Hello everyone and a belated Happy 2023! It’s normally around this time that we would write a recap of the previous year’s endeavors, and believe me, there were a lot: returning to real-world events, becoming a Twitch Affiliate, introducing new game modes, publishing the Free Admission version of Mondrian – Plastic Reality, you name it, we did it. But that is not why I’m here today. I am here to talk about pricing.
You have likely seen a lot of news lately about Steam prices being readjusted to match exchange rates, and yes, we will be doing the same, but also striving to be as fair as possible about it. With that in mind, we thought we would give you a heads-up as to the incoming changes.
For both Mondrian – Abstraction in Beauty and Mondrian – Plastic Reality, we will be equalizing prices on Steam across all territories on March 1. Why are we doing this? Well, put simply, the disparity between currencies, as it stands, is staggering. While Plastic Reality is $14.99 USD, it can be purchased for half that amount or less in nearly half of all territories, and also ABOVE retail price in a couple others. For the sake of customers in all territories, we felt it was necessary to balance the pricing across the board. However, before these changes take effect, BOTH GAMES WILL BE ON SALE between February 20 and 27, 34% off for Plastic Reality and 51% off for Abstraction in Beauty. This will put Plastic Reality under $10 for the first time ever! If you have had the games on your Wishlist for a while, make sure to do so now so you don’t miss the upcoming sale.
We realize that even with the discount, the game may still be too expensive for some. If that is the case, we encourage you to download the Free Admission demo of Plastic Reality to check out what the game has to offer and start getting involved in our welcoming, creative community. We keep the demo up to date too so you will never fall behind on bug fixes or new features!
Some news about the next major update – or “Movement” – for Mondrian – Plastic Reality will be coming pretty soon. We are attempting to tackle some long-requested changes, so it may take a little while. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, thank you for your understanding, continued support, and as always, for playing. Here’s to a big 2023!

Support Us with Hello Fresh
Keen eyes may have noticed we are back on Twitch streaming Mondrian a couple times a week! We were recently lucky enough to have been offered a Hello Fresh sponsorship for our stream, and the funds from said sponsorship would go a long way toward helping to cover development costs. 100% of what we raise will go toward development, particularly improving the user generated content experience for Mondrian. Plus, you get FREE FOOD! What's not to love?

As we close out another Makersmas and head into 2023, we just wanted to thank our playerbase for their continued support. It never gets old seeing your creations on Workshop week after week. There are still a few days left to grab your free Gems and Cosmetics from the Museum, not to mention the per-round Makersmas bonus, so stock up on those extra Gems while you can!
We will have a recap of 2022 in the next couple weeks, along with some announcements about where we're taking things in 2023.
Thank you all for being here, thank you for playing, have a wonderful New Years's Eve and Day, and we will see you in 2023!
Merry Makersmas, everybody! The Steam Winter Sale is here, and Mondrian - Plastic Reality is 25% off. Also the original Abstraction in Beauty and its soundtrack is 51% off. If you've been missing out on this one-of-a-kind arcade experience, and winner of the 2022 BostonFIG Fest Accessibility and Inclusion award, this is a great chance for you to catch up!
Don't forget that exclusively in Plastic Reality for the rest of the month, we are running our annual Makersmas event. You can earn daily Cosmetics and Gems from the trees in the Museum, and every round gives you a BIG number of bonus gems when somebody uses #makersmas on Twitter or on our Discord.
Click the links above to learn more about the games.
We hope you all have a fun & festive Christmas weekend! Thank you for playing & we'll see you in 2023.
Merry third week of Makersmas, everybody! It's been a busy one, as we brought the game to the MassDiGI Holiday Party and got to show off the game on Steam Deck for the first time! Although note to us: Steam Deck + Steam Controller might be a bit too much unfamiliar technology for the average player. Still, it was a great time, and if you're joining us from there, welcome! Remember that you can use #makersmas on Twitter, or in the #gala-submissions channel on our Discord to add to the Gem pool, and gain lots of points after every round. But now that we are on to week 3, it's time to see what your latest prompt is.
