Many of you have been waiting for this: we are announcing the new tournament of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, the first since the start of Season 2. You can find terms and conditions down below and we hope many of you will sign-up and have fun. So say we all!

Tournament rules:

1 Week per round. Not showing up or organising a match within the 1 week timeframe will result in the participant(s) being disqualified
All participants are to join the BSG:D Discord to be able to take part. You need to write in the Tournament Applications channel and give us through Discord the following info: Discord nickname, Steam username and time zone
32 players single elimination, using the two brackets as per the last tournament. The tournament could be expanded to 64 players depending on the number of signups
Semi-finals and finals are best of 3 matches
Caught instances of directly and maliciously breaking the rules (including cheating) will result in an immediate disqualification
Participants are welcome (and encouraged) to stream their matches, but do so at their own discretion. This is not mandatory
Participants are to agree upon a time and date of their match publicly during the week of their round. EG: Participant 1 & 2 agree to play at 18:00 GMT on Thursday 31/10/19. Once the match is set up at the agreed upon time, the creator of the room is to wait 10 minutes. If the opponent has not arrived by that point, the opponent will be disqualified unless both participants agree to reorganise the match within the 1 week time frame. A match may be reorganised only once
BOTH participants must take a pre and post-game screenshot of their match, regardless of streaming. The pre-game screenshot is to show both players in the room with the tournament settings (8k, 180s, Refinery) whilst the post-game match shows the victory (or defeat screen). An unedited version of this screenshot is to be sent directly to Sir Wagglepuss III on Discord
If one of the participants quits during a match due to elements outside of their control, an immediate rematch can be done only at the consent of both participants, otherwise the match is given to the participant who remains
Any disputes are to be brought to Sir Wagglepuss III, or the moderation team. The moderation team's word is final on any disputes

Game rules:

8k fleet points
180 seconds turn timer
The Map of choice is Refinery
No more than 2 of the same capital ships per fleet
Participants are free to change their fleets between matches so long as they are in accordance with the above rule
Participants do not need to announce their fleet beforehand, so long as the fleet they field is in accordance with the above rules

Scheduling:

Signups starting on Tuesday 29th October 2019
The tournament begins on Monday 4th November 2019, with 1 week for each round of the tournament
The tournament should last for 4-6 weeks depending on the number of participants

Prizes:

The tournament champion will receive a brand-new copy of Ares Games’ amazing tabletop boardgame, Battlestar Galactica Starship Battles. The runner-up will win a set of ship miniatures from the board game.

Battlestar Galactica Deadlock enters Season 2 with the release of the new Resurrection DLC!

The new expansion introduces players to a new chapter of the First Cylon War. With the Cylons having overrun the Cyrannus system and Colonial Fleet having been disbanded, spontaneous revolts have broken out on Caprica and Tauron. Veterans and civilians alike band together to form resistance cells, and strike back at the invader. The rebellion’s hope lies in the secret reconstruction of the Battlestar Galactica.

It is from its deck that you will be leading your fleets in battle against the Cylons!

The new expansion adds a brand new story campaign, comprising of ten new story missions, as well as thirteen new resource missions. You will be operating from the deck of the Galactica itself, commanding all Colonial fleets from its CIC.

Resurrection also includes two new ships, the Jupiter-class Battlestar Mk II and the Cylon Cratus-class Basestar, as well as new squadrons: the Taipan and the Vespid.

Resurrection is accompanied by the Command Update, a free update to the base game. Its main features are highly-requested features such as Multi-ship selection, Squadron groups hotkey assignment, a Revamp of the bullet system, and much more! You can read the full changelog here.

The Command Update is here!

Later today Battlestar Galactica Deadlock will get a free update, the Command Update! This patch comes concurrently with the release of the new DLC, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock: Resurrection, that you will be able to purchase later here.

The highlights of this update are highly-requested features such as Multi-ship selection, Squadron groups hotkey assignment, a Revamp of the bullet system, and much more!

