We’re back with a new hotfix for you today, looking at multiple crashes, bugs, and pesky glitches.
Have you ever turned up at a party and felt like an uninvited guest? Well, for some of you, the Druid Grove was that party. And that uninvited guest? Well, you. An unusual glitch was making characters back at the Grove hostile towards characters that have been to the Zhentarim Hideout - recognising them as both ‘criminals’ and ‘trespassers’ upon their return to the Grove. We’ve put in a polite word with the druids, or at least talked with the animals in our local petting zoo, and they should be a little more understanding now.
As ever, thank you so much for reporting these issues to us via all our usual channels - we always welcome your feedback as we forge this adventure together. Thank you for playing Baldur’s Gate 3.
CRASHES
The game no longer crashes if you attack Brakkal's cage with the Magic Missile spell.
The game no longer crashes when you climb down certain rocks in the Whispering Depths.
Fixed a rare crash that occurred when loading a save game.
GAMEPLAY
The entire Druid Grove no longer becomes hostile towards you when you return after having entered the Zhentarim Hideout.
Killing Polma no longer causes the inactive companions at camp to become hostile.
Fixed a bug that caused the game to think Surfaces on bridges and other raised walkways were actually on the ground beneath them.
UI
You can no longer remove hotbar icons for followers and temporary companions.
Tooltips now display the action point cost of certain passive features.
Closing the panel that pops up when you open a container now closes the correct panel.
Clicking on a filter in the inventory now displays the Party Inventory.
You can now sort the items listed on your Character Sheet with the Party Inventory filter as expected.
Hovering your mouse over ‘Attack Bonus’ and ‘Damage’ in the Character Sheet now highlights the background and opens a tooltip.
Fixed the sorting pop-up in the character panels.
AUDIOVISUAL
The game audio no longer gets muffled when you press the I key from the Party View.
Fixed a bug that prevented Shadowheart from talking on the beach if she was recruited on the nautiloid.
MULTIPLAYER
You no longer get blocked from modifying your character’s looks, spells, and ability scores if you cancel your Venture Forth.
Fixed an issue causing the 'Waiting for other players' pop-up to appear in single player.
We've received your feedback, listened and now we're taking action!
Due to popular demand, customisation is coming to SpiderHeck! To celebrate this, we've created a brand new community contest. Get involved in the Hat Design Contest for the chance to have your creation featured in the game!
We've got some exciting news as today we are officially announcing that Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers will be launching on May 27 2022!
To celebrate we've got a brand new character trailer to share, featuring the key players that you'll be encountering on your road to victory!
For those of you that missed them first time around, check out our previous posts to learn more about each character:
Domino - A shy individual who struggles to form real attachments. While he may sometimes have a bleak outlook on life he will do anything for his friends.
Grace - A genius in her own right, she helped develop several pieces of innovative technology but prefers the life of an indie game developer.
Jynx - Don't let the icy stare scare you away. Jynx can come across as intimidating but in reality, she's just pragmatic while showing a fierce loyalty to those close to her and their needs.
Locksley - The thief with a heart of gold. As his namesake suggests, Locksley loves nothing more than helping those in need whilst attempting to bring down big corporations.
Rhapsody - Knows everything there is to know about strategy. They are an expert in all things Fist of Discomfort related and a top-notch shoutcaster to top it off!
Zapper - To say that she is passionate would be an understatement. Zapper is highly competitive and likes to do everything at 110%.
We'd love to hear who your favorite character is so far, and who you are planning to get to know a little 'closer' upon release. All of the characters mentioned above can be a potential romantic partner, or your next best friend as you grow your fledgling esports team.
One thing is for certain though; win or lose, they've always got your back!
For players who are veterans of the series, remember that the choices that you made in the original Arcade Spirits will carry over into Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers, unlocking new subplots, character interactions, and Easter eggs!
We’ve released a new update with more fixes for quest progression, brigs, and more! Here are the details:
Buccaneers! Version 1.0.06
Changes - Brigs can now be purchased from any shipyard. - For those who want a challenge, the Brig is now a playable ship. (Please note: this ship was not designed with the player in mind, so the visibility on deck is not ideal. This will be addressed in a future patch.) - Crew numbers will now update in real time on ships’ health bars while AI boarding is in progress. - The Rapier now has a new visual design. - Improved the icons indicating which goods are being imported and exported.
Fixes - Fixed the target ship in “The Hunt” not appearing when going to the ambush point. - Fixed the “Steal Ship” option not working in “The Hunt” if the target ship appears in a Large harbour (such as Havana or Santo Domingo). - Fixed crew numbers sometimes dropping below zero after boarding between AI ships. - Fixed AI ships continuing to use round shot when ordered to “Capture” if their installed cannons don’t have grapeshot. - Fixed ship health bars appearing too big through the spyglass while they’re involved in AI boarding. - Fixed Brigs not being serviceable in any shipyard. - Fixed smugglers not appearing correctly in towns when you go to complete smuggling quests. - Fixed a pathing issue in the blacksmith. - Fixed merchants sticking around in some towns during land battles. - Fixed allied ships sometimes not being serviceable in shipyards due to their faction being unassigned. - [VR] Fixed “Ship’s Wheel Offset” not applying when you spawn on your ship.
