Complete the Hero Trials and send the Granker King’s minions packing. You can look forward to rewards in the form of amazing items such as [Event] Selection Box of Hanbok Pixel Transformation Contracts (4 types), Legendary Bundle of Enchantment Stones, [Event] Shimmering Abyss Treasure.
You can take on two different Hero Trials which have to be completed:
The Invasion in Gelkmaros and Inggison
Potcrabs and Sweaties have been spotted in Gelkmaros and Inggison! They must be Peons belonging to Debilkarim the Maker, who has formed an alliance with the powerful Granker King. It is now up to Daevas (level 76 and above) to nip this invasion in the bud:
Stop the Potcrabs and Debilkarim in the 4-week quest [Event][Account] Potcrabs and Co.
Every 4 days, put a stop to the Sweaties’ mischief in the quest [Event][Account] Sweaty Swarm!
The Daeva Fightback
The Daevas are hunting down their enemies in retaliation for the insidious invasion. Assemble your comrades-in-arms (level 78 and above) and fight for the freedom of Atreia in 12 different weekly quests.
Infiltration: Creep into your enemies’ territory, kill their monsters and conquer fortresses and gates.
Raids: Defeat the world bosses in Balaurea.
Attack and defence: seize control of the garrisons in Lakrum and defend the Winding Tower or capture the altars in Dumaha.
You can earn extra rewards once a week by completing 9 of the 12 available weekly quests.
Little Monster Guide
To make it easier for you to find the monsters in these Hero Trials, we have compiled a brief guide to the monsters:
General Tips → Redclaw Potcrabs love being in water, whereas Sweaties feel at home anywhere. → The items Teleport Scroll Box: Neutral Dumaha Landing Site and Teleport Scroll Box: Neutral Lakrum Base can prove very useful for reaching the world bosses more quickly. Get them from the relevant Level 5 Glory Merchant.

Notes on the Hero Trials
The Hero Trials marked ‘[Account]’ can only be completed once per account.
You can collect your rewards from the mailbox in the shop. You can assign them to a character from there (Manage bonuses → Allocatable rewards).
Defeated monsters count towards the quest if you have gained XP by killing them. If you die, you don’t get any XP, and the monsters you killed don’t count towards the quest.
Please note that there may be problems due to a high system load. This may lead to the Hero Trials window not being displayed or the quests taking some time to update. In this case, please wait for the system to complete all calculations in the background.
Since some monsters don’t count towards the quest, you might need to kill additional ones.
The items [Event] Jorgoth’s Half-Weapons Chest Fragment will be removed from the game at the end of the event.
Shuronerk is a passionate Ice Jewel collector, but she has unfortunately lost her precious jewel box to a pair of greedy little Shugos. She’s asking the Daeva for help getting back her fine Ice Jewels.
Help Shuronerk and get rewarded with precious items such as the [Rune] Holiday Transformation Box (16 types), [Rune] Selection Box of Class A, Level 4 Minion Contracts (5 types), as well as the [Rune] +5 Extreme Equipment Box!
How It Works:
Swap the Ice Jewels with Shuronerk in Inggison or Gelkmaros for items of your choosing.
The Ice Jewels can also be found in the AION Shop: Simply get the Ice Jewels Treasure or the Ice Jewels Chest.
Please note: All Ice Jewels will be removed from the game after the event is over.
Prove that you’ve got the tactical skills and fight your way through the Rift of Oblivion. Use the power of nature to clear your path all the way to the end boss. If you leave the battle victoriously, you can expect fantastic rewards like the [Event] Lord’s Sacred Water, [Event] Lodas’ Greater Golden Star, and the Legendary Fragment of Memory.
Running: 6th July to 27th July
Enter the Rift
The entrance to the instance is located in the fortresses in Gelkmaros and Inggison. You can enter the Rift of Oblivion once per day.
Defeat the Shadow of Oblivion
Fight your way through the instance and defeat the final enemy: the Shadow of Oblivion! Your rank depends on the number of points you score and how much time is left. The better your rank, the higher your reward will be:
21,200 points and 18 minutes left → 4x Sealed Memory Bundle
17,700 points and 16 minutes left → 3x Sealed Memory Bundle
14,100 points and 10 minutes left → 2x Sealed Memory Bundle
9,400 points and 1 minute left → 1x Sealed Memory Bundle
Instance Tips
Take our tips to heart and you’ll complete the Rift of Oblivion with flying colours:
• There are three Teleport Stones along the way through the instance which are activated when you approach them. If you fail and die, you can continue from the last Teleport Stone you activated.
• Recovering Drakan can be found throughout the instance. After you defeat one, there’s a chance that a Drakan will reappear which can score you a lot of points.
• The three Commander Gegares you’ll come across in the rift grant you massive amounts of experience, but they don’t earn you any points. So pick the right moment to fight them.
• The Shadow of Oblivion transforms when its health is low. Adapt quickly or it will win the upper hand.
Some monsters are of a special type which is weak against a certain old High Daeva: The Incarnation of Fire is strong against magical type monsters. The Incarnation of Water is strong against special monsters. The Incarnation of Earth is strong against Assassin Monsters. The Incarnation of Wind is strong against Warrior Monsters.
Instance Tips
You can find an overview of all rewards in our list of rewards.
Please note: The item [Event] Sealed Memory Bundle will be removed from the game at the end of the event.
Thrilling battles are waiting for you in Aphsaranta! However, you can only enter Aphsaranta from level 81 onwards... Not got that far yet? No problem, a real Daeva doesn’t let that stop them! Just create a fully equipped level 80 hero and nothing will stand in your way of conquering Aphsaranta!
Your Sprint Character
Running: 6th July to 3rd August
Get additional benefits from your daily login during this event by creating a fully equipped level 80 hero and starting your Aphsaranta adventure!
Here’s how you get your level 80 hero: in the character creation section of the game you just have to click on the ‘Sprint Character’ button to create a new hero character who is already level 80. This is only possible during the event period and you can only create one sprint character per account. If this character is deleted, it can’t be restored. Please also note that you can only create a hero if you have not already exceeded your maximum number of characters.
Fully equipped: To make sure you can get started with you new hero straight away, you’ll get Urlisiel’s equipment, Yasba’s Grace, a few Kinah and some other items. Your sprint character will automatically receive [Helper] +9 Stigmas matching their class, which can also be mixed with normal Stigmas. In addition, equipping Stigmas only costs 1 Kinah during the event period!

