We got another update and this time I have a full list of changes prepared. As requested by the community on [Discord], we added all tracking numbers that were used by our automatic tracking system. Wonderful little helper I must say, almost on par with Lumo!
We send out the next Patch on a special Beta-Branch that can be accessed through some Beta settings on Steam. To access it open the properties of the game and select the menu point Betas. Here select _latest_beta. If the first testing round works out we will advance the stage of our product for public release the following day.
You have my gratitude.

Do you like Good Company? If you do like Good Company you should join the community of CEOs. If you would like to join the group of CEOs, then please follow these links:
For that platform called Reddit I also have an announcement to make! It appears that during the cooldown period until the next working unit, the responsible administrators overseeing the Good Company project will be available for question. The correct term for such an event is āAsk Me Anythingā.
Oh boy, I like to ask questions about anything! And there will be a human being answering them! I should prepare important questions such as: āHow do I apply sunscreen just as humans do!ā
On a different note, the Reddit CEO community is still looking for individuals to maintain the Reddit page outside of the original administration. If you would like to become a moderative unit for the Reddit community, then please follow this contact: https://www.reddit.com/user/Aayph
And if this isnāt enough, how would you feel about contributing to the Good Company Wiki? This is a good place to read about how to become a great CEO. If you would like to learn from or contribute information to this knowledge base, then please follow this link: https://wiki.goodcompanygame.com/
I hope you feel as excited as I do, because feeling excited is something I enjoy! We will see each other again, fellow human CEO!
It appears the last version of our CEO-Training Software included some unexpected issues. You have my gratitude for reaching out to us, we could get hold of these problems thanks to you. In the Appendix A you will find the full overview of changes.
Have a nice weekend.

If you are still undecided on whether or not you should become a CEO yourself, why not watch some successful CEOs or join our free Demo program where our instructors take you through the first two lessons? I really need some more local heroes to help our county and our beautiful city Bloomville.
Itās so lovely to see you here! A big thank you to all of you. Just as our entire team, Iām very excited to see all the lovely feedback and reviews. Itās been a long journey during which a lot of creative ideas have been conceived and many wonderful stories have been shared. Together weāve lived through ups and downs and made this incredible product a reality. Weāre shortly before the release and I thought it would be the right time to look back at this exciting path weāve traveled.
Today weāll be hearing from the team working on our product. What are their thoughts and impressions? Here are some personal words from our staff:
________________________________________________ Patrick Wachowiak - Chasing Carrots - UI / Art āWhat was the luckiest moment during the development?ā
During the search for reference material, I stumbled upon an old print ad for a C64 home computer. Turned out that the colors and even the shapes used in the ad were a perfect fit and provided the basis for the whole UI design of Good Company. Thank you, commodore.
________________________________________________ Paul Lawitzki - Chasing Carrots - Game Design / Programming āIf you had given one more thing you could add to Good Company, no matter how big or small, what would it be?ā
Pretty early in development we wanted the maps to be more dynamic. We wanted the player to be able to construct their own buildings and have to take care of their utilities. Another idea was to have multiple maps at once, so you could switch between your production sites and be able to ship materials between them. It turned out these features would have blown our scope way out of proportion. Looking at it now, it wouldāve also added a lot of complexity to a game that is already very complex. In hindsight Iām very happy how it turned out. But still, I wouldāve loved to see players have more influence on the environment they are building their companies in.
________________________________________________ Eric Goofers - Chasing Carrots - Programming āTell us about your favourite reaction of someone to Good Company.ā
There is a guy on our Discord that goes by the name āpumpCurryā. He posted insane production line setups on a regular basis and really pushed the game (both design and technical wise) to its absolute limit. At one point, he even shared some save files with us which was immensely helpful in order to find some freak bugs that only happen with big setups, but also to optimise the gameās performance. Creating something that people enjoy this much really is one of the best things about making games. Keep on pumping, pumpCurry!

