On the Boundless Rain, a lonely island, once was a hidden settlement, where a young Takeda grew up learning the ways of the sword, following the path of the rain. A technique that combines the sharpness of the sword and the gentleness of the water.

He spent his time training in the ways of the sword while also developing his calligraphy, poetry, and drawing. He swiftly surpassed other students thanks to his exceptional talent, earning the praise and admiration of his masters and elders.
A humble disciple, Takeda was immersed in his training, gradually becoming a pillar for his village. No one could cross swords with him, not even his masters.

But all that changed the day Takeda was summoned by the Chief of the Village, before all the elders. The chief revealed the secret about the ancestors of the boundless Rain Village. They formed part of a famous sword sect with the sole purpose of capturing and sealing demons. The sect was destroyed in a surprise attack, and a number of demons managed to escape. Barely able to escape, the sole survivor of this attack, a member of the sward sect, fled west until he reached the ocean.

He became the founder of the Boundless Rain Village, but he was not alone; a powerful demon had been sealed on him. The Chief proceeded to explain how the village was guarding the demon seals and how they managed to imprison Ayakashi, inside the most powerful samurai around.
Takeda was shocked by this revelation, but he quickly accepted his fate as the next vessel, accepting it as his destiny.

The moon was high in the sky as the ceremony commenced and the old chief began to release the demon from his soul. To prevent any mishap, all elders were guarding him, but nobody could anticipate what followed.

The island started to tremble as the Evil Gods invaded it and Ayakashi broke free from his seal. A massacre was inevitable, from which only two of the island inhabitants survived: the Old Chief and a young genius, Takeda. The demon spared them so that they could witness the horrors of his bloodthirsty wrath.

As tears fell from Takeda’s eyes, an unknown power brewed inside him. With all his strength, he sealed the demon in the closest thing to him, a Calabash.

The demon’s soul and Takeda’s were now fused. He took it upon himself to bury all the villagers before departing. From that moment, he travelled the globe, never lingering, for he feared to get too comfortable and find a place to call home and eventually bring havoc there.
RAIDBORN - Phoenix

I have some news to share. Together with a new trailer, I have just announced that RAIDBORN will enter Steam Early Access on 29th March 2023. The only reason this date may change is if other large releases get announced for the period, but I hope that won't happen.

To better represent the current state and to clearly communicate what the game offers, I gave the Steam store page and website a makeover, so it makes sense to check them out again. Let me know what you think about it, especially if you have already played the game. Maybe I am missing something?

Lastly, I would like to announce that the game now also is on GameJolt and https://phodex-games.itch.io/raidborn. There is more cool stuff to be announced soon, so stay tuned.

It’s been great seeing you enjoying and sharing your Battle of Nordvik event gameplay clips over the holidays - especially for Breakthrough Chaos!

On January 17 at 09:00 UTC we’ll roll out our first Update of the year which resolves several immediate issues, and adds balance changes to weapons and vehicles which you’ve highlighted to us throughout the Holidays.

We’re also expanding the Battlefield™ 1942 Arsenal for Battlefield Portal, as part of this update you’ll be able to use the Mk VI Revolver, Gewehr 43, Gewehr 43 ZF4, M1 Garand Sniper, No 4 and the Sten within Battlefield Portal Experiences.

You can expect a more substantial set of changes coming later this month in Update 3.2.0 alongside the reworked Breakaway map, and the return to Classes.

Battlefield Portal
Spearhead is now available on multiple Official Templates in the Web Builder, such as Conquest Hardcore, FFA and Team Deathmatch.

Maps
  • Spearhead: Resolved an instance of clipping with the camera during the insertion phase at the start of a match.

Specialists
  • We have fixed an issue where Specialists were not rendering correctly during the insertion phases at the start of a match, sorry for giving you a fright.
  • Sundance: Anti-Armor Grenade’s are now correctly intercepted by vehicles that have Active Protection Systems triggered.
  • Crawford: Resolved an issue where there was no iconography to display the progression of overheating while using the Mounted Vulcan Stationary Minigun.

Vehicles
  • 50MM Cannon Pod Ammo on Transport Air vehicles increased from 8 -> 10
  • Resolved an issue where for a brief period of time, the EMKV90-TOR’s turret speed would be slowed after firing with its HHV-EMG Maul primary weapon

Weapons
  • Fixed some cases of recoil compensation not being consistent upon firing for prolonged periods of time
  • Damage for the Rorsch MK-4 has been reduced against vehicles while in the High Power Capacitor fire mode (Single Shot). This ensures the Rorsch can still assist in taking out vehicle targets versus taking them out by itself
  • Heavy vehicles now take approximately 50% less damage
  • Light vehicles now take approximately 25% less damage
  • High Power Capacitor Charge Up increased from 0.8 -> 1 second.
  • Damage for the MCS-880 has been improved for close range scenarios to bring it in line with other utility weapons such as the 12M Auto and NVK-S22.
  • Damage per pellet while using default rounds under 20m increased from 8 -> 15
  • NVK-P125 bursts per minute increased from 150 -> 160 to better match the intended firing rate of the weapon.

Born to one of the most potent infernal families, followers of the Evil Gods, she found herself elevated above others from an early age due to her ruthless personality.

Giovanna devoted all her time to training to become the blade of the Evil Gods, a weapon of destruction. Always yearning for an opportunity to show off her skills, she participated in countless invasions. No one was safe wherever she went. Assassinations ensued, and she eventually earned the nickname, Reaper.

When the Evil Gods invaded the lands of Runaria, Commander Giovanna was at the forefront of the invasion. She was the protegee of the Infernal Titan Vulcanus and one of his more trusted subordinates, leading thousands of soldiers during the destruction of Eureka.

She was ordered to kill the leader of the famous League of Inventors, an association of powerful inventors and makers of the most beautiful inventions in all Runaria.

In order to infiltrate the most secure fortress of the gnomes and reach the chambers of the renown inventor Werksberg, she made use of her stealth abilities and entered the room as silently as she left, not before slitting the gnome’s throat while he slept. A flawless performance as per usual, or was it…

Something caused the door to open, revealing a young gnome who was looking for her father. They both gazed at each other, locking eyes for a minute. Giovanna raised her scythe and swung it. She was unfazed even though the scythe stopped an inch from the youngling’s neck. The young girl approached her father’s dead body and tried unsuccessfully to awaken him. The Reaper was petrified. She had killed children before, but something had now changed, and she was unsure of why. Her mind was in turmoil.

Overwhelmed by the situation, she left the gnome’s fortress, leaving all behind. Once Vulcan heard the news, he became filled with rage and sent assassins to take her head. No one was so dumb to betray Vulcanus.

Hated by the inhabitants of Runaria, marked as a traitor and pursued by countless assassins, Giovanna’s journey of survival began. She kept her ruthless personality and fought against everyone who got in her way.

As much as she hated to admit it, she didn’t know why she left the young girl alive, but she would never look back on her actions. She alone would control her fate, for she is the master of her actions.