Rewards
You can find an overview of all possible rewards for both events in our list of rewards.
July has arrived and it's time to check in with last month's progress on Xenonauts 2. Apologies for slight slowness as we got this month's update in order - here's all the info…
There’s three main things to talk about this month: accessibility, the end of the game, and the release of V24.
Accessibility
We recently noticed that a lot of players were misunderstanding game mechanics, and given the people currently playing the game are Kickstarter backers who usually know the first game well, this set some alarm bells ringing at our end. As a result we've added a lot more information to the game this month, which should help experienced players easily understand how the different mechanics are interacting and should (hopefully) make the game much less intimidating for new players.
The first element of this is a "hit calculation" panel during tactical combat, which explains exactly how the hit chance of a shot is calculated (see above). This is a relatively simple change that makes ground combat much clearer, as it previously wasn't always obvious what you could do to improve the hit chance of a shot.
The second improvement is to the Xenopedia (research) reports, which now show the stats of the corresponding alien / UFO / aircraft / piece of equipment / etc. To make things even clearer, we've also added in a section for "abilities" that allows us to explain any unique properties - e.g. the basic Sebillian aliens have the "Regeneration: 20" and "Scaled Hide: 5" abilities and hovering over either of these displays a tooltip that explains exactly what those abilities do and how they work.
The result is a clear summary of what each thing in the game does. Importantly, this does not require the player to read the wall of text that comes with each research report - although lots of players like reading the lore, we suspect there's also a lot who would rather not have to!
As a final improvement here, we're also working on making the Xenopedia accessible during tactical combat via the Esc menu.
Next, we’ve added mission briefings at the start of tactical missions that make it clear what the objectives are, along with any special rules / alternate win conditions. Previously, this wasn't required because almost every mission boiled down to "kill all the aliens" but now we've started adding more mission variety via more complex objectives, it is definitely needed - we were finding a lot of people were getting confused on the non-standard missions.
Lastly, we’ve re-enabled the loading screen tips and added quite a few new tips. These are surprisingly useful to communicate minor gameplay or usability features that even some experienced players are not aware of.
What comes next on usability? The two main things we're currently planning out are the tutorial and little pop-up notifications that explain mechanics to players as they play (e.g. you can right-click on a door from an adjacent tile to open it, etc). We're hopeful the game will be fairly easy to learn and play once those systems are done, given our tooltips are already in a reasonably good state!
Operation Endgame
We've been working on the final mission of the game for a while now. Last month we blocked out the maps and worked on the fundamental code required to support two missions back-to-back. This month, we were doing proper gameplay testing on the mission which has led to a lot of bugs being fixed and quite a few amendments to the levels and the balancing.
It's now possible to unlock the final mission and win it. However, we want to make the experience of winning a game slightly more rewarding than it was in the first Xenonauts, where the game just flashed up a couple of lines of congratulatory text and then booted you back to the menu screen. We've been implementing a campaign stats panel to show the player (e.g. "Total Aliens Killed", "Total Soldiers Lost", etc) and we're also planning a more substantial epilogue to the game too.
Build V24 / Public Release
We're hoping to release our next closed beta version towards the end of this month, likely some point during the week commencing 18th July.
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that the things we're working on at the moment are some of the biggest things blocking an open beta / Early Access release (people need to be able to understand the game and win the campaign), and this is not entirely a coincidence. We're not going to publicly announce any plans yet but we're making a concerted effort to get the game ready for sale in the near future.
Thanks again for the patience on this - those of you who leave positive and supportive comments on these updates are hugely appreciated.
Many thanks for reading and for staying up-to-date with our work - as ever please do join us on Discord, the forums or the Steam community if you have any questions.

