How's your summer tan? It's time to relax a bit in the shade and complete new tasks in Braveland. And, of course, prizes and gifts will go to the most daring and persistent players.
It is not safe on the roads these days. Only the laziest bandit haven’t rob a caravan yet. The King will generously reward those volunteers who will manage to clean the southern tract from the robbers.
Orcs armada is using new tactic against the forest defenders. Enchanted by dark magic, thorns using their roots to entangle noble Unicorns and ferocious Bears, thus making them an easy prey for goblins. The Prince of Elves asks the heroes of Braveland to thin the enemy out and help to cope with this scourge.
Elves' victory was so close when Orc leaders sent heavy reinforcements to the Eternal Forest approaches. Hordes of distraught ancient trees and ogres push elven army remnants to a cliff. The elf prince is asking for urgent help from his allies.
Hop into the game and complete this new event. It will only last a few days, so hurry up. Have a good game!
The second, and potentially last major update for POPGOES Arcade on Steam is here! 2.2.0 features plenty of bug fixes, optimisations, and BRAND NEW FEATURES!
Be aware that this update has a major bug where, if you don't have a save file for the game already, it won't make one. This is being fixed in 2.2.1. Please check the troubleshooting post in the Discussions forum for a workaround in the meantime.
The Dead Forest and general fixes/additions:
NEW: Introducing "Corruption Hotspots"! When you defeat BB, corrupt puddles will appear in the three main forests, which you can walk through for a super-high enemy encounter rate. Corruption Hotspots have three positions per forest which they will cycle between over time, so go looking for them! This should make BB's hitlists a little less tedious. Enjoy!
NEW: You can now force keyboard controls from the "STORY"/intro screen if the game is falsely detecting a controller. Those of you who were stuck on this screen... Be stuck no longer!
The navigation of The Bestiary and The Index has been overhauled. Moving the cursor across the matrix horizontally will no longer snap it to the bottom of the column.
The currently selected colour for Popgoes' vest/eyes is now reflected on the title screen of the game.
The cap for items is x99, but having this amount would sometimes display x100 in the UI for Holly's Shop. Fixed!
MID-GAME SPOILER: Dead Boar and Gilded Dead Boar had incorrect stats on their Bestiary pages. Fixed!
MID-GAME SPOILER: The "STATS" section of the E menu has been resized to give all four of BB's upgrades some more breathing room.
The Machinist fixes/additions:
NEW: Introducing "Gilded Popgoes"! When you reach 200% completion, you will be given the option to swap out your top hat for a gilded one in your room at each inn. Doing this will transform you into Gilded Popgoes. This will turn you bright gold, change your name in battles, and give you a snazzy particle effect! This should work in cutscenes, the title screen, and be compatible with all paints. It even stays when you start a new game! Enjoy!
A special indicator will now appear in the bedroom when you have "seen something you shouldn't have".
THE DEAD FOREST SPOILER: The clippable wall in The Castle no longer has an out-of-place sprite after moving to The Machinist.
FINAL BOSS SPOILER: The Machinist now heals for 100 health for every turn that it takes to defeat Prototype Manora. It was originally 120.
FINAL BOSS SPOILER: The damage rate of The Machinist's laser pillar has been doubled, however can now be reduced by DEF+. It will still bypass shields (not a bug).
200% SPOILER: If you encountered CAM7 directly after fighting the secret boss, for example through its index page, then CAM7's battle background would be the secret boss's. Fixed!
Citizen Sleeper’s first episodic DLC, FLUX, is launching as a free update to the game on July 28th! FLUX will kick off a new story arc that will play out across three episodes.
Pressures in the Helion system have brought the first ships of a refugee flotilla to Erlin’s Eye. You will meet and help those that get on-station before the quarantine locks them out.
FLUX will kick off a new overarching storyline that plays out across all three episodes, expanding on the wider narrative of the Helion System, the star system in which the Eye orbits.
The storyline will also introduce a number of new characters, the first of which is Eshe, captain of the Climbing Briar. A stubborn and driven spacer, Eshe’s fate becomes tangled up in that of the flotilla. Her story will challenge the player to choose how to deal with a growing crisis that could threaten the entire station.
In FLUX, you’ll also cross paths with Peake, the second member of the Climbing Briar’s crew. They have a cooler head than their captain, and an ability to disappear when necessary. The player will get to know more about them as they work to make a plan to get much needed relief through the quarantine to the refugee flotilla.
Citizen Sleeper will receive two more episode updates after FLUX, both for free.

So, I am no longer a one man band and finally have some HELP on these games from my son, Liam!
Progress is being made.
I'm just gonna write one short announcement about all three of my current games putting them on all their Steam pages. Someday I'll have more free time and less commitments... maybe I can even hire a marketing type person who knows how to do this stuff.
The current plan is to release this as an Early Access game. Online multiplayer is now working. Some of the newer holes are too hard and they need work. Also I want to add some newer design elements for the multiplayer BLAST part of the game.
It'd be nice to get this out in September/October and then adjust the holes based on feedback from that release. What a difference from the old days in the 1980s when there was no connection with the folks that played my games.
I'll update the official Steam release date after sitting down and going over everything thoroughly, I think, last I looked, the release date was set to is something like 1996 or so (kidding).
Here are a few screen shots of current build showing launching an online multiplayer game:
The Mighty Knights stuff still needs more work to be fun. It can't be worked on though until the Early Access version of Minigolf Blast is out the door. There are also some interfaces things that I'd like to get fixed up - just to make editing things smoother and easier.
Tentative release timeline: Before Christmas (this year - really!)
Not much of anything left to do with this very casual game. Most likely will drop the price or just make it free sometime in the future. I think I made one of the achievements for it too hard. Not sure if I can or should change it.
Opus One
This is a possible future game project. In the 1970s I wrote computer games in BASIC on an 8kb Wang computer that my high school had. I may recreate that experience for everyone along with the games and code that I wrote back then.
Here is the computer I worked on back then and also my Star Trek game code:
