• A new 8-player Flat Earth map has been added to the game. • The map now zooms out farther than before to allow players to see more at once. • Made various server-side performance optimizations.
• A new 6-player map in China! They say never fight a land war in Asia, but we'll make an exception for this 126-tile behemoth! • Adjustments and optimizations to several maps and the mouse zoom feature. Continuous optimizations are still on-going in response to feedback from a variety of players. We want to get it perfectly smooth for full release on August 8th! • Fixes to weapon targeting in some circumstances. I have decided to allow you to launch weapons at tiles with 1 unit so that the game feels more responsive and so players may anticipate a deployment with a missile. • Reduced the cooldown of Attack and Split Attack to half a second down from 1 second.
• There is a new national power ranking leaderboard that lists players' actual nations by wins. • There is a new flag power ranking leaderboard that lists all player-selected flags by wins. • The game will now prevent you from firing cannons, missiles, and nukes at tiles with only 1 unit. • Fixed the scrollbars that were messed up by the previous patch. • Resized the Japanese map. The entire map was scaled to be much larger, so it should be much easier to click the tiles.
Patch 0.2.3 notes: • New 8-player map called Europe Mena (Middle-East, North Africa). This huge 137-tile map is perfect for battling groups of friends around the Mediterranean Sea! • Updated the game engine to run more recent versions of everything for better performance and feature support.
• New 8-player Alpha Earth map! A giant world map for your global warfare needs! This is also the new default map. • Added about 90 new flags. I lost count. I added every flag for existing nations that were missing. • You can now zoom OUT on the map to get a wider glimpse of the map. • You can now drag and flick the map. Because that's neat. • The old Earth Omega map is now a 6-player map. • The Earth Omega map now includes a bridge from Sweden to Germany. Hurray for bridges! • Japan's maximum players was changed from 3 to 2. • Turkey's maximum players was changed from 7 to 4. • United Kingdom's maximum players was changed from 8 to 6.
• There is a new 8-player map: Germany! Duke it out on the biggest map ever! • There are now over 50 new flags in the game! • Flags now support transparency where appropriate such as Nepal and Ohio. • You can now select the flag of CPU players • The AI has been adjusted and re-balanced to reduce network bottlenecks and apparently client-size freezing when playing many AI opponents. • All maps now have more comfortable padding around them so that the UI doesn't obstruct the maps. • An improvement was made to the net code that starts multiplayer games. Games will now start more reliably with all player data loading correctly by all players. • Communism's "Deploy Anywhere" perk has been fixed. • Games should start up noticeably faster due to loading map assets directly from the client. • The spectator mode works much better now! The options menu will still work and you can reset when the game is done. • A Reset Game button has been added to the options. • The leaderboard is a little bit wider now to accommodate all of that juicy data.
Patch 0.2.0 is now available and early access has begun! Expect continued development, bug fixes, and new maps up until the scheduled release date: August 8th, 2018!
I have decided to push the release date to August 8th, 2018, at 0800 PDT in order to finish its localization into multiple languages. I plan to support at least 8 more languages and 8 more maps to the game at launch. Both of these changes will help broaden the appeal of the game to a wider audience.
