BUG FIX - A cave was removed on Coby Island by mistake resulting in a Hole on the map. The cave was added back.
Optimazation - A delay/lag in firing of arrows in MP improved. Its not perfect yet but as I optimize network lag and performance it will get better.
Optimization - Reduction in replicated ojbects on the map to improve overall network lag in MP games. The most noticable change is that some POIs have doors open or missing by default and can't be interacted with.

This small update is mainly to address multiplayer performance.

BUG FIX - Doors would sometimes jitter/lag when opening and closing them in MP games.
BUG FIX - Lag when opening loot containers such as counters, desks etc in MP games.
BUG FIX - Lag/jitter when walking and running in MP Games
BUG FIX - Lag when opening crafting stations, such as campfire, forge etc.
CHANGE - Changes to the Motel POI. Only has 1 floor now.

Hi everyone,

Experimental V6 will now be pushed to the public branch. Thank you to everyone that helped debug it. Below is a complete list of all changes and additions. There are a few known bugs still that I will be fixing in the next couple of days but nothing seems to be major or game breaking.

A new game will be required if anything version prior to V6.01. All older saved games will not work. Below is a list of all the changes to V6.

Map and Environment:

We have spent a large portion of time on level design. Most Islands have been remodeled, some new ones added and some removed from the game.

- Dead Island is now much larger (starter island)
- A new desert biome Island has been added (Dry Island)
- Removal of Treasure, Frost and Drake Islands
- The old Skull and Betrayal Islands have been merged with Dead Island
- 2 news Islands have now become Skull and Betrayal
- Addition of some small towns and the beginning of a road network
- All friendly AI such as the Trader and Arms Dealer are no longer on Trader Island. (More info on AI below)
- Removal of ferries to encourage the use of vehicles more often.
- More caves have been added including on Dead Island, however only iron. For other resources players still need to access the caves on other Islands. Oil Shale exclusive caves in the desert biome.
- 2 new palm trees in the desert biome that give 10 wood and 10 plant fiber. (A few scattered on the shores of other Islands)
- 2 new cactus plants in the desert Biome that give 3 plant fiber and 2 Prickly Pear Fruits. (A few scattered on the shores of other Islands)
- Prickly Pear fruit acquired from cactus plants yield 6 carbs, 12 hours perish time
- Desert Biome temperature adjusted to be hot
- Removed small pine bushes that give plant fiber.
- All trees now give 5 Plant Fiber when cut down.




Friendly and Aggressive AI:

The game now has 4 Friendly AI and the addition of a new and improved humanoid Aggressive AI.

- Trader: now spawns randomly in a barn on Dead Island
- Arms Dealer: Now spawns randomly in a store on Skull Island
- Mechanic: Spawns randomly in a garage on Dead Island
- Pharmacist: Spawns randomly in a pharmacy on Dead Island
- Aggressive AI now called Guards (not hunters anymore) roam the forests and patrol the towns. AI respawn once killed even in the towns, unlike in previous version where they did not. Thanks to Iron Belly Studios, they are developing our new AI and we are starting to deploy some of their work in this next version of the game. Although we are deploying just the basic versions of these new AIs, they now move smoother, smarter, reload their guns and not have endless ammo in their guns. They can also retreat when low on health and can call other close by AI to come assist them. We will be constantly improving upon this base AI over the next few updates.

Vehicles:

- Addition of drivable cars that can be purchased from the Mechanic for Gold.
- Changes to how the Boat is crafted. You now need to purchase a Boat Hull from the mechanic.
- Changes to how the Helicopter is crafted. You need to purchase certain components from the Mechanic.



New POIs:

- Addition of residential homes
- Addition of a Local Pharmacy
- Addition of a Local Restaurant
- Addition of a small Mechanics Garage
- Addition of Barns
- Addition of a Church
- Addition of industrial Buildings
- All barns contain a plant bed for early game use if needed.




Loot:

- Items in all container such as garbage bags etc now only spawn their inventories once opened. The result of this change improves performance but most importantly, food does not start its perish timer until players loot them.
- Players should notice a huge decrease in garbage bags and backpacks scattered around the map. All POIs now contain the bulk of loots. Most furniture and appliances can now be looted in most POIs. (Fridges, Ovens, Counters, Desks etc.)
- All loot in POIs now respawn after 10 game days.
- It is now possible to have empty loot containers, 50/50 change of it containing nothing.


Items:

- Added purchasable Cars
- Added Prickly Fruit
- Added a Boat Hull purchasable at the Mechanic.
- I have also increased the durability of most tools and weapons.

Maps and Markers:

- Added a minimap that can be toggled on/off showing player location and markers.
- New interactive larger map added in the inventory Tab. Players can add a marker to assist in reaching specific points on the map. (very useful when driving cars)
- All maps show more detail now such as towns and roads.


Bug Fixes:

I will not list all the bug fixes here because it is a very long list but many multiplayer bugs have been fixed as well as some old lingering bugs I meant to fix for a while.

BUG FIX - Could not drop the splint item from inventory.
BUG FIX - Boat would slowy drift when not in it, should be fixed now. This was also true in MP games resulting in the client and server versions of the boat being in two different locations. Please let me know if you still see any issues.
BUG FIX - AI were not spawning on Skull and Betrayal.
CHANGE - Many were having issues with their animals spawning when adding them to the Coup, Barn and Hut. I have now changed that entire process. Animals added will no longer spawn and walk around. They will drop the items like before but to butcher them now, simply right click on the Icon and a butcher option will appear. This should help MP performance as well. I may re visit the feature of having them roam the map at a later time but for now the performance hit with 20-30 animals wandering around in close proximity is not worth it.

Note: Player games loaded with animals already in the file will need to remove them from their house and be re added. If this step is not taken, they will no longer drop Items or level up. Sadly they will start at level one again. Any animals already there prior to the update will still be there for you to butcher.

BUG FIX - AI would not spawn on Coby Island.
BUG FIX - Road collisions still had some issues, I think I fixed them all now.
CHANGE - I removed several caves because they were performance hogs but I have now identified caves on the both the mini map and larger map with a subtle cave icon.

CHANGE - Animals no longer block cars when driving into them. Cars wont flip out of control anymore when hitting them.
BUG FIX - Some road collisions were not right resulting in Cars being flipped or blocked from driving on.
BUG FIX - Car Lights were not always working.
BUG FIX - Clients could not see plants being planted in the Plant Bed in MP Games.
BUG FIX - Players could sometimes not get out of the car unless fully stopped, especially true in MP games.

OPTIMAZATION – Clients experience lag in multiplayer games, I have started to track down and fix a few reasons. It is not perfect yet but much better. Cars would stutter when driving, delay in shooting projectiles with guns, things of that nature.
BUG FIX - AI Markers on the map when found were not showing up when clients load game in MP.
BUG FIX - Was able to delete a Gun Safe used in a quest.
BUG FIX - All car engine sounds were not being heard by the client when the server player was driving it.

Hi Everyone,

Seems a few bugs have come up with the new engine version that will take some days to fix.

In the meantime, I have sent in this update to revert back to the previous engine version.

All the V6.06 changes are included in this V6.07 Version.

CHANGE - Upgraded to version 4.21 of the Unreal Engine. This will result in a large 1GB + download of this update.
BUG FIX - Bow not working on client correctly, 2 arrows were being shot.
BUG FIX - Opening loot containers would sometimes result in players getting stuck and not being able to close the containers.
BUG FIX - Client/Server player pawn out of sync. Sometimes players would see other players in different locations.
BUG FIX - Fixed some missing textures when equipping the miners helmet.
BUG FIX - On death, would not always spawn at your bed.
BUG FIX - Both the Pharmacist and Mechanic were not refreshing/respawning their items every morning at 8AM.
BUG FIX - Removed Car collsion vs human players by mistake, now added back.
CHANGE - Mechanic now sells nails also. Can be hard to find them in loot to start a base, so here is one more option.
CHANGE - Increased the range of gas the mechanic sells. Used to be between 2 and 5, now its between 5 and 10.
