Primal Carnage: Extinction - dinosauriac

A new update is now LIVE for Primal Carnage: Extinction on Steam!

Welcome to our annual Meltdown Event, featuring sizzling new skins, HOT new mutations, and some straight fire game overhauls...

UPDATE HIGHLIGHTS

SPAZ SHOTGUN REWORK

For a long time the Spaz has been in a slightly odd place among the shotguns. With this update we set out to give it a more distinct identity...

Spaz has a new secondary fire ability that uses single slug shots, not pellets, similar to the Flame Slammer's underslung shotgun. These are highly damaging, armour piercing rounds.

As such, you are forced to do a pump action before firing every time you press the button. This wind-up before a shot avoids dealing excessive damage in too short a time and adds an extra layer of skill with the timing.

On the other hand, its primary fire is now fully automatic with no need for it to pump between shots. The tradeoff is a reduced range and slightly lower rate of fire than it had previously, but still faster than the default shotgun.

Aside from the Spaz, there are a few other balance changes based on playtest feedback. You can find those in the full changelog further down...

SWIMMING LESSONS

We've been making a few fixes with the upcoming Sandbox Mode in mind, doing a pass on swimming in general to make it a smoother experience. Going in and out of deep water is no longer a hassle, where previously you'd often get stuck on slopes at the water's edge.

Some classes now have new swimming animations, such as Tyrannosaurus, and we're in the process of adjusting them to have custom float heights when in water.

Speaking of which, a new experimental physics setup allows corpses and other objects to float on the surface of Valley's deep lake (some may want to, uh... bounce).

OPTIMIZATIONS

Even though PCE has been going for about ten years, we're currently trying to make it run well on consoles that are even older than that. Work on the PlayStation version is finally wrapping up and we're bringing some of those optimizations to the PC side.

Texture memory usage should be a tad lower now, with more efficient handling of Spino, Rex and Raptor skins. Instead of them being separate assets, they're now merged and packed alongside eachother, delivering effectively the same resolution but with half the memory footprint.

We've also been continuing to optimize particle effects, adding different levels of detail to fire vfx and fine tuning shaders to be less intensive while still giving good visual results.

More overhauls will be coming in future, alongside PC-specific improvements that require tinkering with the engine code. Borderless fullscreen? Maybe(!)

COMING SOON...

NEW MAJESTY

Arriiving this July is the latest addition to the Royal skin family... the Royal Spinosaurus!

Featuring a completely new model with unique custom textures, the Royal Spino is a premium skin with a story built into its flesh. An elder creature who has seen many battles, with the scars to prove it - from a torn sail to uneven teeth and chipped claws.

We're hoping to have this latest royal duet available within about a week.

That's right, there are of course two variants of the Royal Spino day one! The different colorations are currently being finalized, with Amber and Aqua versions in the works.

GLOBAL CARNAGE

🇫🇷 🇮🇹 🇩🇪 🇪🇸 🇵🇱 🇧🇷 🇫🇮 🇺🇦 🇷🇺

We've had very janky support for French, German & Spanish in the past, but with the upcoming launch of Primal Carnage: Evolution we wanted to expand our lexicon.

So, we reached out to the community. A whole team of fan translators are currently hard at work converting the game into multiple other languages! The translation will localize the menus and UI, excluding cosmetic names / descriptions and Intel (which remain in English simply due to sheer size).

As a volunteer effort, we need all the help we can get. If you can assist, let us know!

Full List of Languages (WIP):

  • Brazilian Portuguese

  • Finnish

  • French

  • German

  • Italian

  • Polish

  • Russian

  • Ukrainian

  • Spanish (Castellan)

  • Spanish (Latin American)

We need both additional translators and proofreaders / testers to verify things are correct. Since the translation is a fan-led project, we can't just rely on one person for accuracy.

If you think you can lend a hand, simply hop on to the official Discord and say you'd like to join the translator group. We'll get you an invite.

Don't see your language there? We're adding more all the time, don't be afraid to suggest another!

EVOLVED EDITION

Primal Carnage: Extinction on Steam will be automatically upgraded with a new Evolved Edition later this summer!

Effectively acting as PHASE TWO of the "3.0" overhaul, the new Evolved Edition will introduce our final remastered map (Contingency) to PC, alongside deep new lore, the expanded soundtrack, long-awaited Sandbox Mode with bonus playable dinosaurs (and much more!)

If you already have PCE on PC, you won't need to buy anything - this will be a FREE update to the Steam version, as a thankyou for supporting us all this time. It doesn't feel all that long since we celebrated a decade of the Primal Carnage franchise, now 2025 marks 10 years of Primal Carnage: Extinction itself!

We hope you've enjoyed being on this journey with us.

There's plenty more Primal coming your way...

Thanks for playing!

