The 2.80 release is dedicated to everyone who has contributed to Blender. To the tirelessly devoted developers. To the artists inspiring them with demos. To the documentation writers. To the Blender Cloud subscribers. To the bug reporters. To the designers. To the Code Quest supporters. To the donators and to the members of the Development Fund. Blender is made by you. Thanks!
The second release candidate of Blender 2.80 is ready for download right here on Steam! If you have the beta program enabled. Over 70 bugs have been fixed.
Please check it out and report any issue you may find!
A Release Candidate is the final step before the release. Blender has been built and packaged just like how the official release would be, and is available for a short period of testing. Download via the Steam updater and give it a good try. If things go as expected, the final release will be one week after.
Today the Blender Foundation releases the first 2.80-beta version. No other release of Blender has been met with so much anticipation! It's the accumulation of 3 years of time and hundreds of months of work by developers from the Blender community. A couple of useful links:
