fluffy!




Player phone
There is so much to discover when it comes to the UI, but some plans and sketches has been made. The player will have a phone filled with different apps and here is an idea of how the apps may look like. To ease the player experience and make things more accessible, this is a great solution.




Wavy hair
Since introducing the Dole horse to the mix of breeds, we needed to make sure it would get a set of hair to match. Doles are known for growing long, full manes and this is something we wanted represented in Astride. Therefore, we found a way for wavy hair to work. This of course opens up for other horses to have wavy hair as well.




NPC house concept
Here is an idea for some of the NPC's house. This house is made with Rini and her husband, Jin, in mind. Since they are originally from Japan and moved to Eldheim, they build the house from the ground when they moved there a few years ago. The design is a small mix of a modern japanese house and with some small nordic elements.

The house is light and bright with lots of natural lighting. The rooms are filled with green plants, art and photos. The furniture is in Rini's favorite color aswell as some light wood. Rini and Jin loves to play games together on the TV so they got a console too. In the hallway there some antique objects that Jin bought on an auction which he decorated with some of Rini's showjumping prizes and awards.

Since Rini have bunnies, the living room have been designed for some space for free roam rabbits with a few beds, feeding space and toys.

Main improvements and bug corrections:

- You can now manage money from a ministry slush fund you can transfer to other controlled characters and use to create cash and bribes
- You can now reconnect to a multiplayer game after being disconnected
- You can now connect to a multiplayer game through an IP adress
- You can now change the UPNP port without creating a new multiplayer lobby
- Giving or asking objects to uncontrolled characters now costs influence points, or give influence points in the case of a gift of a precious object
- Every character has access to the action « Bribe by financial transaction »
- You no longer gain score when modifying the state budget without applying the changes
- Dependancies do not display in the current conflcits panel anymore
- You can now create fake ID badges when the Director of intelligence agency is in another country
- Fixed a bug that could prevent loading a save from a previous version
- Fixed animations and other visual issues when inviting a character to a restaurant
- Fixed a bug in the SMS when the Psychoanalyst send a patient’s psychiatric information