Tunguska: The Visitation - Enhanced Edition - Rotorist
Hello Ghoul Hunters!
While chugging away at DLC development, I have decided to add a couple of variants for the notorious Scythe mutants in the BASE GAME to make them more interesting! First is a variant that throws blades at you, which are very deadly due to high bleeding. You'll first see them in Station 11. Then, I added armor to Scythes in higher-level map areas such as Lake Cheko (occasionally) and Ashinaka Forest. Make sure to load up some armor piercing rounds when you see them!
I also received reports that the ghouls will sometimes have difficulty with pathfinding, and just stays in one place for a few seconds while playing the running animation. I was able to reproduce this, but it seems to be an issue with Unity's navmesh pathfinding - sometimes it just can't find a path to reach you in areas with a lot of obstacles. While troubleshooting this issue, I first added some code to detect "pathfinding difficulty" moments, and when that happens I just tell the agent to go to a random spot within one meter and then proceed with pathfinding to reach player. This helped a bit, and then I increased the frequency of updating each agent's pathfinding when there are a lot of them around. While this is also helpful, it revealed an optimization issue - there are too many and too often calls to find certain game objects in the map, which is a slow process.
After optimizing the code, I was able to achieve some noticeable increase in performance. I have also hidden gameobjects that are in the same map but on a different level, to further reduce draw calls. I hope this change brings some improvement in performance for folks with older PCs.
One last thing - I received feedback (well, have been for a long time lol) that throwing grenade was difficult because the trajectory was unpredictable. To address this, I have added trajectory - just pull out the grenade (press 3), hold the Right Mouse Button and you'll see the yellow line showing you where the grenade will land. If you are careful enough, you can even line up the yellow line with a window to toss the nade into the building from outside. The grenade will follow the exact path and land at the exact place where the yellow line hits the ground. Hope you have fun with it :) Also, don't forget to use the Left Mouse Button to roll grenade. There's no trajectory for this because it's all about rolling the grenade on the ground. This is most useful when dealing with doorways.
Here at D'Avekki Studios, we've been busy developing Murderous Muses and thought it was time to give you an update on our progress and what you’ll be able to do in game when it releases later this year.
No Ordinary Gallery
Over the last couple of months, Sam and Tim have been focusing hard on bringing the 3D gallery to life and giving it a mind of its own by adding randomly generated rooms, spontaneously spawning paintings and clockwork exhibits to keep you guessing. The whole game might take place inside the gallery walls, but those walls don’t always stay in the same place!
The Artist's Vision
We’ve also been fleshing out the gameplay and adding loads of things for you to explore. You can discover the otherworldly origins of Mirlhaven Island and its lore - from the Headless Hearseman to the Undulating Hills - by finding and hanging paintings. Then, as the gallery shifts, you’ll encounter strange objects and puzzles that appear overnight, allowing you to unlock secret rooms that weren’t there before. And in the mysterious night exhibition, you can use the swirling ‘Eyes of Mordechai’ to bring paintings to life and see into the past, uncovering the final weeks of the artist and his muses in glorious full motion video!
Framing a Murderer
Which brings us to the heart of the game: the murder mystery - or rather, the murder mysteries. The aim of the game is to work out who killed Mordechai Grey, but we want you to be able to replay it as many times as you like, without being able to tell ‘whodunit’ until the end. This means the murder mystery elements are shuffled whenever you start a new game. The murderer will be chosen at random from one of six potential suspects, along with three framing devices - the clues you’ll use to decide which muse is guilty. You won’t be able to work out who the murderer is until you’ve seen all three frames and revealed each suspect’s connection to them, meaning you can solve the mystery time and time again with no spoilers.
Sketchy Suspects
But that’s only half the story. As well as getting to complete a murder investigation every time you play, you’ll also be unraveling parts of a much bigger puzzle, namely the secrets surrounding Mordechai Grey and his six muses. All of the suspects are very different, and each has their own tragic tale which you’ll need several playthroughs to reveal. There’s the ventriloquist who’s constantly outshone by his dummy, the criminologist pulling the strings of Mirlhaven’s most wanted, the grief-stricken burlesque dancer making all the wrong choices, the perky undertaker with a taste for the macabre, the clockmaker who’s too tightly wound for his own good, and the tennis twins desperate to escape their family curse. Tim and Lynda have been busy writing these scripts over the last couple of months and we’re getting ready to begin casting at the end of this month so watch this space!
We can’t wait to show you more - including features we haven’t even mentioned yet! - but we’ll save some things for another update. In the meantime, if you want to keep tabs on our progress, follow us on Twitter and please wishlist the game below!

PEST CONTROL
If you’ve spotted a bug on your travels across Radlandia, we want to hear about it. While we love Cloverbrook’s wallride-toting bees, and even the giant mutant flies in Sketchside have their charms - we’re definitely not fans of gameplay bugs!
You can send bug reports and general feedback to us directly through our social channels @OlliOlligame across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and or directly to our Social & Community person at Roll7 (RobertRoll7#7426) via our OlliOlli World Community Discord. Our amazing QA team are suiting up as we speak to deal with any reports that roll in - we can’t always respond to your feedback individually, but we do see it all and we really appreciate it.
