As part of our beta crew, you'll be the first to check out new stuff, break things (in a good way!), and most importantly, share your thoughts. Whether it's smashing bugs, tweaking mechanics, or uncovering hidden easter eggs, your feedback helps us shape the game into something truly special.
How to jump in: 1. Locate the game in your Steam client and open up "Properties" from the context menu (right click). 2. Go to "Betas" tab 3. Select the "preview" branch from the dropdown. 4. Play the game!
We're all ears! Share your wildest ideas, craziest bugs, and most epic moments with us. Hit us up in email, join our Discord server, or simply use the in-game feedback tools (available in the preview branch).
This week’s update is a little different as you already know. There’s no new Hero, and we’re releasing it on a Thursday outside of our usual game update cadence. Instead we’re celebrating, because V0.16 comes with a very different milestone…
OPEN BETA!
That’s right! After this update Predecessor will be free to everyone, on all platforms. And we mean all, because we’re also welcoming Xbox players to the battle for the first time too! This milestone isn’t all however! V0.16 also ships with all-new lighting, visual changes that will drastically improve the graphical fidelity of our map ahead of further maps and level reworks in the future.
We’re still not done however! We’ve added a bunch of new languages for PC players (soon to be available to console players too) as well as a myriad of bug fixes and balance changes we managed to slip in as well!
We’re burning daylight here, so let’s jump to it!
Open Beta
We’re taking our next leap in Early Access development!
V0.16 marks our milestone release into Open Beta, marking a transition to free-to-play for all players, on all platforms, everywhere!
We’re excited to continue developing Predecessor alongside our rapidly growing community, and we cannot wait to get the game in front of more and more people because of this shift.
Localisation
We've added our first wave of newly supported languages to Predecessor!
Starting on Thursday, PC players will be able to select the following languages in the settings menu:
French
German
Spanish
Portuguese
Italian
Simplified Chinese
Console players will get the same localisation options soon, and we look forward to delivering even more languages throughout the year!
Please note: we're aware that in this first rollout of localisation options there may be a handful of instances of text strings that are overflowing or cropping unexpectedly in places. Similarly there may be a few missing translations here or there too. We'll be fixing these bugs soon!
Xbox Series S/X
As of V0.16 we’re thrilled to be welcoming a whole new audience to Predecessor - Xbox players!
That’s right, we’re rolling out globally on Xbox Series S/X consoles, delivering on our promise to ensure that Predecessor is as accessible as possible to as many players as possible.
Xbox players, good luck out there! Everyone else? Go easy on the newcomers and be sure to give them a warm Predecessor welcome! 😉

Quick Start Bundles
With the move to Open Beta and the doors open for Xbox players, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for new players to quickly flesh out their collection of playable Heroes and selectable skins, right out the gate.
With that in mind, we’re pleased to share a series of new in-game Quick Start bundles that new players can use to unlock sets of Heroes, not too dissimilar from the Early Access bundles that PC players have had access to.
Each bundle contains a collection of Heroes available at a discounted price, with a smattering of skins and a role-themed spray included for good measure.
Better yet, we’re putting them up for sale at a special, discounted, introductory price! We’ll run this discount for a short while, but grab the bundles at this great price while you can!

Skin Price Reduction
In response to your feedback and delivering on our previous commitments to make changes, we’re excited to share a substantial shift to the in-game skin economy. We’re moving away from our previous approach where each skin was uniquely priced, to a system of clearly defined prices based on rarity. We’re also adding an additional rarity, Uncommon, to better support this.
Note, some Legendary skins may receive bespoke prices in the future if they release including more content than traditional legendary skins.
With these pricing changes some existing skins are also now changing in price. Already owned a skin that’s going down in price? You’ll be refunded the difference in Platinum!
Find the full list of price changes over on our website. Link is at the bottom of this page!
Additional Skin Refunds
With the new Quick Start role bundles added in this update containing a handful of skins that were released within the last 3 months, we wanted to offer further refunds for those of you who may have already purchased said skins.
We don’t intend to put skins on discount so quickly, so we’re refunding the difference in Platinum to players that may have already bought the following skins that have since been added to these new bundles.
With the changes to skin prices we would also like to rework our Platinum bundles to better align with our new skin pricing.
Unfortunately we weren’t able to get those changes done in time for this update due to platform certification, so we will be changing them in a future patch.
