Bows now roll a random Bow skill and can have this skill rerolled via crafting.

Meteor Forge: Fully charged arrows deal 25% increased damage and Ignite nearby targets for 30% weapon damage per second for 3 seconds.

Cooldown Reduction passives reduced from 2.5% to 2% per point.

New Talent - Wildshot Elixir: Your potions grant Wildshot for 4 seconds, or for 6 seconds if at full health. Wildshot causes all projectiles to spawn 2 additional, identical projectiles in a spread.

Dev Note: This works with all projectiles, not just arrows. This also works with Spire of Teurok.

New Talent - Dash: Your dodge becomes a quick dash. Does not interrupt abilities that allow you to move while channeling.

Dev Note: Dash maintains the same iframes as a normal dodge. This works with the standard bow attack, Explosive Arrow, Whirlwind, Fireball, Blizzard, Magic Missile, Dragonfire, Flame Slash, Ice Storm, etc.

New Talent - Expertise: Your chance to hitstun is calculated as though you dealt 50% more damage.

Dev Note: Is Expertise Good?

New Talent - Swift: Movement Speed increased by 30.

New Talent - Aspect of the Eagle: Gain 15% Attack Speed and 15% Cooldown Reduction. Bow passive bonuses also apply to spells.

New Talent - Hunter's Mark: Consecutive hits on a target apply 1 stack of Hunter's Mark. Max 10 stacks. Hunter's Mark causes the target to take 3% more damage from you per stack. Hitting another target removes the mark. Fully charged arrows apply 5 stacks of Hunter's Mark.

New Talent - Aspect of the Wolf, Part 1: On hit, manifest an untargetable Spirit Wolf. Max 1 Spirit Wolf. Spirit Wolf attacks 5 times and then cannot be spawned for 5 seconds. The Spirit Wolf does not count as a minion, deals 40% combined weapon damage on hit, and deals damage as if it were you. Aggros to your Hunter's Mark target when applied.

Aspect of the Wolf, Part 2: Bow passive bonuses also apply while a melee weapon is equipped. Melee passive bonuses also apply while a bow is equipped.

Dev Note: "Deals damage as if it were you" means that hits from the Spirit Wolf are the same as you hitting the target. If you have Envenom up, the wolf is also applying poison. Boons, buffs, on-hit effects, Legendary effects, etc. all apply. Effects that specifically require a melee or spell hit are not applied by the Wolf's hits. (Viscera won't work, but Stormblade and Godcaller will.) Spirit Wolf is untargetable and ethereal, and will pass through enemies, allies, projectiles, etc. "Does not count as a minion" means that Minion Damage mods and other effects that affect minions do not apply to the Spirit Wolf.

Alert now provides +30 Movement Speed in addition to its current effect.

Orias - Weapons Training: Riposte damage increased from 150% to 200% weapon damage.

  • Now available as a normal skill from the shop.
  • Recharge speed is now increased during Meditation.
Rain of Arrows
  • Stamina cost increased from 50 to 100.
  • Mana cost increased from 75 to 100.
Grasping Vines - New Icon

  • Increased the delay between spawned projectiles when using Lightning Orb with Spire of Teurok.

  • Bunnyhopping removed.

FIXED
  • Fixed Backstab's cooldown not resetting on kill.
  • Fixed 1H and 2H shop filters.
  • Fixed some weapon requirements not working properly.

#LudoNarraCon is nearly here for another year, and we are very pleased to announce that we’re once again going to be taking part. It’s happening April 23rd-26th!

We’ll have a bunch of different streams during the festival which I will outline below,
and of course…
OUR DEMO WILL BE LIVE!!!

Last year, we had such a great time learning about all of the other games involved, and watching their amazing videos, and this year should be no different - there are some extremely cool games in the mix this year and I am sure you’re just as excited as we are to jump into their demos and see all of the juicy, juicy content the teams will be making.

Narrative games are really coming so far now - from games like Gone Home and Dear Esther through to the things we’re seeing at this year’s LudoNarraCon.

