Double Fine's Xbox Live Arcade tower defence title Iron Brigade (formerly known as Trenched) will receive a new horde mode in a forthcoming DLC update.
The upcoming expansion is called Rise of the Martian Bear, Kotaku reports. Release date and pricing information is yet to be revealed.
Double Fine's latest title is still awaiting release in Europe after trademark issues forced the game to be delayed and re-named.
Iron Brigade was originally planned to launch in June as Trenched, before the creator of obscure Portuguese board game Trench intervened threatening copyright infringement, Eurogamer discovered.
In August, Microsoft re-confirmed Iron Brigade for Europe in September, but again the title failed to appear.
In the meantime, Double Fine has busied itself with the announcement of a PC version of adorable adventure title Costume Quest and fresh Steam/Mac ports of classic platformer Psychonauts.
Eurogamer has contacted Microsoft for word on Iron Brigade's European launch.

A substantial update for the PC version of Double Fine's adventure classic Psychonauts has dropped in from out of nowhere.
The developer today announced that Steam users can download a patch that adds in achievements, cloud saves and modifications that make the game's infamously tricky Meat Circus section a little easy to manage.
On top of that, awesome-sounding private investment outfit Dracogen Strategic Investments has stepped up to help fund a Mac version of the game, available now on Steam and the Mac App Store.
"I have been a fan of Psychonauts and Double Fine for a long time," commented Dracogen CEO Steven Dengler, "and I'm extremely happy to be helping them bring their games to new platforms like the Macintosh. All hail the supremacy of Dragons!"
Finally, there's also a new iOS app up for download. The Psychonauts Vault Viewer lets you view the game's Memory Vaults with newly-recorded audio commentary from creators Tim Schafer and Scott Campbell.
The game originally launched on PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox back in 2005. Not played it? Eurogamer's Psychonauts review should explain why you need to catch up.
Buy a copy of Double Fine's brilliant Psychonauts and all publishing proceeds will now go to Tim Schafer's development studio.
Majesco's rights to the psychic powered platformer have lapsed, according to a tweet by Double Fine programmer Anna Kipnis:
"Omg Double Fine is now the sole publisher of Psychonauts!! If you buy it now (on Steam, for instance), the proceeds go to us!"
The Schafer led outfit has always owned the game's intellectual property - including the possibility of any future Psychonauts titles (yes, please).
But previously a portion of the money you paid went to Majesco, who headed up the game's original publishing duties.
An upcoming statement from Double Fine is expected to confirm the news. "Hang on guys! Don't rush out to buy Psychonauts just yet. Jumped the gun. Exciting DF Official Announcement coming!!", Kipnis later added.
Psychonauts was released in 2005 but failed to find commericial success despite considerable critical acclaim - including a glowing 9/10 Eurogamer review.
It's still readily available via Steam and on the Xbox 360 Marketplace as an Xbox Original.
