Here’s a small Blazing Beaks update. We added a new language: Polish. Polish language translation was done by our community member Mikołaj Majkutewicz.
Besides adding new language for this update we were simultaneously working on other updates intensively. The next couple updates will be bigger so we need more time to finish them. Stay tuned!

Fixed a bug where in “More about characters” wrong page was represented in some occasions.
Here is the new update which took longer to make, but we hope that the wait was worth it. We added three new heroes - one of them Penguin which was highly anticipated by our community. Also one of the major reasons why this update took longer was that we wanted to make additional feature as a surprise - character mods. Now everyone can create their own custom character and share it to other players in Steam Workshop. In addition to that, the good news is that Steam Workshop is not required to make a new mod - you can make a local copy and just share it through your preferred channels. To make all modding more user friendly we created a modding software, written some instructions and recommendations and created a demo custom character.

Balance
Balanced Bluebird ability where coins are converted into hearts. Now the amount of coins required for 1 heart will increase with every loop.
If shop door are present in the level and player decides to go through secret or locked level doors, there will be a guaranteed chance to find shop door in current area, unless next level is the last level before boss fight.
Balanced when shop door can appear.
Bug fixes
Edited English versions of Golden Gun and Black Matter Gun descriptions so that it would fit in the log section.
Fixed a bug where bosses HP indicator did not slide down after defeat.
Fixed a bug where acid puddles did not disappear when a lot of Sponge items were picked up.
Fixed a bug where players could not shoot if a lot of artefacts reducing weapon’s reload time were picked up.

We are working on new characters update that is still yet to come, but at the same time we are very happy with a help of our community to release this update introducing two new languages in the game - Russian and German.
Russian language translation by Nvan№one. German language translation by Platypus Flare.
They did a tremendous job and we are very proud to have such a great community.
To switch to other language in the game go to Options-> Game -> Language in game menu and choose your preferred one. We plan to support more languages in the future.

Here’s a small update mainly fixing rare bugs and some other small changes that have been reported and suggested by our community.

Changes
Removed reloading weapon icon. Now the reload is indicated at the top where weapon icon is.
Co-op artefacts will be dropped only if both players are alive.
Added game frame rate setting "FPS" in "Video/Audio" which lets to set frame rate to 60 or to max available fps.
Increased duration of visual unlocking effect so that there would be more time to read what has been unlocked.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where on lower fps character’s walking was slightly different.
Fixed a bug where sometimes Brute did not kill player having Death artefact in possession.
Fixed a bug where if revived player in the shop died again there wrong character sprite was presented.
Fixed a bug where on some occasions less HP than it should was added to revived player.
Fixed a bug where wrong reviving price was represented if before reviving alive co-op player collected any item or artefact that had affect on the price.
Fixed a bug where if one player gave artefacts to the Crow and moments after co-op player tried to give artefacts too no additional items were dropped.
Fixed a bug where if artefact was collected moments after giving artefacts to the Crow, risk bar line was wrongly represented.
Fixed a bug where pressing “Retry” or “Reset” in game end window made shadows of enemies and characters a little bit darker.
Fixed a bug where character’s animation in characters selection window was playing too fast if after pressing “Ready” and while characters jumping animation was playing “Unready” was pressed and another character was chosen.
Fixed a bug where Turnip did not have hit animation in tutorial if more than one hits were needed for a kill.
Fixed a bug where Duck’s ability to reload fast after not shooting for 1 second did not work with weapons that shot several projectiles one after each other as one shot.
Fixed a bug where weapon flash effect was in a wrong position when weapon reload time was very short.
Here's a new update where we concentrated on items and artefacts. In total 45 new items/artefacts were added, also we made that more of them including ones in the previous versions could be stacked and items would have different drop rates. Also the update introduces progression system where some items and artefacts can be unlocked under certain conditions. In previous versions items gave too much HP, increased weapon damage too much which disbalanced the whole run, especially when players advanced to further levels in the loops. All of that was the reason why a lot of balancing iterations were done and now the gameplay affected by items and artefacts should be more balanced.