-The Primal Carnage Team

Anathyma - vonne.malabrigo
We’re excited to drop the first major update for Anathyma, and it’s a big one. You can now jump into online co-op with up to 8 players, unlock Steam Achievements, and climb the Leaderboards to show off your skills.
To make things even more fun, we’ve added a character customization menu, perfect for putting your own flair on your hero in those wild multiplayer lobbies.
The interface has also been revamped, with sleeker menus, a cleaner HUD, and unit outlines that make everything feel sharper and easier to read.
And finally, we’ve added the new Height system to gameplay. Take the high ground and gain an edge, literally, when fighting enemies from above.
Antro - pathgames
ANTRO is now available

After years of hard work, we can finally say it: ANTRO is now available!

It’s been a long road, full of effort. From the very first sketches to seeing the game in your hands, there have been tough moments, many sleepless nights, and above all, an incredible amount of love poured into this project.

Thank you to everyone who’s been with us from the beginning. To those who played the demo, sent us messages, streamed the game, or simply waited with excitement — this launch is yours too.

What is ANTRO?

ANTRO is a rhythm-action platformer set in a dystopian underground world.
But it’s more than that — it’s a statement against the system, a story of rebellion, rhythm, and survival.

Here are some of its main features:

  • Rhythm-based platforming through unique environments.

  • A dystopian underground society divided by class, brought to life with a striking visual and audio style.

  • An original soundtrack blending rap, techno, and other urban genres, fully synchronized with each level.

  • A story of resistance and freedom told through rhythm and movement.

  • Available in multiple languages, fully localized.

Where to play:
  • Now available on Steam.

  • Available digitally on PS5 and Xbox Series.

  • You can also pre-order the physical PS5 edition, featuring exclusive content for collectors.

Thank you, truly, for believing in us.

Now it’s your turn: fight with rhythm, break the system, and escape ANTRO.

See you on the other side.

Hop 'n' Marty - Evilkookey

There is a known ongoing bug preventing players from aquiring the "Electric Jester" achievement. I just wanted to reassure all achievement hunters that this is being worked on and a fix will be coming soon. The achievement will be obtainable in both new save files and save files where it's requirements were already met.
Thank you for your patience on this issue.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 - Hylia
Hello Space Marines!

A few days ago, we released Patch 8.0 - Siege Update, including the Siege Mode, White Scars and Blood Angels Cosmetics, along with several improvements and minor changes. If you haven’t already, you should definitely read the full patch here.

Now let’s rewind a bit, and mostly: let’s discuss what’s coming as the first year of content is slowly coming to an end. Shall we?

WHAT COMES AFTER YEAR ONE? 🧐

As promised, we’re excited to share more details with you, and even more will be revealed in the upcoming Community Updates this July and August. For now, here are a few things we can confirm:

We’re happy to announce that a second year of both free and DLC content included in a new yearly season pass is on the way! This extended support to Space Marine 2 has been possible thanks to your unwavering support, so once again, thank you very much for being part of it!. Expect new PvE missions, enemies, weapons, and… more 👀 It’s too early to provide more info, but stay tuned! 😉

Also, to celebrate the first anniversary of the game, a large-scale update is planned for September, the 10.0 major update. Update 9.0 will not bring new content, but only balancing changes.

Unfortunately, that also means that the new PvP mode we were planning to release alongside the 9.0 update will be postponed to this big 10.0 update as well. While we can’t show you how it looks, the least we can do is to reveal what this new mode will be about:

  • This new mode will take place on a new map.

  • It will oppose 2 sides, but it won’t be Loyalist VS Chaos like in regular PvP. Instead, Chaos will face… Chaos.

  • Last but not least, you’ll be able to take control of the Helbrute. Yup.

As this new game mode is centered around Chaos, new Chaos armours will also be added to the game.

A new melee weapon will also be added as part of this big 10.0 Update: the Power Axe! It will have its own moveset, execution animations etc… We’ll show you more on this weapon later on, but here’s a first look!

Work in progress, final version is subject to change

Finally, we announced a while ago that we are working on a new class for PvE and PvP. We’re now advanced enough in its development to announce that the new class will be a Techmarine! We’ll reveal more about this new class in the next community updates, so stay tuned!

PATCH 8.0 IN DETAILS ⚙️

Patch 8.0 - Siege Update was available via the Public Test Server on Steam. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made a bunch of tweaks and improvements for the live game release of the Patch. So, thank you for your participation! Let’s briefly review the content, or read the full patch notes for more details!

SIEGE MODE

Siege Mode is the new big feature coming with the Siege Update! Check the May Community Update for more details about the gameplay mechanics of this mode.

