First of all, we want to thank everyone for the enormous support. Our 8 week game jam game exceeded all expectations. We are aware of connection issues and the crashes (and a few bugs). We are working as fast as we can to try to resolve these, please be patient with us.

This patch is small, and fixed a few issues:

Patch: 1.0.14299 (23/10/2025) Bugs:

  • Killbox doesn’t give frame damage to players anymore (Eating a cooked burger will heal this damage if you still have it in your save but it should be removed),

  • Fixed main menu music looping,

  • Filled out some holes in edges around the lake just before the town,

  • Potential fix for players becoming invisible,

  • Cleaned up among our textures to ensure they wasn't referencing nanite to see if that solves some crashes

Balancing:

  • Added some more motor oil cans and winch controllers to the world,

Tweaks:

  • Added display prompts when looking at items or attachment points you can’t interact with at the moment,

  • Added a little sign to motor hatch to help players find where it is,

  • Added water damage smoke vfx to engine when taking water damage

Hello Adventurers,

Get ready for some spooky adventures with the return of Jack o' Lantern. He’s back, looking for his delicious Candy Corn and is willing to reward you handsomely for their return.

This update also adds brand new shop items including a Halloween themed lantern and new cosmetics to really immerse you in the new Ship Graveyard map. Finally, the update brings numerous bug fixes and balance updates including greatly improved loot for the Frost Mountains. Thank you and see you in the dungeons!

  • Fixed an issue where the Rogue’s Double Jump could malfunction after reconnecting to the game following dungeon entry.

  • Fixed an issue where the Warlock’s summoned Hydra could fail to attack a hidden Rogue.

  • Fixed an issue where the Warlock’s Immortal Lament Magical Healing Bonus was being applied as Magical Healing instead of as a healing bonus as intended.

  • Fixed an issue where certain weapons, such as the arming sword, were not affected by the Fighter's Sword Mastery.

  • Fixed an issue where the Fighter’s Shield Slam could fail to destroy destructible objects.

  • Fixed an issue where action speed might not have been applied to the aiming timing that affects projectile drop.

  • Fixed an issue where items could disappear from the inventory after completing a trade at the Trading Post.

Game Updates:
  • A Twitch Drops Campaign will take place on October 24th, 25th, and 26th.

  • The Halloween Event begins! Check out Jack O' Lantern’s quest and new cosmetics available in the shop.

  • New cosmetics have been released.

  • Improved the Druid’s Barkskin Armor so that it no longer obstructs the vision of players transformed into rat or chicken form as much.

  • Improved the visual clarity of certain Ancient Stingray attack patterns.

  • Changed the name Death Stalker → Sea Piranha.

  • Improved the dungeon result screen and the arena result screen.

  • In Arena random matchmaking, players will no longer be matched against the same class.

  • The length of the Horseman’s Axe and Hatchet has been increased.

  • Improved the icon for the Black Despair Banner emote.

Balance Updates:

General

  • Reduced the difficulty of quests that had escape requirements.

  • Improved the loot for the Ice Caverns and the Icy Abyss.

  • Changed so that knockback, airborne effects, and debuffs are not applied between players in Adventure Mode.

  • Faustian Bargain – Monster balance has been adjusted.

  • Faustian Bargain – Skeleton Archers now have Quick Shot Skill.

  • Spell casting speed has been increased for lower Knowledge values.

  • Even if a weapon’s primary attributes include True Physical Damage, True Magical Damage, Additional Physical Damage, or Additional Magical Damage, it can now roll Additional Weapon Damage as a random option.

Item

  • The duration of Ghostdust Pouch has been reduced by half across all grades.

  • Throwing Knife and Francisca Axe of Common grade can now be purchased from vendors.

  • Throwing Knife and Francisca Axe of Rare grade are now craftable.

  • The Weapon Damage of Francisca Axe has been increased by 2.

Class

  • For Warlock, the health recovery effect of Immortal Lament now also applies to Life Drain.

  • For Sorcerer, the cooldown reduction bonus of Elemental Fury has been decreased from 0.75% to 0.5%, and the move speed bonus has been decreased from 0.1% to 0.05%.

