Blade Kitten - Linds
Hey everybody!

So… We’ve got a new build of Blade Kitten ready to go with a few fixes!

We’ve not pushed this live to the standard branch at this point as we want to do some more testing first, but decided to push it live to an open beta branch so anybody can use it if they want to, as we know some of you are hanging out for the 60fps option.

To access the Open Beta, you will have to:
  • Right click on "Blade Kitten" in your library and select properties
  • Go to the BETA tab
  • Change the drop down of the Beta you'd like to particpate in to have "openbeta" selected
  • You may have to quit Steam and reload it to see the Beta
  • Using the Beta is at your own risk :)

If you have any problems that are SPECIFIC TO THIS NEW OPEN BETA BUILD, please add a note to this sticky discussion:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/9940/discussions/0/540743032438905553/

60 fps selection
  • There is an option to set “60 Hz” on and off in the graphics menu now – to unlock to 60 fps
  • 60fps is the new default setting
Language Selection
  • The game now selects the appropriate language, based off the Steam language setting (in Steam Preferences -> Interface)
  • If Steam is set to a language that doesn’t exist in the game, it will default to English
  • The game supports English, French, German, Spanish and Italian
Borderless Window Mode
  • As a work around for those people who are having full screen resolution issues, we have implemented borderless window mode, as a command line option
  • In the Properties panel for Blade Kitten, click “set launch option” and use the following commandline: noborder x=0 y=0
  • This will create a window at the top left of your screen, at whatever resolution you have set as your “window” resolution in the graphics settings
  • You can then use the x= and y= offsets to change the position of the borderless window
  • It will not remember the last window position, so that you don’t accidentally “lose” the position
Background gamepad support
  • There’s another command line that will turn on background gamepad support – so you could (eg) run the game on one screen with gamepad, while somebody else is doing something on the 2nd monitor with keyboard/mouse
  • Add the following to the launch options (with a space between any other options): MKBackgroundGamepad

Happy gaming!

Hi all,

Wanted to drop you guys a line and let you know what we’re working on now, next and next-er (next-est?)

What we’re hoping to do is get together a new build which we’ll make live as an open Beta as soon as we can, with the “Now” items resolved, so people can choose to opt-in, while we do further testing before making it live as the default build. We’ll have a sticky thread so that if you guys hit any issues related to these changes, you can let us know about ‘em too.

Now
  • Add in 30/60 frame switch (through in-game menus)
  • Add in borderless window’d mode – via commandline, as a work-around for those people having issues with fullscreen at the moment

Next
  • Try to reproduce and fix the fullscreen resolution bug
  • Try to reproduce and fix the “Breaker menu after cutscenes” bug
  • Update the controller icons to use X360 standard icons
  • Change the language detection to use the Steam language setting, to set the game’s language, defaulting to English if the Steam language doesn’t exist in the game
  • Try to figure out what the issue is with the demo and stop it 86’ing

Next: Next Harder
  • Episode 2 testing and getting together a list of remaining issues we need to resolve.
  • Episode 2 bug fixing and implementation leading to Episode 2 release as paid DLC

Thanks all – we’re looking forward to getting more things done and out there!

Cheers

Krome Studios is pleased to announce that Blade Kitten is back in our control! YAY! So we’ve updated the game and celebrating the re-release on Steam with a new price of just $5.99. Better yet, from the 22nd to the 30th of May the game will be on sale for just $3!

But wait there’s more! In this new update you’ll also find that Kit’s controls have been tightened up so she’s more responsive and can turn on a dime now. Some of the enemies have also gotten some training and are going to give you a bit more grief if you’re not paying attention.

And last but not least there are two more free costumes that you can access from the start. Now as well as the original Steam exclusive Gothique costume you can also play in Kit’s Night Breaker gear or her special Strike Armor.

And there’s more to come.