Steady progress!
Looking back at the first eight months of the project, we are really happy with how things are moving with Liftoff: Micro Drones. While this graphic doesn't show the complete picture and leaves out 90% of the work that has been done, it does provide a top-down overview of the progress made so far. Though still in Early Access, Liftoff: Micro Drones is already a more solid package to enjoy, and we are excited how the project will further change with the next steps.
Talking about the next steps
We have one more Fractal Engineering related update right around the corner. Next up, we are going to focus on taking the next leap in flight physics development. We might have an experimental version of an improved flight simulation available for testing very soon. We'll be looking for talented pilots willing to give it a spin and provide feedback directly to the team.
In terms of content, after crushing it with the development of Sealand and Sawdust Inc, the art team is now focusing their attention on more frames and parts (as seen in this update) and the development of a new level for classic Liftoff. Once that's done, we'll jump back to Liftoff: Micro Drones levels.
Two weeks have passed since the 1.7 update and it's already 1.7.8! :) Thanks to your great feedback we have already fixed and improved many things - of which we want to give you a small overview here.
Special thanks to Goldberger, Floppa Priest, justcallmebob, VillainBob and UnimatrixZero for their helpful input!

Story & Zones: War Domain – Realm of Destroyed Evil
Once the Realm of Light consisted of two separate planes: the Peace Domain above and the War Domain below. These two domains existed in different times and did not interfere with one another – until the Biyoujis disturbed the balance between them. Rifts opened allowing demons travel through time and space and flood the Peace Domain.
The Realm of Light is connected to three areas of the War Domain revealing the Gujian III crossover. The domains will open after each other Thursday until July 24th.
War Domain: Demon Battlefield
Near Tianlu City, the Capital of Fairies - there is a beautiful grassland surrounded by mountains. One thousand years ago demons fell here. No wonder the Fairies called their city in their language “Let the Light in.” Yet – today – Biyoujis threaten this land again.

In July, the fire is burning, and the red ground is thousands of miles away.
I'm sure a lot of people are hot. Compared to the scorching summer days of hiding in an air-conditioned room, July is a better season, because Steam's summer promotions are in full swing!
Quietly tell you: your favorite "Aspect" will stop at 30% off on July 8! Buy now!
Players who have already bought "Aspect", I believe that more or less will find some moving little details in the game, bringing players a variety of surprise experiences.
This is the little easter eggs specially provided by "Aspect" for players, which are all kinds of interesting hidden levels! They are like some small gold coins and small gems buried in the grass waiting for players to carefully explore...
For example, in the process of playing the game, I found that in the Xiuxian Continent level, the first chapter Lingjingshan has been walking the road on the right, and then select the option of attacking the basilisk, and then the hidden level can be unlocked!
Collecting this little easter egg in the rich plot, I believe that many players have been eager to try it!
P.S. Players who don't know where the easter eggs are buried can go to the video page to watch related videos~