- Support for Resurrection campaign. A 10-mission campaign, set 3 years after the events of Sin & Sacrifice.
> The legendary Battlestar Galactica - badly damaged during the battle to save Caprica after the betrayal of the Kobol Alliance - has been upgraded.

New Ships:

- Cylon Vespid Bomber. A deadly Cylon squadron with the ability to launch devastating bombing runs.

Changes

- User interface improvements. Numerous improvements and enhancements to make giving your fleet orders faster and easier:
> Multi-select support. Select multiple ships at once and give them orders simultaneously.
> Right-click context menus for hostiles. Right clicking on an enemy will show a context menu of actions available to the selected ship(s) in the players fleet
> Faster squadron grouping. Select multiple squadrons and press CTRL+number to assign them to a squadron group.
> All select. Pressing CTL+A selects all ships in your fleet.
- Revamp of the projectiles (bullet) systems, so bullets can now be paused between rounds. The 2-second pause of firing at the end of a round has been eliminated.
- Upgraded post-processing effects. A new full-screen effects system that refreshes the look of the game in battles.
- Support for a choice of character (Helena or Alex) for barks in Skirmish and multiplayer if a Season Two DLC has been activated
- Adjustments to AI targeting bias in escort missions to reduce targeting of ships under escort
- Added a new squadron command "Defend At Location". Squadrons will move to a location and attack squadrons and munitions that come within range.
- Added the ability to zoom in the fleet loadout UI (prior to battles, or when building Skirmish/Multiplayer fleets)
- Added a search bar to the ship name selector
- Added a search bar to the fleet selector (in Skirmish/Multiplayer)
- Improved performance of Ionized nebula
- Various balance adjustments
- Various other performance enhancements and bug fixes
- Mouse and Keyboard support for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

- Fixed Bug: Proximity mine placement UI visible in single-round replay
- Fixed Bug: Crew veterancy not set if Daidalos is at starlane
- Fixed Bug: PCMs aren't behaving as expected
- FIX: Prevented exiting to the main menu or doing anything in the options panel while the game was saving (to avoid save file corruption)
- Fixed Bug: If a mid battle save is loaded before the Cerastes is boarded, then a boarding attack will start on the Cerastes when it is converted
- Fixed various rare issue restoring save games
- Fixed Bug: Explosions do not reset if a single replay round is cancelled

Hopefully, by now, you are all caught up on our announcement for Resurrection , the new DLC that kicks off Season Two and will be released at the same time as the Command Update . (If you haven’t seen it yet, go check out the announcement here). As well as a new campaign set 3 years after the events of Sin & Sacrifice, Resurrection features a number of new ship designs. In this dev diary, we’ll talk about two of the new ships that will be available.

Colonial Jupiter MkII Battlestar

As the Cylon War has progressed, both Colonial and Cylon technology has advanced. When launched, the Jupiter-class battlestars represented the pinnacle of Colonial warship design.
However, with the war entering its tenth year, advancements in Cylon technology meant a new and upgraded iteration of the Jupiter was required.

The Jupiter MkII has a redesigned hull that should look instantly familiar to anyone who has seen the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica TV-series - although due to being freshly launched from the shipyards, it’s still sporting all of its armour.
Improvements in FTL technology mean that 2 pylons are sufficient to hold the flight pods, instead of the 3 required by the original Jupiter. The armour plating is stronger, the weapons loadout has been upgraded, and she’s also sporting an additional utility squadron slot.

Cylon Vespid Bomber Squadron

The Cylons continue to invent new methods to remove Colonial Fleet from the skies over the Twelve Colonies. The Vespid bomber is their latest attack vector, and introduces a new mechanic into the game...bombing runs.
Vespids are armed with high impact close-range armaments. A squadron of Vespids will be given a capital ship to target, and then move in close and release its payload. The results are pretty unpleasant for anyone unlucky enough to be on the ship they attack.

That’s a quick look into two of the new ships that will be available in Resurrection, which will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 29.
