\[Update] Japanese language display issue
Thank you for playing Guardian of the Rebellion.
As previously reported, some Japanese users have experienced a problem where the in-game display switches to English. To address this, we had asked affected users to delete the localization.dat file as an emergency measure.
With the recent update, this localization.dat file has been regenerated, so it is necessary to delete it again to restore Japanese display.
We are following Steam’s instructions and taking action, but the issue is still ongoing.
In your Steam Library, right-click Guardian of the Rebellion
Select Manage → Browse Local Files
Delete the localization.dat file in the opened folder
Restart the game
We sincerely apologize for the continued inconvenience.
We are actively working toward a permanent solution, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Otherlights is soon celebrating its 1st anniversary of Early Access:
Since last year, Otherlights has continued to evolve. The numerous updates have aimed to improve the game's feel, accessibility, aesthetics, and depth.
I preferred to listen to feedback and take the time to do what needed to be done rather than trying to complete Early Access within the announced timeframe.
Since the quality of the game is our priority, Otherlights will only be released once it is finished.
Thank you to everyone who has followed us so far, and good luck!
Robin.
Update 4.3
Significant changes to combat:
It is now easier to stagger most enemies. Some enemies have gained a skill to perform when the stagger limit is reached.
This change is accompanied by stat balancing and the addition of enemies in certain scenes.
Bug fixes following the game engine update.
Minor changes.

We're not going to sugarcoat it. Backbeat is a difficult game. Only 4% of people have cleared the game on the easiest difficulty setting. There are four achievements NO ONE has ever unlocked. Why?
It's a puzzler. It involves four separate threads of casuality that must be interbalanced. Your health is measured in how well you can adjust the flow of music.
You're probably thinking, "How does that even manifest itself in a game?"
Well, we have you covered there! Here's a video on YouTube showing exactly how that goes down: https://www.youtube.com/live/7rDkXJwnYMo?si=LWZU2Q66UeZnI7td&t=310
On the other hand, if you are the type to throw away the instructions as soon as you get a gadget, there is a free demo.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1585730/Backbeat/Better still, if you are the type that loves a challenge AND saving money, then you should know the game is the cheapest it's ever been, 53% off, a mere 11 dollars for a guaranteed 20+ hours of nerve racking, mind-blowing, funk-filled fun.
So grab Backbeat now and be one of the few that climbs to the top of the Mount Everest of puzzlers.
If turn-based tactics is more your thing, we are running a time-limited playtest of our next game, Tactichord: Glam Strategy, so sign up now for that too!

Scrapper now has several red-colored visuals to help players distinguish between it and the Blacksmith. This is a temporary fix. We will make a proper update visually once we have it.
Scrapper will now show the correct values of resources gained by scrapping an item. Previously, the Scrapper showed a higher value than intended.
"If one person sins, everyone dies."
The Forgotten City is part of the Games Under 5 Hours event (October 13-27), and we need to tell you about this one, again because its a timeless experience!
You wake up 2,000 years in the past, in a hidden Roman city governed by an impossible rule called The Golden Rule. Break it, and everyone turns to gold. Forever. You watch it happen. Then time resets, and you're back at the beginning of the day.
But here's the thing – you remember everything. Every conversation. Every secret. Every lie.
Can you use the time loop to your advantage? Can you save everyone? Or is the city doomed no matter what you do?
What makes it extraordinary:
A gripping mystery with multiple solutions
Gorgeous, historically accurate ancient Roman setting
Time loop that respects your intelligence – no tedious repetition
Solve problems through conversation, morality, clever thinking (violence is an option, but rarely the answer)
Deep philosophical questions about rules, morality, and human nature
Multiple endings based on the choices you make
Award-winning writing (this started as a Skyrim mod that won a Writers' Guild award!)
Overwhelmingly Positive rating (96%) with over 10K reviews on Steam!
We're giving away 2 Steam keys!