Balance
Balanced overall gameplay that can be affected by items and artefacts.
Changed what Frying Pan item does. Now it adds +1 second of invincibility time instead of making it double.
Debuffed Deft Wings item making it increase reload speed and fire rate by 15% instead of 20%.
Metal detector item now increases chance to loot more coins by 50% instead of making it double.
Bayonet item now reduces weapon range by 10% instead of 20%.
Debuffed Screwdriver item making it reload speed and fire rate by 10% instead of 30%.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where ghost could deal damage to the player when Teddy ability was activated.
Fixed a bug where ghost could deal damage when player teleported during the ghost attack phase.
Fixed a bug where hearts machine did not take max HP from Bluebird when 1 HP was left and Bluebird had more than 1 max HP.
Fixed a bug where Bogy boss projectiles were dealing damage to a player when Bubble ability was activated.
Fixed a bug where Pinky projectiles were dealing damage to a player when Bubble ability was activated.
Another small Blazing Beaks update with extended controller support is ready. Previously only Xbox 360, Xbox One and other X-Input controllers were supported and for others either Steam Controller Support Settings had to be enabled or third party software was required. Now Blazing Beaks supports PS4 and other dual-stick generic controllers by default. So that they would work properly check if none of controllers support is enabled in Steam Controller Support Settings (Steam->Settings->Controller (section on the left) and press button General Controller Settings.

As mentioned in our previous patch notes the next few updates should be smaller and take less time to make them, so here’s the first one. The biggest highlight of this update is Log section. In Log section you can view collectables and statistics. More patch notes are listed below:

Fixed a bug where total risk value was wrongly represented after going to the next level if the remaining value in risk bar was equal to 0.0.
Fixed a bug where in tournament “Hunting” mode in some occasions spear stuck too far in the wall when shooting diagonally to wall corners from a short distance.
Fixed an issue where too many meltdown sounds were played after icicle ability effect ended. Now your ears are safe.
Fixed a bug where player still could get damage while jumping through the door and the music stopped playing in the next level.
We are very excited to introduce you the new update with it’s biggest highlight - a new area Dry Lakes. Now when you defeat a Bogy boss, two doors are opened and you can choose where to go further - either Red Forest or the new area - Dry Lakes. It took longer than we expected to get everything done, but we wanted to make sure that the new area including enemies and boss feels and plays right. Hope you like and enjoy it.

The next few updates should be a smaller ones and if everything goes according to the plan should take less time to finish them.

The biggest highlight of this update is reworked characters system. All passive abilities for characters except Platypus were changed completely. Also from now on, all the characters have active abilities too which can be changed during gameplay and used depending on situation, playing style and etc. More information about each character is now represented in a separate window instead of small icons which were not very descriptive before. There were some other changes in the game. You can find more details below.

Added game tutorial. It won’t be shown to those who already played the game and brought any artefacts to the Crow at least once.
Added active abilities: Propeller, Icicle, Teleport, Bubble, Iron Wings, Teddy, Egg Bomb and Nails. Abilities can be found during gameplay and picking it up replaces your current ability you have.
Added 18 hand-crafted levels.
Added two new starting weapons: Drizzler for Duck and Swift for Chicken.
Added new Compass item.
Changes
Reworked all the characters except Platypus:
Duck Has Drizzle as a starting weapon. Not shooting for 1 second reloads weapon for next shot 3 times faster. Has 50% lower weapon range.
Bluebird Has Pistol as a starting weapon. Any damage taken having 1 HP left, decreases max HP. By entering boss level, refills health converting every 5 coins to 1 HP.
Chicken Has Swift as a starting weapon. Can kill marked enemies in one shot. Shoots innacurately while running. Has 80% higher weapon range.
Parrot Has Teeny Tiny Laser Gun as a starting weapon. Dealing damage to enemies reduce their walking speed for 2 seconds. Has 40% lower cooldown time for active abilities. Has 70% lower coin drop possibility.
Due to character changes mentioned above, those items and artefacts were changed too:
Power Punch - completely removed from the game. Oblivion Stone - now it takes away character’s active ability instead of taking away ability to slide. Venom - now it does not allow to pick up an ability instead of losing an ability. Shackles - now it doubles cooldown time for character's active ability instead of reducing the length of slide.
Dead enemies now become transparent if they are nearby acid pools.
Weapon stealing in the shop now is more clear and understandable. If you step on a tile to buy a weapon without having enough coins, “STEAL” title will appear instead of it's price.
Balance
Balanced Platypus a little bit.
Black Matter Gun will not be available in Swamp or Graveyard shops.
Bug fixes
Fixed a bug where on very rare occasions Player 1 was spawned outside of level map bounds in tournament mode.
