Starting this week, we’re upgrading the Infinite Pack, adding EVEN MORE to the one pack that gets you everything that you need to get started.

First, we’re adding the creatures and traps that were released since the original rollout including:
• Snowser
• Hot Cluck
• Manaferatu
• Smell Hound
• In-Specter Drubbage
• Slowtorch
• Fire Globueye
• Ice GlobulEye
• Mrs. Goatfire
• Icy Pops

Now that all new rare creatures and traps are now automatically and permanently added to the game, we’re making sure that owners of the Infinite Pack get them too!

 
One copy of each of all current & future creatures and traps will be unlocked and available according to the player’s level progression.

 
*please note that those who have already purchased the Infinite Pack will receive the update next week.

We’re going to keep rolling out improvements too. Over the next few weeks we’ll be adding pets, decorations, castle themes and more creatures and traps. Keep watching this space; we’ll keep you updated on new additions to the Infinite Pack!

Play The Knight for free this week!

Balancing

 
  • Durr and Icy Pops can no longer be resurrected by Bone Puppeteer.


Improvements

 
  • The Runaway's weapons mana regen tooltips have been updated to showcase the correct values.
  • The Martians have decided to paint Nigel's cage in a different colour to make it more flashy and noticeable during the attack.
  • A default icon has been placed when no potions are currently equipped on a hero.
  • The Deep Fried Condos have received some visual upgrades.

  • An arrow has been added to help locate the correct castles to attack while completing "attack a castle" objectives.

  • The castle crafting panel will now automatically open upon completing an objective while in the tutorial.
  • The transition to the attack selection of the tutorial should now feel smoother.
  • Once a quest has been accepted in the tutorial, the pop-up will no longer trigger every time the game changes state. It will trigger again if the client gets rebooted in order to pick up the game session where it was previously left off.
  • Timing with pointers, dialogue boxes and narrative voices have been adjusted in various areas of the tutorial.
  • The camera will be able to zoom a little bit further while visiting castles in the tutorial.
  • A tip has been added while naming the castle to highlight its purpose.
  • All crates (except the crate Nigel is being held prisoner) have been removed from Area Shifty One.
  • The "Unlock New Skills" UI has been moved to the right to remove the overlap with the dialogue box.
  • The camera is now centered on the castle when entering the Defense mode for the first time while in the tutorial.
  • The floating castle on the home screen has small received visual upgrades.
  • The Castle Crafting icon has been moved up.


Bug Fixes

 
  • Resolved an issue where it was possible to stop the tutorial progression by triggering the Cornelius Emporium upon freeing Nigel.
  • Resolved an issue where General Cluckenstein had the wrong icon in Tybalt's Farm.
  • Resolved an issue where the Revenge button is highlighted yellow even if no revenge is possible.
  • Resolved an issue where it was possible to equip gear where the hero did not meet the requirements.
  • Resolved an issue where the Minor Healing Potion (level 1) had higher auto-equip priority than the other potions.
  • Resolved an issue where the Nurse Reverse and the Healer Bone Puppeteer were missing sound in their idle animation.
  • Resolved an issue where the Mage's Electrik Charge becomes unresponsive after using the ability consecutive times.

Hello, Cornelius Richling here again and if you're tired of hearing chickens complain about rancid beaks, Derps worried about the loss of limbs or any creatures nagging you about well, dying, I've got just the thing for you!

Introducing NURSE REVERSE. She may not be the first health care worker with sunken eyes and penchant for causing more harm than good, but she does have some basic training and a horrible bedside manner.

While she will not actively hurt anyone, this support character will help mute the death rattle of your castle creatures.

Nurse reverse casts a field effect on the ground that, while inside, any attacking heroes' damage is REVERSED, healing instead of damaging. For every point of damage they might have caused (so long as they are affected by Nurse Reverse) they will cause that much HEALING. Pretty sneaky, right?

 

So craft this angel of mercy today! Turn your castle into the HEARSE-ing home it's meant to be!

Most Want Traps & Creatures everywhere!

A few weeks ago, we wrote a blog about pay-to-win concerns and how we would address them in the future. As promised, the Most Wanted creatures and traps are now available in the crafting lab, unlocked as part of the castle progression. You can unlock them by upgrading your castle heart and crafting lab.




 

 

Balancing:


Many Most Wanted creatures and traps have had their CP costs reduced and the Material Cost increased. Here's the list:

 
  • Caustic Carpet CP reduced to 3.
  • General Pow CP reduced to 4.
  • Fuming Frank CP reduced to 12

  • Resolved an issue where no sound effect was played when equipping potions with right click. 
  • Resolved an issue where ability on 1, 2 and 3 cannot be displayed while validating the castle for the first time in the tutorial.
  • Resolved an issue where it was possible to start an attack instead of constructing the first floor of your castle in the tutorial.
  • Resolved an issue where a giant rock would float in the screen while doing the open house in the tutorial.
  • Resolved an issue where the construction blueprint icon would display in a castle attack while in the tutorial.
  • Resolved an issue where the hero stands in the heated gardens before the tutorial starts if the game is rebooted upon completing the fourth objective to complete the castle.
  • Resolved an issue where on occasion skills were not inspectable. 
  • Resolved an issue where some players did not have the "Play" button after login on the launcher.
  • Resolved an issue where some players experienced a Network Error upon loading the game.
  • Resolved an issue where the client could crash upon changing castle theme in the Home or Attack screen.
  • Resolved an issue where the client crashed upon inspecting someone's profile page then switching to another game's screen while the profile is still loading.
  • Resolved multiple issues where the client crashed after it attempted to access deleted memory.

Starting Thursday 10AM EDT all the rare creatures and traps will be permanently added to the crafting lab without any quantity limitation. They will be unlocked following the crafting lab progression (like any other creature) mimicking the same type of unlock progression as the ones in the Infinite pack.

Revamped Game Introduction Tutorial & Quests!
The team has spent a lot of time reworking the very beginning of the game for new players. There you'll find new mission castles, new characters and more Opulencian shenanigans! Along with this, we have introduced a number of lower level Quests made specifically for new players. Fear not, however! Players of all level will have access to them. Even if they are likely too easy for mid-to-high level players we recommend spending some quality looting time here…. just maybe they'll contain a little hidden surprise... These new castles can also be found in the Competition zones.





 





Please Note: These will appear on your HUD, but can only be completed in the first region, so head to Little Spitaly!

Balancing

For the new players tutorial we boosted the Archer Piercing skill in the following way:
  • Level 1 now has a base of 25, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 1.5
  • Level 2 now has a base of 0, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 1.75
  • Level 3 now has a base of 0, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 2.0

The skill now causes damage that is slightly higher than the base Ballista of a similar level

And also for the Mage Flameburst, we boosted the following :
  • Level 1 now has a base of 0, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 2
  • Level 2 now has a base of 0, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 2.5
  • Level 3 now has a base of 0, with a Skill Damage (Base damage + Gear damage) multiplier of 3

Some skills at early levels are unlocked in a different order.

Improvements
 
  • The HP of the following barricades and mines have been slightly lowered at early levels:
    • Bookcases
    • Crates
    • Gold Mine
    • Life Force Mine
  • Skyboxes in defend mode have had a huge overhaul to enhance them:
    • New shaders and textures are used for the clouds and the sea.
    • The ground has been remodeled with a lot more detail, for more variety between regions










New XP Curve

We’ve revised the XP curve to time the amount of levels that a Hero will gain at the start of the game, for a better experience and while we were at it, we’ve revised the end of the curve so that you can now get to level 30 a little faster. You will notice that while you are still at the same level and relative position, it will now be easier/faster to reach the next level. Note that it also means that it should now be faster to level up that 2nd hero (and 3rd and 4th…) that you might want to start…


Revive Costs

We’ve revised the cost of Revive, to bring them more in line with the amount of Gold players should have.
The new Revive costs, in gold, per levels are:
  • 1: Free
  • 2-5: 500
  • 6-10: 750
  • 11-15: 1250
  • 16-20: 2500
  • 21-25: 7500
  • 26-30: 15000

Other Changes
 
  • Rare creatures & traps cannot be sold on the Steam Market anymore as per last week's announcement. Items currently on sale will remain in their current state until sold or cancelled.
  • New background icons on skills bar.

Bug Fixes
 
  • Resolved an issue where the client could crash while focusing on the chat panel.
  • Resolved an issue where the attack selection would be a black screen while video settings are set to low configuration with the distortion enabled.
  • Resolved an issue where the Options panel did not correctly display the text in the Portuguese version.
  • Resolved an issue where the client could randomly crash upon closing a window.
  • Fixed numerous issues where audio would continue to play after a creature was killed.

We were about to close the doors to the crafting cabinet and we thought, "Isn't it great that ALL RARE CREATURES AND TRAPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR CRAFTING?" and decided to keep this event going for another week! Craft up to 5 of each for 7 MORE DAYS. After that well, no.

Also a reminder to all; as part of our effort to remove all P2W routes in the game, starting this Thursday, there will be no more selling of rare creatures and traps on the Steam market anymore (those already on sale will stay on sale, but no more will be added). Vanity items will still be sellable.

Don't stand there with the cabinet door open, get crafting! Who's paying the 'lectric bill here anyway?

  • Various tooltips have had their description revised to be more consistent throughout the game.
  • The Big Crate HP has been slightly reduced to be in line with the other barricades of the same size.
  • New icons for XP boosts to better represent their differing durations.
  • Tweaks to the collision box has been done to all the items below to help the hero navigating around these items rather than stopping:
    • Hot Roller
    • Hamster Wheel
    • Acid Cannon
    • Ballistic Cannon
    • Sadistic Cannon
    • Christmas barricades
    • Bookcase barricades

Bug Fixes
  • Resolved an issue where using the last potion of a level during an attack, the next tier of potion would activate but would be unusable.
  • Resolved an issue where the discount did not correctly apply for some players during the free hero week-end.
  • Resolved an issue where attempting to buy a daily deal item without enough Blings resulted in an incorrect amount of Blings required for the purchase displayed.
  • Resolved an issue where the client would crash if trying to craft an item while the inventory is full.
  • Resolved an issue where dying and resurrecting during an attack no longer affects the castle difficulty ratio as if it was multiple different attacks. This will make castle difficulty ratings a lot more accurate.
  • Resolved an issue where Gold Boosts were not included in the resource production per hour on the mines panel.
  • Resolved an issue where the button "esc" would be disabled after changing settings from the options menu.
  • Resolved an issue where holding Shift and Fiery Weapon would drain the
  • Knight's mana instead of consuming 15 mana points.
  • Resolved an issue where the Cold Holder debuff would be removed if the trap becomes disabled with a trap disabling skill while standing in the Cold Holder.
  • Resolved an issue where a mine could not be unselected unless clicking on another entity.
  • Resolved an issue where the Caustic Carpet did not apply the corrosive debuff FX on the hero.
  • Resolved an issue where the FX on the Runaway's magic Greataxe was out of sync.