Venice 2089,
A Space for the Unbound,
No Longer Home,
Minute of Islands,
Svoboda 1945: Liberation,
Mind Scanners

...And, so many more…

Like Wayward Strand, these games do a good job of exploring sensitive and dark topics, usually under bright and welcoming design. It kinda reminds me of those pasta sauces with hidden veggies - these dark and sensitive themes are good for us to talk about and explore, and they also help to enrich our experience and understanding of this thing called life. Not all of them hide it though! Some of the games I’ve just mentioned are clearly covering some great real histories and themes. Games are the coolest and we’re so happy to be developing when there are so many other awesome things being made at the same time as Wayward Strand.

Lots of the games at LudoNarraCon are stretching the tech behind these narrative games to new places and spaces, too. I’m particularly excited to check out fellow Aussie game, Unpacking, as well as Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Do Not Buy This Game, Song of Farca and again on the awesome tech front, Svoboda 1945: Liberation.

There are just too many incredible games at LudoNarraCon to mention in this post, but I did also want to point you towards these for their outstanding art and themes:
The Longest Road on Earth (which has no dialogue or text at all! Beautiful!)
and my personally most anticipated game at LudoNarraCon, Lake.

There are quite a few games which are already released here too, you should absolutely check out the astonishingly excellent Umurangi Generation, as well as Disco Elysium - The Final Cut, Pendragon by the fantastic team at Inkle, and NUTS, which was animated by Kalonica Quigley, who’s also made so many of our wonderful animations!

FINALLY I want to shout out to Later Daters, because we are dev friends, and because we are both making games which include many older characters and themes about them!

Stream 2: Narrative and Set Design: Painting Props with Goldie.

Set design and dressing is a key part of the narrative experience. Join art director Goldie as she updates and creates new textures for some of the lovely props in Wayward Strand, and talks about the various influences on our gentle, ‘ligne claire’ art style.

Stream 3: Music & Narrative

Maize will noodle about in their home recording studio, making new music for Wayward Strand. This stream will uncover Maize’s process of composing works on the guitar, through to the next steps towards a finished track. They’ll also be chatting about all things music and narrative!

Saints and Sinners - CharlerMaster
Hello to all Saints and Sinners community, I am CharlerMaster from the dev team.
This update aims to fix initial release bugs and add some important gameplay features, we will add more content to the game in the next weeks.

Here is the changelist:

Gameplay

-We are playing around with Sprinting and attacking; you can now initiate an attack while sprinting, and you'll sprint through the windup of the attack into your swing. We hope this makes Hero play a bit more aggressive; especially when chasing down targets. When we get around to revamping the AI, units will also be capable of this.

Health regen

Improved the health regeneration rate of units across the board.

Overseer -
From 5 health per minute to 8 health per minute.

Guardsman -
From 1 health per minute to 5 health per minute.

Vanguard -
From 1 health per minute to 8 health per minute.

Sergeant -
From 1 health per minute to 10 health per minute.

Lobby

Made improvements to the lobby; now players can correctly see each other in game. We still have a lot more we could do in this department and we’re working to make this experience better every day


Bug fixes/Performance

-The file size has increased to roughly 4GB; I'm going to look into why this is, but I'm guessing the new Engine version is the reason behind this.
-Fatal Error on startup, or when switching to windowed mode (i.e. Low Level Fatal Error [Line : 249]) should be fixed. If this happens to anyone again, please don't hesitate to say so, because it's one of those bugs that is blatantly unacceptable
-Cloth physics shouldn't super stretch, and won't be delayed by performance. This was hard to notice, and was completely engine related. Luckily migrating the project fixed this. Looking forward to taking advantage of this with new weapons and armor in the near future!
-Ray tracing should look better; and by extension lighting and reflections in general. This is due to 4.26 having a more complete version as opposed to the beta version we were using in 4.23
-Players connected as a client can now issue commands on hovered units using Right Click
-Hero names replicate properly to the client
-Made some slight adjustments to pathfinding; unit's which failed to find a path when forming up would previously freeze in place. Now they should just run to the cursor location
-The "Equip Your Soldiers!" achievement should actually register on completion
