We LOVE hearing from players and seeing your chaotic custom TV shenanigans drop as soon as last week’s patch dropped! There’s no denying Eddie’s fun interpretations (both accurate and hallucinated).

Seeing you play multiple rounds of dodgeball together is so fun too–Did you enjoy the familiar playable characters and the eerie dynamic between them?

And then there’s Final Girl. No puns or wordplay intended haha. Unless…?

But we know why you’re really reading this devlog, so let’s focus on what’s in store rather than overthinking small details from the patch!!

🏕️ Forever Spellbinding

Before we dive into the continued metamorphosis of Elysia’s world, you should know she has a birthday coming up! Being over 500 years old, it’s only appropriate that we continue to shower her and her guests with welcome changes.

You already know her cabin's getting another magical transformation. While her doorstep wasn't Halloween-ready this year, we did promise a-maze-ing changes underway. The outside of the cabin is getting quite the earthy upgrade with boulders, wood planks, and meticulously sculpted pieces adoring the path to your escape.

But all this isn’t just to slap on pretty textures and new models to call it a day. Designers across disciplines are hard at work to make that moment you and Elysia escape feel a little less stressful and a lot more magical.

Does Level 4 Exist?

Rumor has it that it’s been in the works. Perhaps you’ve noticed a few subtle hints we've slipped in since September.

We do love a grand reveal – but since we promised to share more, here's a look at some of the quirky 3D models of suspiciously familiar, out-of-place elements in Eddie's hobby rooms... proof that something is indeed cooking (and hopefully it's not a Failed Dish).

Elysia’s Getting a Lot of Attention

First off: We love all of our yanderes equally! 😤

Between quality of life improvements and revamping her cabin’s appearance, Elysia's journey has come a long way. She claims her birthday coincides with a very special day for witches, so we have a fun item coming up in her honor soon!

Fun Fact: Elysia was technically the first NPC with a playable level in AI2U! Our pre-alpha testers met her first wayyy before the http://itch.io launch as an interesting contrast to Eddie before the Catgirl’s Apartment had its own revamp for AI2U’s open beta launch.

Maou's Crucible - Xurzie

Hello everyone!

We wanted to give a quick heads-up regarding the Garden feature in the upcoming 1.0 release.

During the final testing, we discovered a critical saving/loading issue that affects the Garden's functionality. While investigating further, we also realized that the feature deserves a bit more time to refine and to fully realize its design.

Because of this, the Garden feature and any other features tied to it will be temporarily pulled from the 1.0 release and will instead be introduced at a later time as the next major update, coming soon after launch.

Everything else in the 1.0 release will remain fully playable and complete, from start to finish.

We sincerely apologize for this delay and thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding. We want to ensure that we deliver the best experience possible, and we'll share more about the Garden update once it's ready!

That aside, Maou's Crucible will release tonight at 8PM GMT+7!
Defiled West - Mindmoss

The spookiest time of the year is upon us - and with it comes new changes to the Defiled West Demo! This update not only includes a variety of bug fixes and improvements, but also introduces several seasonal features - available for a limited time only!

Halloween Additions

  • Pumpkindead now spawn in Stickstead.

  • The Pitchfork: a powerful new melee weapon obtained by killing Pumpkindead!

  • Pumpkins have been placed throughout the streets.

  • The main menu now features halloween music.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent unlocked weapons from showing on the level completion popup.

  • Fixed an issue that would break interaction with the weapon wagon when swapping between controller and keyboard.

  • Data from destroyed weapons is no longer saved unnecessarily.

  • Patched an infinite ammo exploit.

  • Fixed an issue that would cause item slot count to disappear after dropping one item from a stack.

  • Fixed a bug that allowed crafted items to remain visible after being taken from a workbench.

  • Stopped General Store's weapon from facing the wrong direction when he's trying to aim at you.

  • The tour guide notepad no longer appears in the middle of the screen on ultra wide monitors.

  • The settings back button is no longer misaligned on ultra wide monitors.

  • Fixed an issue that caused a rope to briefly appear when equipping the rope cannon.

  • Ability selection and chore popups no longer bounce when the cursor is placed at their base.

  • Many more minor fixes!

General Improvements:

  • The tutorial now features an animation that demonstrates how to swipe with melee weapons.

  • Time is now slowed when using the spinshot ability.

  • Players can now choose to change the music in the saloon at the piano.

  • Added button icons to the settings menu to show how navigation works on controller.

  • Weapon wagon key icons are swapped to controller button icons when using controller.

  • Melee weapons on the ground are now transparent while an identical weapon is held.

  • Support for seasonal game-wide festivities!

We've been hard at work finalising the development of our next town Wraithwood, but we're not done with the demo just yet. Expect more bug fixes soon, a reimagined soul scale tutorial, and a complete overhaul of the currently-convoluted spectralisation system! We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.