Visual Improvements
The Predecessor map has had a visual overhaul, thanks to the first of many exciting graphical changes coming this year.
Lighting improvements have swept the battlefield, making shadows much deeper, colours more vivid and the overall warmth and hue of the game feel much crisper and refreshing.
That's everything this time Champions, what do you think? Let us know your feedback over on our Discord server or the Predecessor Subreddit. Until next time! Kari Community @ Omeda Studios
We will support the game by releasing DLC and big updates. We would also like to thank those who added our game to their wishlist. More content and cool games are waiting for us in the future!
Patch 1.0.10 has been released, it's the tenth patch, so it's like an anniversary. I tried to bring in the most important bug fixes, player wishes, graphics updates, etc. List of changes:
Save count increased from 5 to 24! They are organized in a grid.
When switching to another application, the whole game is paused.
The bioflash menu is updated, and the most important thing: there's an adorable bug to close it!
Achievements are refactored: infinite counters replaced by achievable ones, added a few new ones.
Fixed a bug: it was possible to have an inactive character standing on a tentacle in the skull after loading a save, and when the character leaves, the tentacle remains fixed.
If the leech is used on a biointerface juggler and Adem is not connected to it, Adem will come up to juggler automatically.
Two timers are forbidden in the greenhouse at the same time.
Completed the introduction to the tree puzzle at the beginning of the greenhouse, added some new reactions to it.
Fixed some effects and post-effects of the zhirble.
A 64 pixel Windows application icon has been added.
Biointerface and hotspot highlight fonts now scale as the rest of the fonts.
Large update of menus: bugbag transfering, biointerface juggler, biointerface separator, and some animations and cursors have been updated.
Miscellaneous little things: fixed some hotspots, walk-to-markers, reactions, typos, etc.

The following notes are for our upcoming, March 28th, 2024 patch. It is scheduled to begin rolling out on console and PC at roughly 8AM EDT. With this patch players will also be able to play on the newest map, The Mill and try out the newest DLC character, Virginia.
The patch will address the following issues:
PATCH NOTES
Tuned: Julie’s Proximity Aura
We have tuned Julie’s Proximity Aura
Her Proximity Aura radius is now slightly smaller, to match the other Victims
Tuned: Nancy’s Wait a Second Perk
We have tuned the perk Wait a Second
Victims who are ensnared in Nancy’s barbed wire will now wait 3/5/8 seconds before being able to remove it
Previously, Victims would have to wait 10/15/20 seconds to remove it
Changed: Credits Added for Cissy Jones and Michael Johnston
We added in credits for the Nancy and Danny characters
The amazing Cissy Jones does both voice acting and motion capture for Nancy
The talented Michael Johnston voices Danny
Fixed: Family Members Softlocked
We fixed the problem where Family members would get softlocked for the rest of a match if stunned while losing stamina
This fix applies to being stunned by a doorslam, barged by Leland, and sneak attacked
Fixed: Choose Fight Perk
We fixed an issue where Choose Fight at level 3 was not adding 5 seconds of stun duration at the end of a close encounter
This was previously fixed but came undone during the February 6th update
Fixed: Nicotero Chainsaw Audio on Leatherface Variants
We have fixed an issue where the unique Nicotero saw sound was incorrect when equipped on other Leatherface outfits
Now, when using the Nicotero saw on a non-Nicotero Leatherface, the correct audio will be present
Fixed: Lobby Timer Countdown Not Showing
We fixed a UI issue where players would not see the lobby timer during the 5 seconds before a match launches
Fixed: Lobby Timer Softlocking
We fixed an issue where players could get softlocked if the lobby timer UI did not trigger and they had the Settings menu open at the start of the match
Fixed: Makin’ Grandpa Proud
We have fixed the issue where Makin’ Grandpa Proud was not unlocking, however Makin’ Grandpa Proud will only unlock for base game maps, meaning that it will not unlock on Nancy’s House or The Mill
Fixed: Match Not Ending
We fixed an issue where games would sometimes not end after the last Victim was killed or disconnected
Fixed: Leland’s Star Sign Ability Description
We fixed an error in Leland’s Star Sign ability description which incorrectly stated, “Does not affect Leatherface”
This line has been removed
Fixed: Twinkle Toes Perk
We fixed an issue where Twinkle Toes was not functioning when Victims ran through bone charms at all levels
Twinkle Toes will now work as intended
