It’s been six years since we published the Paradox Comic! 🎊
The original Paradox Comic Book by Lau Kwong Shing (@cowcowtony) remains one of our most treasured pieces of Rusty Lake merch in our office. The stunning artwork, blended with Lau’s own interpretation of the lore in Cube Escape: Paradox, expertly brought to life by the incredible team at @zbfghk, still leaves us in awe.
Years before Paradox was released, we discovered Lau’s amazing Rusty Lake fan art through our #FanArtFridays, and we were instantly captivated. His unique style and vision stood out immediately, especially when he pitched the idea of a comic based on Rusty Lake: Roots. We loved the concept, but at the time, we were deep in production for the Cube Escape: Paradox film and game. Instead, we asked if he’d be interested in creating something for the launch of Cube Escape: Paradox, and without hesitation, he jumped right in. The result was a brilliant new layer to the Paradox story, seamlessly woven into the Rusty Lake universe.
We’re still so proud and honoured to have collaborated with Lau early in his career on such an extraordinary project. And now, six years later, we’re thrilled to partner with Lost in Cult to re-launch the Paradox Comic Book in a new edition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Rusty Lake, so even more people can experience this masterpiece.

Welcome to Operation Brainstorm - File .: 1.16.6 :.
This is the release of the final part of Expansion Pass 1: Prototype Vehicles. All of these models were either blueprints or early prototypes that were created or designed during the war, but ended up never getting used, or even manufactured. Also, they’re all entirely optional to use. Everything in this Unit Pack is intended to add some flavour and doesn’t affect gameplay.
To facilitate and accompany this release we have included a War Effort patch, tweaking some balance, as well as fixing a bunch of issues.
I hope you enjoy this release! Our current plan is to be back in just a few weeks to give all of you more insight into what we are, and have been, up to.

Non-NSB Improved Medium Tank, Advanced Medium Tank, Improved Medium Tank Destroyer and Advanced Medium Tank Destroyers now have hardness value of 90%
Close support gun soft attack reduced to 22 from 25
Self-Propelled Anti-Air brigades now have a baseline +15% air attack modifier
Self-Propelled Artillery brigades now have a +15% baseline soft attack value
Tank Destroyer brigades now have a +15% baseline piercing modifier
Tank Designer: Anti-Air cannon 2 now has 32 Air Attack from 36, and 18 piercing from 20
Anti-Air cannon 3 now has 24 piercing from 30
Auto-Loader reduced to 1.5 IC cost from 2.5
Dozer blade IC cost reduced to 1 from 2
Easy Maintenance module increased to a 10% cost reduction, from 5%
Upgrading MIO on equipment no longer costs XP. Choosing to upgrade equipment via the checkbox or by using the MIO queue will automatically update any production lines producing said equipment for no additional cost or production efficiency loss.
Easy maintenance reduced to -7.5% from 10% cost reduction

The redundant words "Chassis", "Airframe", and "Hull" have been removed from most instances of equipment designer templates. These classifications were already implied.

Fixed GFX issue where airplanes crashing into ground would remain for a while

Today we’re rolling out our first patch - a solid batch of bug fixes, tweaks, and polish to make your survival smoother, nastier (for the dinos), and just a little more fair (for you… most of the time) 🦖
🛠️ Here’s what’s changed in this update:
The following achievements are now properly unlockable: First Steps, Poison for Everybody, Lucky Cowgirl, Fire and Flames, Blood Everywhere, Bulletproof vest!, The Old Team.
Removed a bug that allowed you to craft higher-tier items without having built the required worktable level.
Removed a bug that would cause players to spawn in the first exploration map without weapons/throwables.
The game is now warning you when it is saving. You will also be warned when quitting the game. (We are also working on a possible way to allow you to manually save in the exploration maps and regenerate them in one of the future updates)
Added an option to easily switch display from the Graphics Settings.
Fixed a bug that was allowing you to die in the tutorial using explosives.
Fixed a bug that was affecting your max health negatively when leaving the tutorial map and starting your first run.
Bounty Hunter and Scavenger are now properly triggering their services when you build their homes in the hub. (They will also give you an introductory dialogue where they explain what they do)
Fixed a visual bug related to the Bug Report tool not closing properly.
Fixed a bug that was allowing you to craft and possess more than 1 mod of the same type, which was consuming your materials and sending the crafted mod into oblivion. (This bug was probably also related to weapons upgrades doing the same, but we are still tracking this bug)
Fixed the items acquired notification getting stuck on the left of the screen in some situations.
Interacting too soon with the chest to pick the mod in the tutorial is no longer possible and will prevent you from getting stuck there.
Fixed a bug that was spawning only the scavenger in NPC tiles.
Fixed the second part of the tutorial to properly trigger combat music.
Fixed a bug that was not visually updating the bounty after moving to a new map.
Lowered prices of shops inside and outside run.
Decreased “Slow” status effect on the drawing and shooting speed of weapons.
Fixed a bug that caused the smelter to smelt the wrong amount of items.
Fixed a bug that caused items to be consumed twice when using a two handed weapon.
Increased the delay between money floating texts.
Fixed a bug that was preventing the loading screen to disappear at the end of the loading process.

First of All, Thank You! We’d like to thank you once again for all the valuable feedback and reports you’ve shared with us throughout the Early Access period. With every update, we carefully evaluate your input and continue to develop the game to make it more balanced, enjoyable, and stable.
This update includes several key gameplay adjustments as well as improvements to issues affecting the overall player experience.
Below are all the changes and fixes introduced in version 0.0.4:
Balance Notes
The spawn rate of monuments on the map has been rebalanced.
Item drop rates and item rarity values have been updated.
Base stat values of the main characters have been revised.
Lord Navigatrix's abilities have been buffed.
The "Mass Manipulation" ability has been improved for greater impact.
The lifesteal mechanic has been rebalanced due to being overly powerful. Lifesteal now triggers only once per attack, regardless of how many enemies are hit.
Fixed tracking and movement issues in ranged enemies.
Fixed the issue where the Challenge Box was not affecting item rarity.
Fixed several scenarios where the game could freeze on the loading screen.
Resolved ability trigger failures occurring during performance drops.
Fixed item duplication issues in Tinket's Forge system and Orin Vaal’s Gemstone crafting.
Note: The game now displays the version number. When reporting bugs or sharing feedback, please include the version number to help us investigate and resolve issues more efficiently.
