Candylar is out and it has been very sweet! There are a handful of cards and captains that havenāt quite hit the mark, so we are giving them a bump with this patch.
Cotton Candy Dandy is now sweetening your Candy with every spell you cast.

We felt like Licorice needed a bit more crack on her whip to let her stand apart from other Candy payoffs. Her base stats got a slight bump and she now buffs all your characters, regardless if they are candy or not.

Our favorite feline gladiator has been lagging slightly behind where weād like him to be. Weāve lowered his KO requirement for his first bonus character down to 15 from 20.

We have given Moppet a slight toughness boost to help her survive a little easier.

Plunder Penny has a lot of competition at the collectable common slot these days. Weāve decided to give her an extra attack to help her hunt a little more consistently.

We completely changed how Serenaās ability operates. We hope this change brings her closer to parity with our other Captains.

Christmas is coming early for our favorite little Snow Ball with this healthy boost to its base stats.

Galactic Mega Mall now tracks shops when not on board (meaning if you take it with your 5th and final shop of a turn, itāll immediately trigger and give +15/+15)
Gokatoo will now retrigger if you heal up past a full heart again. (i.e. if you heal to 2 hearts with Lich Kingās Heart or golden Navii and then lose back down to 1 heart, Gokatoo will trigger again)
Fixed a bug where Beanstalk was not consistently buffing when it should
Goldilocks was triggering Beanstalk buffs more than she should. How it should work now:
Example: Beanstalk, Little Lance, Goldilocks
Little Lance buffs all your slots -> triggers Beanstalk 1 time.
Goldilocks sees all 4 other slots get buffed -> She buffs her slot 4 times -> triggers Beanstalk 4 times.
Goat T was breaking a heart when stealing Midas on turn 1. This has been fixed
Pretty Patissier now consistently turns treasures into Candy
Sweet Treasures were not being removed from the pool
You Meet in a Bakery now works properly when doubled
Constellation Prize now waits until shop to trigger and doesnāt trigger when you lose the game
Jack o Lantern was only buffing the first character, now buffs the all summoned characters as intended
Huntsman Axe no longer breaks with non-hunt units in the back row
Addressed issues that should help prevent āstuck in offline modeā behavior
Old pre-Scrubfowl nerf boards are now flushed from the pool
Card collection progress now shows on diamond framed captains if less than 100% complete
Updated Victory Art and positioning

Hello all!
As you all already know, we have always wanted BitCraft Online to be a free-to-play game in the final release, in order to make it as accessible to as many people as possible.
In order to be able to launch BitCraft Online out of Beta/Steam Early Access and into a full release we need to begin selling more cosmetics and skins to test our free-to-play monetization plans for the game. Selling skins and other cosmetics is critical to the gameās long-term viability and for its continuing development. Thus far those cosmetics have been restricted solely to the empire system via the Hexite Shards (more fun stuff to come here too, I know a lot of you have been asking for things like empire banners), but weād like to start selling character scale cosmetics as well.
In accordance with our monetization philosophy, it will still be the case that clothing, skins, decorations, pets, and other cosmetics which are earnable only through playing the game, will not be purchasable directly from our store. For example, skill outfits in BitCraft. It would be pretty lame (and defeat the purpose) if you could just buy them from us. Of course, while not all cosmetics will be items/tradeable, if an item is tradeable that doesnāt prevent you from buying it from another player for in-game currency or items.
However, we also want to sell some fun cosmetics and decorations to players so they can make their characters and settlements fit their vision for what they want in the game, while also supporting the development of the game.
Weād like to try out selling our first cosmetic in-game this Halloween, and itās a fun one! We will shortly be introducing a new cat pet for you all! Most of the cats will be acquireable in-game, but on October 31st we are going to be selling a single-run, Pumpkin cat skin, inspired by my own orange pet cat, Pumpkin!
We will be selling Pumpkin from October 31st, 2025 - November 6th, 2025, HOWEVER we have decided to bring him back at least another time after the full-release of the game to give players who have spent their in-game shards a chance to purchase Pumpkin without needing to purchase more shards now. If you are in that situation you can either buy more shards and buy him now, or wait for full release. This ensures that anyone who purchased the beta on Steam will be able to get Pumpkin without buying more shards.
Importantly, if you buy this cosmetic he will be added to your Hub account which will persist after the wipe! All Hub account items will be granted to your character after the full-release wipe, so if heās in your Hub account, you will get him back after the wipe!
We decided that it would be too confusing and just generally not a great experience to purchase a cosmetic for just the Beta period. Likewise, weāve decided to disable trading for Pumpkin for the duration of the Beta, although Pumpkin will be tradeable in the full release of the game. Players will not be limited in the number of Pumpkins they can purchase, as we do not want to encourage people to create multiple accounts to buy multiple Pumpkin skins.
We thought this would be a fun way to introduce the cat pets while giving those of you who are fans of my cat Pumpkin to buy something fun and very thematic for Halloween!
Pumpkin will be 7,500 Hexite shards and will be purchasable in game on October 31st, 2025. Be sure to log in if you want the chance to buy him!
Hope you all have a spooky Halloween, and check out our Halloween event!
Sincerely,
3Blave (Tyler, Cofounder of Clockwork Labs)
Sorry for the lack of updates here, I'm more active on Discord / Blusky / Twitter.
I'm still alive
I'm working on this game full-time
I have a weekend job and other life commitments so it's a grind š
Have had great success with in-person demos at conventions
Thank you for wishlisting my game! I hope you'll stay on board all the way to Release.
It's been a long time since I updated the Steam page, so here are some highlights from the first half of 2025:

Eurobeat is at the core of DRIFT BOOM BOOM

BLAST! has agreed to license Shock Wave by Mike Snap + 2 other songs for this game.
Thank you BLAST! ššš

I have submitted to ~40 publishers but no dice.
"We're looking for a game that's similar to another recent indie hit"
In other words, I'm not cloning Balatro or Hollow Knight so they're not interested
The Games Industy has been hit hard recently! 2 years of Layoffs and Scarce funding.
Ghosting, rejections for unspecified reasons, or "this doesn't fit into our portfolio"
That last one is totally valid! If I was them, I'd say the same thing to a lot of fantastic games-- they have to be choosy.
Some of these guys do know what they're doing. Others... not so much.
Ā
Regardless, this game is getting made with or without a publisher.

But a publisher really would help!!! š
Among other things, I want a publisher's expertise in marketing-- my specialty isĀ making games, not marketing them! That's why there haven't been any Steam Devlogs until now š
Old-school developers know Alpha as "Feature-Complete."
Ā
Some of the large tasks include
Overhauling the Car Controller.Ā It already feels good?Ā Well, it's gonna feel even better! š
Car Engine Sounds š
Changing the dialogue system's Backend so that it supports localization (translation to other languages) š
Road & Terrain System to make new Racetracks & Story Levels in less than half the time! š£
Concept Art & Full Story OutlineĀ š¼
Once all the Alpha tasks are done, I can very quickly start making CONTENT,
Cars, Tracks, Story Levels, Dialogue Sequences, WEAPONS, ...
"If the tools are crap then the result will be crap, no matter how hard you hack."
-Authors of this super-helpful Deep-Drive from a 2001 Game Developer Magazine Article

People throw around the term "Beta" so much it loses meaning, but here's my old-school definition:
Beta = Content-Complete. Whoooah now the word actually means something!
ROADMAP šŗ
ā First Playable (3 days)
ā Story Proof-Of-Concept (3 months)
ā Multiplayer Proof-Of-Concept (4 months)
ā Vertical Slice (1.5 years)

Hi everyone!
It's been a few weeks since the release of the Bily'Sine demo and already more than 50 of you have played it!
I'm really happy!
The feedback is still shy, but I've heard a lot of positive feedback!
Nonetheless, I'm keeping a close eye on bug reports and I'm working on fixing the few bugs that some people have pointed out to me via updates. The demo has already been updated twice.
Unfortunately... I've been discreet lately because I was ashamed...
In addition to the demo, I accidentally released the full game even though it's far from finished! This has caused me a lot of concern and, more importantly... +6500 people got the full game for free, ha-ha-ha....
But I'm not sad, because Lapon will be happy to welcome another 6500 people into the world of Bily'Sine, even if they don't have an official entry ticket, haha.
The problem has been corrected today, and now only the demo is available.
I've decided to make my 1st Youtube video where I tell (in French) a few development anecdotes as well as presenting Bily'Sine.
Go and have a look at it, I'd love to and it's sure to be of interest to the more curious among you.