Fixed: Stuck Spots on Nancy’s House
We fixed an issue where Victims would sometimes get stuck in a wall after jumping down a well on Nancy’s House leading to the North Tunnel
We fixed an issue where Victims would sometimes become stuck on a shelf after being hit off the ladder in Nancy’s Bedroom
Fixed: Family Members Stuck on Couch in Slaughterhouse
We fixed an issue where Family members would sometimes get stuck when picking up blood in the Cutting Room
The blood bucket has been moved to prevent Family members from becoming stuck
Fixed: Cook Padlocks
We fixed an issue where the unlock mini game would sometimes incorrectly remove the main lock instead of Cook’s padlock when placed on an already locked door/gate
This would prevent Cook from removing the padlock
Now when Victims attempt to unlock a door with Cook’s padlock placed on it, the first lock to be broken will be Cook’s padlock
Fixed: Nancy’s Stamina Bar Refill
We fixed an issue where Nancy’s stamina bar would sometimes refill without delay when the perk “Wait a Second” was equipped
Fixed: Users Experiencing Constant Rubberbanding
We fixed an issue where some players were experiencing rubberbanding during matches that would be brief in duration but consistent
Fixed: Players Softlocked After Disabling Crossplay
We fixed an issue where if players would disable crossplay while in a crossplay party the subsequent removal would sometimes result in becoming softlocked
Now disabling crossplay while in a crossplay lobby will still result in being kicked from the party, but players will no longer be softlocked
Fixed: Leatherface Spawn Point
We fixed an issue where Leatherface would sometimes spawn outside of the Basement
Fixed: Title Crash During Match Reconnect
We fixed an issue where Family members would sometimes experience a crash when attempting to reconnect to the match
Fixed: Danny Scream Audio During Opening Cutscene
We fixed an issue where if Danny was featured during the opening cutscene, Leland’s voice over would play
Now when Danny is featured in the opening cutscene, his correct voice over will be present
Fixed: HUD Not Displaying Correctly on HDD
We fixed an issue where Player’s HUD would not display properly when installed on an HDD
Fixed: Generator Interaction Prompt
We fixed an issue where Victim players were able to turn off the generator from the side, resulting in the ability to bypass traps
Now Victims will not be able to start the interaction when standing on the side of the generator
Fixed: Lobby Crash on Slaughterhouse
We fixed an issue where Lobbies would sometimes crash when a Family Member attacked a Victim climbing down the ladder on the side of the Tool Storage
Fixed: Blood Glow on Slaughterhouse
We fixed an issue where blood would sometimes have a yellow shine in the Leatherface’s Lair area
Now blood will not shine and correctly show red in color
The Mill will be free to all players. Virginia will cost $9.99 USD.

We’re excited to share that we’ve not only expanded upon the ideas from “Moving Through Life,” but also implemented several key decisions based on player feedback and our own creative insights.
There’s a lot that’s new, but let’s focus on the highlights:
More Freedom: Fairytale Furnishing gives you the reins to place items wherever you wish, making the game feel more like a sandbox adventure.
Save System: Unlike Moving Through Life, which only saved between levels, Fairytale Furnishing allows you to save your progress on each level, giving you the freedom to revisit and replay at any point, even after completion.
Camera Control: We’ve introduced two camera control modes, catering to those who enjoy finding the perfect angle for both convenience and beauty.
And most importantly: If Moving Through Life was a game about life’s journey, Fairytale Furnishing invites you to dive into a fairy tale.
We’d be delighted if you try out the demo. And don’t forget to add Fairytale Furnishing to your wishlist!
The playtest is now open to everyone who signed up!
Explore the latest changes and new content in this version, showcasing updates made since our last demo in October 2023.
Here's what's included in this playtest:
- Basic habitat building - 2 space vehicles (craftable at the vehicle station) - 1 asteroid belt (your starting point in the game) - Half of the machines - Resource management - 4 tools to use - And more...
However, keep in mind that there's a lot more content planned for the final release that's not available in this playtest:
- Advanced space vehicles - A variety of buildables - 5 additional asteroid belts, some larger than the starting base - Trading system, package delivery system - 4 advanced tools - Mobile bases - Story events - Scanning system - Enemy drones and spaceships - Some automation elements - And much more that we don't want to spoil just yet!
