Redemption's Guild - Papa John Wick
Greetings everyone! we are back with another monthly update on Redemption's Guild!


What have we been working on?

- We updated our Unity version from 2017 to 2019. This was an EXTREMELY painful task full of unforeseen issues, as anyone who has ever upgraded a gaming engine mid-project would know. But we are finally on the back end of this hurdle and are picking up any loose ends that broke along the way.

- We've implemented a new VR system called XR. This allows us to have more control over each VR headset/controllers and will hopefully help us resolve issues that we encountered when doing our last Ambassador test.

- Multiplayer used to work fairly well back in the early RG days, but once we started to add more complicated enemies, spells, and features into the game it slowly started to break. We're now focusing on cleaning up the multiplayer and getting it back to a working state that we are happy with for EA launch. So far we've made great progress this last week.


What are you going to be tackling over the next month?

- Finish multiplayer tasks.

- Create a new enemy spawning system. We've ran into issues along the way with getting enemies spawning/despawning, so we've decided to take a little bit of time to make sure we have a solid system that works the way we need it to.

- Various backlogs tasks: new DamageFX system (red on screen when taking damage), more server room information shown on journal when in a room, voice chat, and more!


When is release?

- Currently we have an EA launch date of Q1 '21 for PC VR and a full launch for PSVR/PC VR in 2021.

I pre-ordered the game, when is the beta?

- We are hoping to have beta stage 1 sent to all of tier 6 founders in the beginning of 2021. The other beta stages for tier 4 & 5 founders will be in the weeks following beta stage 1 launch.


How much longer do I have to pre-order?

- We are taking down pre-orders sometime in the next 1-2 months most likely. We've hit our budget goals needed to launch the game so we are just keeping them open at this point for people to claim any extra rewards they want before launch. A very rare Friday hotfix has just gone out! There are a few good fixes with this one and we are continuing to review the bug reports that have been reported recently. Performance
  • Fixed server crash if the hazard ends up invalidating itself in the status effect clear action.
  • Fixed a server crash that can happen if a root motion occurred that ended up with a duration that was too short.


MONSTERS
General
  • Fixed an issue where the player may not receive the reward for opening the boss chest if he is doing it simultaneously with other team members.
  • Fixed an issue where Sadista disappears completely.
HyperBrawl Tournament - Milky Tea Studios

4 of our developers (Scott, Luke, Geoff and KA) sit down and face off in some 4 player brawling action this weekend, exploring everything the game has to offer, from the different online and offline game modes, to heroes and customisation, weapons and arenas, while of course, trying to prove their prowess in the HyperBrawl arena.

Hello everyone,

After 2 months of work, the multiplayer update is here in BETA. It was a challenge with a lot of difficulties, and I hope you'll have fun playing multiplayer. Please, send me feedbacks so I can improve and fix bugs before release the multiplayer out of Beta. Check below for more information on how to play the beta version.

Inspiration for the Game!
Did you know that we take inspiration from many interesting parts of our (human) history. One such source of inspiration was the giant Lun-class ekranoplan, a ground effect vehicle (GEV) developed in 1975 by the Soviet Union. You can learn more about this giant vehicle here.

Demo update!

First of all, thank you all so much for your feedback and all the kind words! We’ve been working hard on improving the demo as much as possible & we’re happy to say that we’re launching an update that should both make the game easier to run and improve the overall playing experience.

Here’s the full changelog:
• The lighting effects have been optimized, which should help with the FPS on older PCs
• Lowered the overall difficulty of the game & introduced some balance changes
• Save system bugfix – it should be functional now
• Tooltips have been made more visible
• In order to help with the confusion, we’ve added a few tutorial boxes that explain how the game’s basics work
• Rich text tags for documents that require signing have been fixed
• Fixed the cabinet member summary screen
• Fixed the industry icon in the cabinet member menu
• Added an option to skip the intro if the player finished it in the previous playthroughs
• Added an animated indicator for development strategies that are being researched
• Fixed the problem with the player being transported back to the oval office after the endgame cutscene
• Fixed the bug that made it possible to accept the statements without filling in all the boxes
• Improved the display of the closing credits
• Fixed Life of the Party and Savoir-Fair quests; they should work fine now
• Various text corrections
• Various fixes to hidden plot hooks
• Various email, article and Screecher QoL improvements and fixes (e.g. bigger database of Screecher commentators)
• Visual improvements to the development strategies and projects to make them more user-friendly
• Longer answer times for the press conference
• The default resolutions of the textures has been lowered to improve performance on older machines
• Better scaling of statistic change tooltips
• Sound effects added to the email interface
• The game supports some other screen proportions now
Cavity Busters - Mr Oist
Hey all! This update is a bit smaller compared to last weeks but we have two new enemies to crush you this time!

What's New:
  • 2 new enemies
  • 4 new minor stat up items. These can drop from treasure meat lumps.
  • 26 new rooms

Bug fixes and tweaks:
  • Incisor gummy now has different tooth projectile art
  • mini gums are slightly better
  • aim line now shows accuracy
  • reload tooth animation is now less intrusive
  • cleaned up the death screen a bit

I have some fun stuff brewing that'll be showing up in the next few updates if all goes to plan. Have fun and drop a review if you can! :)

Gataela - Atemly Games
It’s been almost one year since we released our graphical overhaul demo! This demo was really big since not only did we redo a TON of assets, we also switched game engines to Gamemaker, adjusted story content, and addressed a lot of feedback.

We’ve been working hard on development since then, and decided to release an update to the demo with all of the improvements we’ve made! We hope you all enjoy it, and maybe find some requested features down below!

We recommend making a copy of your save files (the .sqlite files) in your game directory before continuing. There should be no issues, but we do upgrade the files in this release.

Highlights

Status Point Shortcut



We often watch people who post Let’s Plays or do live streams of the game, and something we noticed a LOT was that people would often forget to use their status points they gained when levelling up.

Generally speaking, setting one or two points can make a very big difference in battle, so after going through a whole area, and then facing a boss, you might find yourself in a lot of trouble. In fact, lots of people failed when fighting the first boss battle because they forgot to set points.

Although we have a reminder in the main menu screen, it wasn’t enough, and we wanted to provide an unobtrusive way to remind you about it. So now when you have status points to spend, you will have a shortcut on the HUD to the skills screen beside the main menu icon!

Full Screen Support

Something that was highly requested was the ability to fullscreen the game. A big reason why we haven’t supported it thus far is that Gataela’s UI is not pixelated, while the game itself is. This means that either the pixel art is blurry or the UI is pixelated when scaling.

We took the first step to add this to the game, and it’s now available in the demo!

Please keep in mind this is more “experimental” and will be improved over time, but we hope that this will help those who had difficulty with the smaller windowed size of the game.

Difficulty Options



We’ve started to add difficulty options! Two options that are now available in the demo is “Enemy HP Multiplier” and “Enemy EXP Multiplier”.

If you’re finding turn-based battles take too long, try decreasing the amount of HP the enemies have. If you dislike grinding, increase the amount of EXP you get from battles! These options can be changed at any time while playing, so we hope you can tweak the game to your preferences!

Battle Improvements



We have made a TON of battle improvements within this release such as displaying levels, adding criticals and misses, adding chances to fail escaping from battles among other fixes such as fixing the block and dodge skills, and how stats are used during battle!