For those who played on the PTS and provided us with feedback, we heard you loud and clear! You expressed your disappointment regarding the timer. So we changed it a bit. Now, it goes as follows:

⏱️ The timer has changed!⏱️

The biggest criticism regarding Siege mode from the community was the wave timer limit. It exists only for technical reasons, because killing lots of enemies causes memory fragmentation (which, to simplify, would cause a crash after a certain threshold).

We've made some optimizations so the Siege mode can last longer. Timer got reworked, instead of having a limited timer per wave that can get to a very short time on higher waves, there is a timer for the entire session and each time you beat a wave the timer increases. We've also adjusted the difficulty curve of infinite waves so enemies will get stronger faster after the 15th wave. These changes will make players die in fair combat rather than due to the timer.

Also, with some optimizations coming down later we think we can get rid of the timer entirely.

We truly hope you’re enjoying Siege Mode as much as we are and we’re still open to feedback!

FAN CONTEST 🧑‍🎨

Last month we launched a Fan Art Contest with the May Community Update. You were asked to produce any piece of art related to the Campaign Mode of Space Marine 2! 🎨

WryWood did it brilliantly and won 2 keys for Space Marine 2! They came up with these two adorable figures of Brother Valtus and a Tyranid in the midst of a fight!

Such a big piece must have taken a lot of time and effort so make sure you drop a nice little comment under WryWood’s post, to say congrats! 🎊

Cross Blitz - Tarrer42
Ahoy, Blitzers! ✨

We’re excited to share that the beta changes are now live on the main branch! Thanks to all the feedback from our beta players, we’ve fine-tuned these new systems and can’t wait for everyone to experience them.

Changes
New Battle Reward System: Card Buckets
Battle rewards in Tusk Tales now offer themed card buckets!

After each battle, you’ll choose one bucket and receive 1 to 3 cards from it.
  • Buckets are strategically named to help you identify synergies and archetypes at a glance.
  • You can remove cards from the bucket you choose, but you can’t pick from multiple ones.
  • The goal: more synergy, fewer “junk picks,” and a much smoother deckbuilding experience.
Worthy Deadly Battles & Mid-Bosses
These tougher fights will also reward buckets, BUT, with a twist: some cards will come with attached Trinkets, making them significantly stronger and more tempting to add to your deck.

Routing through danger now comes with real upside and more interesting decision-making.

Skippable Taverns
You asked, we delivered: Taverns can now be skipped entirely

To balance this out and encourage more focused builds:
  • If you're traveling with a sub-mercenary, you’ll earn bonus Gold and Husks (on victory).
  • We want to encourage archetype-based builds without locking out mix-and-match options.
  • Let us know how this feels and if single-archetype runs feel more viable and rewarding!
Shop Overhaul & Treasure Cards
Shops now offer more than card removal!
When you visit them, you may discover powerful new Treasure Cards which include:
  • Mismancer Jinn: Flying Your Battlecry & Deathrattle effects trigger twice.
  • Frigidara: Frost, Draconic & Pyro Damage +2.
  • Retch: Battlecry: Redeem a minion from your deck. It gains a random Trinket for the rest of the run.
(...and many more!)

Rerolls
After clearing Ruinous Reef, you'll unlock Rerolls!
  • You’ll start each run with 3 rerolls
  • Use them at Battle Rewards, Taverns, or Shops when something doesn’t quite fit
  • Great for chasing synergy or dodging duds
Seal System
Tired of seeing certain relics or trinkets in every run? After you’ve unlocked a certain number of relics and/or trinkets, you’ll be able to use the new Seal System in the Compendium to block specific items from showing up again.
  • Perfect for tailoring your runs!
  • Ideal for removing items that don’t support your strategy (looking at you, Death Dice)
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that caused minions with Barrier to not break when summoned on a Scorch tile.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the player to open the level tree menu when starting a cutscene.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Magma Trident to only play its attack animation once per game.
  • Fixed a bug that caused tooltips to linger forever in some rare cases.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Aura Screen effects to stay on screen after the aura was removed.
  • Fixed a bug that caused decks to not save after just creating one in Fables.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Pluckbot to remain inactive on board if he stole a trap.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Overkill Accolades to not trigger.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Shadow Groupies hover card to stay up when hovered.
  • Added a custom effect to Scorching Whirlwind.
  • Updated Localization for the new bucket system.
  • Fixed a bug that caused infinite loading in some rare cases when starting Tusk Tales runs.
  • Fixed a bug that caused soft locks and crashes in rare cases during Tusk Tales runs.
  • Fixed an issue where the location background layer would open before the location portrait was loaded.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed locked tavern recruits to be added to your tavern party.
  • Fixed a bug that caused right-click to not register over a relic in the Fable collection menu.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Dual Strike icon to stay on minions that changed sides, when they had the dual strike aura from Dual Blades.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Big Bomb to be on a separate page in the Fables collection.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the "START" button to skip mode selection and force entry into Tusk Tales only.