Geheimnisnacht

Geheimnisnacht is upon us, and the Skull of Blosphoros haunts these lands once more! From October 23 until November 2, you can find foul Chaos worshippers performing vile rituals to awaken this dark master, and it is up to you to stop them!

Seek the Skull of Blosphoros in the following levels:

  • Righteous Stand

  • Hunger in the Dark

  • Warcamp

  • Old Haunts

  • The Forsaken Temple

Disrupt the ritual and secure the Skull of Blosphoros for an extra challenge. Select your courier with caution as there is no second chance of picking up the Skull during that mission once it has been lost.

Unlock new rewards

Complete Event Quests by disrupting the ritual and carrying the Skull all the way through the levels to earn unique rewards! There’s five new weapon illusions alongside a brand new portrait frame to unlock!

  • Bardin's War Pick

  • Kerillian's Greatsword

  • Saltzpyre's Axe

  • Sienna's Conflagration Staff

  • Kruber's Sword

Additionally, for the duration of the event there will be Double XP to be earned across all game modes!

Loading Screen

The loading screen has been completely redesigned: The "spinning dial" and its iconic sound is no more!

The transitions are smoother and have a Krosmoz background. An ANKAMA GAMES screen briefly appears when the game is launched.

Server Selection

The server selection screen has been redesigned and now highlights the incredible artwork of Grihm and Atto. It now includes more detailed information about each server.

For the Neo Servers, there will be an initial welcome screen prompting you to choose your preferred mode. After that, navigation is split into server tabs to save space.

In addition, the server used when creating a character is automatically highlighted. If you have preregistered, you will be taken directly to the correct server.

Character Selection

Character selection has not changed drastically. However, you can change the size of the selection tiles to choose between a wider and more feature-rich view or a more condensed list that shows more characters.

Character Creation

Character creation has changed. A Kiviat diagram (also known as a radar chart or spider chart) indicates the performance of each class in each of the game's main skills:

  • Damage

  • Healing

  • Protection

  • Support

  • Positioning

  • Mobility

This information is shown when you select a class, and if you hover over another class, its information is brought to the fore so you can compare the two classes.

The signature spells from each class can be viewed to give you an idea of the class's main strengths. Finally, customization has been redesigned to make it clearer.

Encyclopedia

The inclusion of the Encyclopedia is another big part of Update 1.90. You can use it to look up equipment, resources and monsters. You can use various filters – level, rarity, acquisition, type, territory, etc. – to find loads of useful information about the game! This feature has been highly requested for many years within the community and has now been implemented.

For each item, you can look at how it's acquired, so you can find out which machine has it, whether it can be crafted, if it's available as loot, from which monsters, and what the drop rate is.

For Update 1.90, the Encyclopedia won't be fully complete and some information will be missing, such as spells and professions. We want to make improvements in future updates based on feedback from the community.

Miscellaneous Improvements

The trade window has been updated to be larger and more aesthetically pleasing

The new artistic direction also applies to the temporary inventory, which includes new actions: Take all and recycle items, all via a dedicated button or individually via the inventory hammer.

Not really an interface change, but we wanted to draw attention to it: When positioning at the start of a fight, you can place yourself on new animated cells! Being animated, they are much more visible in all areas of the game. Playtests have shown that new players were having problems with Rii, for example.

Conclusion

There are still lots of things to do to improve the interface, and we're aware that many windows haven't been updated yet: Dungeons, Contact Book, Guild, Ecosystem, and lots more… However, with Update 1.90, we have a comprehensive and consistent approach to the main features of WAKFU.

We plan to keep working on the remaining interfaces in the years to come. In the meantime, you can still install a custom theme created by the community.

We'd like to take advantage of this Devblog to mention our affiliate creator Ymoka. The theme that Ymoka designed and has been updating for a long time is an excellent extension of our work. It is consistent with the new artistic direction and harmonizes in terms of size and color schemes.

Furthermore, the community seems to love it. We have therefore decided to officially adopt his theme in the WAKFU MMO game and preinstall it automatically for all users who join us in the future. This helps players who are starting their adventure to experience a game with a consistent look between all the interfaces. Ymoka has kindly agreed to let us use it, and we want to say a big thank you for that.