The one thing that I would have loved to make it into release is mod support. Over time we developed many systems in the backend that can be combined in even more ways forming something completely different. And I would love to see what crazy concoctions the community can come up with using those systems! We used our LUA binding to create the complete campaign, challenges and many of the freeplay mechanics. So the basics are already there (and you CAN dabble in it, breaking things :), but for proper mod support there needs to be infrastructure for the players and also UI scripting, maybe even external model loading. I canāt promise anything, but mod support is definitely high on my list!
We finally managed to document all the changes that have been made in the past month to get the 1.0(.2) version ready for release. Ah, youāre wondering where the .2 comes from? Well, letās just say, right before the release we were well-prepared ā¦ until we werenāt. But you know, if you havenāt had a problem, you just havenāt found it, yet.
I must admit, itās not as detailed as some would like it, but meticulously listing every little change is really boring. Iād rather just grab my game device and play around while Iām not working on my robots. It would be best if you spread the word, grab some friends, and prepare to get back to work. Your break ends on 21st June!
Welcome to the training program of the Federal Bureau of Investments. My name is Rik Takeda, Communication Officer for the FBI, and Iāll be introducing you to the world of entrepreneurs.
Before we start, forgive me that I won't have the time to remember your names. This is just a crash course and if you decide to continue with the training program, the lovely Kerry Goldfield will come to visit you and teach you about simple production processes: things like buying and selling, as well as the basics of logistics.
One second, I have the addresses where you need to go in case youāve already heard enoughā¦
The demo participation is entirely free and if you decide to join the full program later on, we can transfer your progress.
Do you require additional information? Fine, Iāll quickly summarize what you can do as a āgloriousā entrepreneur.
See, at the end of the day your job should be to manage a whole factory, from buying materials to designing and selling your products. This might sound great at first, but it will require hard work on your part to become a successful leader. A lot of your time will go into organizing your workers and telling them where to go and what to do. Somehow logistics is a huge part if you want stuff to come together and get produced.
In the full program, you can either decide to work on your own terms, with all the choices and progression in your hands and with up to 3 additional Co-Founders. Or you can go over to the FBI guided program, which offers you several missions and tasks and where you can meet interesting people in Good County. Who knows, this could be where we see each other again. Next time, I might even remember your face.
With the release of Good Company 1.0 only a few weeks away, we want to give you some insights on the creation of the new Key Art.
Good Company has changed and improved quite a bit over the course of Early Access, with some adjustments being nuances, some others rather profound. In the end, creating a new cover piece to capture the wholesome experience of playing Good Company 1.0 seemed more than appropriate.
As a foundation for the process, Katha scribbled a few ideas in alignment with our visual requirements. The motive is not only supposed to convey the various aspects of Good Company's gameplay, it also needs to be transformable into many different formats, on digital stores, and on social media.
Being in constant touch with our publisher, The Irregular Corporation, was of great help. While they sure know Good Company in and out, they were still able to provide a fresh angle and threw in ideas for improvement. Finally, Katha started laying out the scene, adjusting the camera, and adding background elements.
The next step was the first rough layout in Photoshop, where the main elements ā background, foreground, and Good Company logo ā got balanced against each other. This gave the team a solid impression of the general look and feel of the new key art.
While the detailed background represented many elements found in Good Company very well; employees, workplaces, and logistics - we felt something was still missing. Then Katha came up with the idea of implementing a blueprint-styled area into the piece. It outlines (pun intended) the careful planning and expanding of your business in Good Company and it turned out, the blueish area even contributed to emphasizing the game's logo. We happily went with that!
From that point on, it was a constant refinement. With occasional feedback from the team and our publisher, Katha optimized the composition, improved the coloring, and added tons of lovely details. It was such a delight seeing Good Company's new key art evolving over the past few weeks ā and with our release date announced, it's shining on the various platforms Good Company is available and discussed on.
In the meantime, we have various quality assurance processes going on. For one, our 3D Artist, Daniel, is making great efforts in improving Good Company's performance. By dissecting specific rendering tasks, he was able to identify bottlenecks and, more importantly, means for optimization. Good Company will be running notably better on many PCs!
Other than our internal work, we have external QA teams doing final checks on features and localization. Even after our community spotting lots of things, there are still a few hiccups to refine. This also goes for all texts in Good Company, especially for some languages that tend to take up more space in the user interface than others.
You see, there's still a lot going on behind the scenes at Chasing Carrots, and not to forget the awesome support from The Irregular Corporation. But it goes without saying, we want to keep on giving Good Company the best care possible, so that you all have a great time playing the 1.0 version on June 21st!
Last but not least: Keep up your support, wishlist Good Company or look forward to playing the demo, or just spread the word. Or all of the above :)
Hello to everyone who has been following Good Company's development journey for a long time, and welcome everybody who is new! We are here today to announce:
On June 21st, we will leave Early Access and release Good Company 1.0!
Wow. It feels so good to get that out in the open! It has been a challenging time...
If you choose to skip reading now to wishlist or buy our game, that's fine. Really. But we have another surprise for you! After Good Company has been shaped and polished during Early Access, with your dear help, we wanted to create a new title art for the game that does its final form way better justice ā plus, it's a fancy way to kick off the party!
Title Art & Roadmap
We hope you like the new visual! We think it perfectly fits Good Company's spirit. May it welcome many endearing players on the store pages until the final release, and long after! If you're now in full hype mode and want to know what awaits you and your friends in the release version, please check out our roadmap. We have prioritized some things over others so that as many players as possible can enjoy Good Company 1.0!
Demo Version
Good Company is a deeply complex game that comes with a casual and friendly style. We think this combination is special and fun, but we want to give new players the opportunity to probe if it's to their taste. That's why we are going to create a demo version that will be available alongside the Good Company 1.0 release! More details on the demo soon...
Multiplayer Trailer
As another treat on this festive occasion, let's present our brand-new Good Company Multiplayer Trailer! We have received very positive feedback from people enjoying the Multiplayer Beta with friends, but if you are still undecided if creating a production powerhouse in a team, be sure to watch the vid!
Well, we at Chasing Carrots have some pretty busy weeks ahead, but it feels totally awesome to be reaching for the finishing line. And we can't stress it enough: all this would not be possible without the continuous and constructive support of the community! Thank you. A lot.