Your Weekly Optional Art Prompt Is Action!
Right in line with the party a couple days ago, it's time to show off Mondrian - Plastic Reality in action! Maybe you'd like to upload a Let's Play to Youtube, run a livestream on Twitch, or even get the game up and running on some unconventional platforms or in unexpected places. Share you photos, gifs, videos, gameplay, and high-octane screenshots. However you want to interpret this prompt to share your Mondrian gameplay is completely up to you.
How to Participate
Share your pictures or videos with the theme "Action!" on Twitter or in the gala-submissions channel on our Discord using the hashtag #makersmas.
For every post using this hashtag, 5 points will be added to the community Gem Pool.
When you play any Quick Play mode in Mondrian - Plastic Reality (Free Admission or Lifetime Pass), or when you collect your daily Gem Gift in the Museum (Lifetime Pass only), the cumulative value of this pool will be added to your Gem Score.
It's time to see how you can capture the game in action! Before we close out, we want to thank our friends at MassDiGI and Petricore Games for putting on a fantastic industry get-together the other day, and extend one last big welcome to all the new players joining us from the event. Thank you for playing, and once again, Merry Makersmas.
Merry second week of Makersmas, everybody! So far, we've managed to raise the Gem Pool to 65 points! That means any time anyone completes a round in any Quick Play mode or grabs their daily Gem Bonus in the Museum, they're gaining an extra 65 Gems too. That's going to add up quick, so make sure to take advantage while you can! Remember that you can use #makersmas on Twitter, or in the #gala-submissions channel on our Discord to add to the pool. But now that we are on to week 2, it's time to see what your latest prompt is.
Your Weekly Optional Art Prompt Is Camera!
Did you know Mondrian - Plastic Reality comes with its own photo mode? It's called Mondrian Studio, and you can access it from the Mondrian Maker level editor. Open up a creation of your choice, click the Play button, and select "Open in Studio." Then, you can stylize the creation however you want, and select "Copy to Clipboard." Paste this image in a tweet, using #makersmas of course, or share it on Discord, to add to the Gem Pool!
If you need to brush up on how to use Mondrian Studio, we have a tutorial video you can watch.
There are also some other ways you could interpret this prompt. Maybe you want to take a screenshot of your in-game Museum. Maybe you're actually a photographer and want to share your work with the community! What you do with it is completely up to you, and we're excited to see what you share.
How to Participate
Share your pictures or videos with the theme "Camera!" on Twitter or in the gala-submissions channel on our Discord using the hashtag #makersmas.
It's time to capture those magical, holiday moments! Thank you for playing, and once again, Merry Makersmas.
Merry Makersmas, everybody! We've been hard at work to update our annual Makersmas celebration into something really special, so this year we're turning it into a Community Gala. We want you to always be sharing your creativity with the world, and what better way to start off the season of lights than by showing off how Mondrian - Plastic Reality can light up your world!
Your Weekly Optional Art Prompt Is Lights!
Have you got a Razer Chroma RGB setup? Let's see those lights in action while playing Mondrian – Plastic Reality! We want to see those beautiful, dynamic color harmonies come to life in your space. Whether it's your mouse, keyboard, headphones, LED strips, Nanoleaf Panels, Twinkly lights, or anything else in the Chroma family, Mondrian will light it up. Set up your scene, grab your phone, and let's see what you can do!
Haven't got Mondrian yet? Don't worry! The game's Razer Chroma RGB functionality comes included with the Free Admission demo as well. Go download it!
Haven't got or not sure if you've got any Razer Chroma RGB devices? Also fine! You can view a full list of Chroma compatible devices here. If you've got your Christmas lights up, feel free to share those too! For that matter, any other light will do: candles, wintry sunsets, whatever fits the theme. We're all-inclusive.
How to Participate
Share your pictures or videos with the theme "Lights!" on Twitter or in the gala-submissions channel on our Discord using the hashtag #makersmas.

Our annual holiday celebration, Makersmas, returns to Mondrian - Plastic Reality on December 1! This year, we'll be doing things a little differently, and instead of a Competitive Gala, we will be running Makersmas as a Community Gala, which means most of the activity will take place outside of the game. Read on for how we'll be managing things a little differently this time around. We think you'll like it.
Weekly Prompts
Each week you'll be given a new prompt here on Steam, and it won't just be for Mondrian Maker creations. You'll get to share your creations, your Museums, screenshots, gifs, videos, and more. Certain community actions, like using #makersmas on Twitter, will add points to the Community Gem Pool. When you finish a round in any Quick Play mode, or grab your daily Gems from the Gem Tree, you'll earn the Gems from the pool too! These Gems will be cumulative all month long, meaning the more you share, the more everyone earns. All you have to do is follow the weekly prompts here and on our Discord. We in turn will share your posts, and Maker creations in particular on the Mondrian Makers Instagram account. Let's see how high up we can get the Community Gem Pool before New Year's Eve!
Charity Endeavor
During December, we'll be jumping onto our Twitch stream once in a while to raise money for Give Kids the Arts and the International Arts Foundation for Kids.
"Give Kids The Arts is a branch of the International Arts Foundation for Kids (IAFK), a registered 501(c)(3). We collect new art supplies, new and gently used music, and dance equipment, lessons, studio time, tickets to museums, shows, and concerts and distribute these items to less fortunate children in our communities where artistic pursuit can be difficult."
Our donation campaign for the month will go live on December 1, and we will be live every Thursday afternoon in December to reach or surpass our goal. Please join us, follow and raid the channel, and donate if you can. Hope to see you there!
Incoming Update
On November 30, version 1.4.5 of Mondrian - Plastic Reality will go live. This update will also include brand new Makersmas and other Spotlight Artworks in the Museum. Makersmas does not officially start until the next day, but will go live automatically at the stroke of midnight EST, December 1, and will run through 11:59pm on December 31. As usual, while Makersmas is live, you'll be able to grab daily gifts from both trees in the Museum. If you want to grab the elusive "Makersmas Goodies" (open 10 Cosmetic Gifts), "Makersmas Riches" (open 10 Gem gifts), and "Makersmas Avarice" (open 40 gifts total) Achievements, you have the whole month to do it.
Updating to the latest version is necessary if you want the benefits of the Community Gem Pool. An internet connection is required to access Makersmas features.
We're extremely excited for this new take on Makersmas and we hope you'll come be a part of it! See you very very soon, and as always, thank you for playing.
Hello to everybody joining us from Steam Scream Fest! With the Lifetime Pass for Mondrian - Plastic Reality being 25% off, we'd like to extend a cordial invitation to our annual Pumpkin Patch Gala, where you can create Jack O'Lanterns in our level editor, Mondrian Maker, and submit them on Steam Workshop or Discord for a chance at fun prizes.
If you'd like a shot at a couple thousand Steam Points and seeing your creation in our in-game Museum exhibit next year, visit the full Art Hallow's Eve post for all the details!
Spooky Gem Hunt
The Halloween celebrations don't end with the art contest though. One of our oldest game modes, Gem Hunt, which dates back to Mondrian - Abstraction in Beauty, has been modified this month into Spooky Gem Hunt! Normally this game mode is based on going Double or Nothing on your collected Gems in between each round. For the next week though, you go Trick or Treating between each round, and the game will give you a random bonus or spooky effect. Use your collected Gems to build up your Art Museum in Adventure Mode, now with brand new "Hangar" cosmetics as part of the latest Art Hallow's Eve update.
Get the Game!
Mondrian - Plastic Reality is currently 25% off for the Steam Scream Fest, but if you'd like to try it and the Mondrian Maker editor out first, you can download the Free Admission demo. Both are available for PC on the game's Steam page.
Free Admission players are also welcome to participate in our Pumpkin Patch Gala. After your creations have uploaded to your Steam profiles, just post the links on our Discord in the #gala-submission channel.
Looking forward to seeing what your Jack O'Lanterns! Thank you for playing, and Happy Halloween, Art Hallow's Eve, and Scream Fest!
