Noir Syndrome Version 1.8 will be releasing later this week. Those of you who follow me may know that I've been working on a new game project lately. Therefore, this may be the last major update for a while. That's not to say I still won't watch the game closely, as I've done with all my past projects.
Anyways, there will be more info on all of that later. This update is a big "roundup", in that it will smooth out a lot of things. Hit Contracts, new vendors, and fixes for every known bug in the game. I recommend checking out the full patch notes below!
New Features: - New purchasable item: Hit Contract - Hit Contracts stop any current hitmen that are after the player - Hit Contracts also greatly reduce the chance of seeing another hitman for a while Gameplay Changes: - New vendor added to the Slums that sells Hit Contracts - New vendor added to the Department Store that sells food - New vendor added to the Mechanic Shop that sells lockpicks - All locations now have vendors and/or unique elements that are worth visiting for Fixes and Improvements: - Wiping out the entire town will prevent events that couldn't occur without people - As intended for Sandbox mode, you cannot gain progress for incremental badges - Previously Sandbox mode only prevented earning "one-time" badges - Job-related issues such as blank jobs and nameless NPCs have been fixed - Minor AI improvements - Various bug fixes

Version 1.7 is now available for all users! As I had mentioned in the preview, this update brings a fair amount of new content with some nifty gameplay changes as well. The Post Office is an ideal non-violent alternative to the Hunt Club, and now both areas are considered "jobs". To go with the new job statistics are the first costumes that can be unlocked without collecting costume scraps.
For players looking to complete Impossible mode and get the highest scores, challenge points have become even more critical. Now, every challenge point gives 2 starting hunger in addition to the old effects. To encourage players to try harder modes, solving a case on Hard awards 1 challenge point while solving a case on Impossible awards 2 challenge points. Coupled with the Hard/Impossible bonuses for completing challenges, you could earn up to 5 points in one game!
There's plenty more to check out, so take a look at the full patch notes below.
New Features: - New location added: Post Office - New item added: Postal Receipt - Players who find the postal receipt can take package delivery jobs at the Post Office - Delivering packages to people rewards money, a non-violent alternative to the Hunt Club - 2 new costumes added (unlocked by completing jobs, not collecting costume scraps) - Every 1 challenge point earned now also increases starting hunger by 2 Gameplay Changes: - Closing a case on hard mode awards 1 additional challenge point - Closing a case on impossible mode awards 2 additional challenge points - Hitmen show up very rarely on normal mode, sometimes not at all - Hitmen fire their first bullet slower then before to give the player more time to react - Hostile NPCs will delay their first attack slightly to allow the player to make better decisions Fixes and Improvements: - Added small floating icons over the player when investigate or shoot is pressed - Added "Jobs Completed" and "Job Cash Earned" to the Statistics screen - Changed "Clue" to "Item" in the Notebook as job items are also in the list - NPCs now properly calm down after a while in Sandbox Dinner Party mode - Players can no longer starve to death in the tutorial - Minor AI improvements - Minor bug fixes

Noir Syndrome Version 1.7 will be releasing within the next week or so. Like the last update, this is going to be another big one. A lot of the new features, including progressing past badge unlocks, revolve around challenge points. Therefore, I've added additional ways to collect them. There is also an all new area with a new job to take on and matching costumes.
There's plenty more then just that, so check out the full patch notes below!

Noir Syndrome Version 1.6 is now available for all users!
As I had mentioned in the preview, this patch is on the larger side. An all new "Sandbox" mode has been added that provides unlimited days and hunger. Additionally, the killer has taken to hiring hitmen to stop you from eventually capturing them. As you get closer to solving a case, hired hitmen will try to track you down and try to stop you. Anyone could be out for you, so pay attention to what people say and you might get an early warning that you're being hunted.
If you missed the patch notes, take a look below to see what's new!
New Features: - Added a new "Sandbox" mode (in addition to normal, hard, and impossible) - Sandbox mode gives the player infinite hunger and infinite days - Sandbox mode works in the Dinner Party as well, except there is still only 1 day - You cannot earn score, unlock badges, purchase scraps, or complete challenges in Sandbox mode - Added hired hitmen to the main game who will search for the detective - The chance for a hitman to appear increases as clues, suspects, and days are accumulated - Killing hitmen will not anger any factions and will prevent any more for a while - Added unique screen overlays for each costume pair Gameplay Changes: - Camera shifted slightly so the player is more centric - Each hitman eliminated will provide a significant score boost - Hitmen will show up much sooner and much more often on Hard and Impossible modes - NPCs may warn the player when a hitman is currently searching for them - Slowed hostile NPC's initial shooting times slightly on all modes - Slower shooting only affects the first shot, so players can load in and react better Fixes and Improvements: - The 'Costumes' menu now gives tips depending on how many scraps you currently own - Replaced "Challenge Points" with "Hitmen Killed" in the 'Statistics' menu - Challenge Points can still be viewed within the Notebook - Minor AI improvements - Minor bug fixes

Noir Syndrome Version 1.6 will be releasing later this week. Compared to the past updates, this one is definitely on the larger side. An all new "Sandbox" mode that provides freedom from both time and hunger will allow players to experiment at their leisure. The other major change in this patch is the addition of hitmen. As you get closer to solving a case, the killer will hire hitmen to track you down and try to stop you. On the other hand, eliminating hitmen gives a substantial score bonus.
There's plenty more then just those major features, so check out the full patch notes below!
