As announced in last week’s Development Update blog, work on Sim Update 16 for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) continues. On Tuesday, we released a new pre-release test build (1.39.2.0) to those enrolled in the public beta. If you missed it earlier, you can read the release notes here.
There was not a new Sim Update 3 beta build for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 released this week, but development work continues on that version, too. Thank you to everyone who has been participating in either beta test and providing your impressions and bug repots on our forums. As always, if you are part of either public beta test, please vote in the forum surveys (links below). Your feedback really matters and helps the dev team immensely!

We have a new update for you to test. This update contains the following:
A fix for the Colour of Madness loot window bug
Fixes for some Steamdeck issues that had been reported
We have also have increased the trinket limit from 999 to 9 999!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working non-stop to reshape huge parts of the game based on community feedback, and this latest update might be our biggest one yet.
Idferno and Egoshade in “A Simple Job” have been completely rebuilt from scratch.
New AI
New behaviors
New materials
New visual effects
New sounds
They don’t just look different, they play completely differently. Expect new challenges… and maybe new fears.
Cleaning, packing, burning, locking, and dismantling now feel way more fluid, immersive, and satisfying.
New visual effects and interaction feedback on tasks across all maps.
A much easier game mode for players who want to enjoy the chaos without sweating too much. Great for learning or casual play. (Look for the little book icon next to START on the contract selection screen!)
Cloud Saves now work.
New map selection screen.
New accessibility options, including puzzle simplification.
Shortcut keys for cycling security cameras.
Tons of gameplay tweaks, balance adjustments, and bug fixes.
Even the Demo has been updated to reflect all these changes.

-Improved character models

Hi everyone,
Yesterday, we took the game down for standard maintenance and to switch Anti DDoS providers.
This was supposed to be a pretty simple procedure... but like all things APB, it quickly unraveled and turned into a cluster.
Our fiber connection in Amsterdam has had some issues, and it went out midstream.
They got in back online, but an issue with other hardware prevented the EU World from fully functioning.
We sorted out those issues, only to have the optic fiber connection go bad again.
At this point, we have worked with our Amsterdam host to replace all the hardware giving us issues. The goal is get EU back online as soon as possible.
To be clear, no player data was lost. The outage has been a cascade of fixing underlying network issues that were missed when we put Amsterdam online, or came up during our Anti DDoS cutover. I'll give updates here until that happens.
Then over the next week, we will replace all of the other hardware that has been not been 100%.
To be continued..
Thanks,
Matt
