We are pleased to announce that we have just started working on the next patch for the basic version of Agony for PS4 and Xbox One consoles!

The patch will contain many improvements and introduce new features known from the UNRATED version of the game. Some of them are:

• traps
  
• level design improvements (new paths, changed item locations etc.)
  
• new lighting system
  
• new skill tree
  
• a new martyr model and some texture improvements
  
• mini-map and a full map
  
• new ending for Succubus
  
• Succubus mode and Agony mode available from the start
  
• a new setting and boss fight for Agony Mode
  
• improvements in the main menu and the pop-up menu

PLEASE NOTE: This patch will not introduce the uncensored scenes available in Agony UNRATED. Agony on consoles will remain a PEGI 18+ game but will be enriched with numerous improvements affecting gameplay and visuals.

The long time we need to perform this patch is caused by the fact that Agony UNRATED contains many changes from the original, and the reconstruction and optimization of the console version will require many weeks of tests and patches. We must ensure that the game progress and trophies/achievements you have already won will not disappear with the new patch.

The UNRATED version of the game was not prepared with consoles in mind, which is why developing the new console patch means large amounts of work and time. And we will do it. We want to do it for you because we actually care.

We're back with an extra pack of good news - the first Agony UNRATED patch is now available for download!

We are currently finishing working on Steam Collector Cards and we will soon add them to the game.

Below you will find a full list of changes in the patch#1 for Agony UNRATED:

• Improved lighting quality - adjusted brightness levels in several places,
  
• Added an additional entrance to the correct sigil mark next to the Kali room,
  
• Increased visibility underwater,
  
• Fixed multiple collision issues,
  
• Fixed temporary black screen when playing basic succubus ending for the second time,
  
• Improved stability (random crashes),
  
• Unlocking 'KillSpiders' skill enables a player to kill a spider without the requirement of winning a minigame first,
  
• Modified camera effects for the Succubus,
  
• Fixed the painting in the level 4; it unlocks properly now in the gallery when collected,
  
• Baphomet will not pull the player from a gap just after 'entering gap' animation started,
  
• Fixed hourglass icon not visible when playing as a soul,
  
• Tweaked the hud in the spider minigame, so it's more clear how to win it now,
  
• Minimap shows crucified martyrs (heart donors),
  
• Fixed misplaced widget in the global ranking screen.

After the announcement of our new project called Paranoid, you have started to ask the obvious question: What about Agony?

We want to assure you that the Agony brand is doing very well! With the release of Agony Unrated, we were able to restore our game to the state we are happy with, and most of all – You are happy with.

Agony Unrated is a much better-rated game than the basic version, and it is a clear signal for us that we are on the right track when it comes to improving our games. We know in which direction we want to go, and this will certainly affect all our new productions.

But with the future ahead of us, we do not leave the past behind! We are going to continue to support Agony, which as a brand is now stronger than ever!

Agony Unrated is going to get the first patch this week! It repairs a lot of issues that you have reported in your feedback, for which, of course, as always, we are grateful.

Besides that, we're just finishing working on the Steam Collector Cards for Agony Unrated, which will also be released very soon.

Madmind Studio at the moment employs 23 people and outsources some more. The team has been divided into two groups. Some of us focus exclusively on Paranoid, the rest of us continue to work on Agony.

So, there you have it. Do not worry, the Red Goddess watches over Agony and isn’t going anywhere!

We are working quietly on the Agony Unrated patch, but today ...
Today we would like to present our brand new game, which has been under production for some time now.

Paranoid is a survival-horror game, combining a deep, psychological story with dynamic and brutal gameplay. The game is set to release on Steam.

About Paranoid

The game tells the story of Patrick Calman, a 31-year-old man who has lost his entire family under mysterious circumstances. His parents died violently and his sister went suddenly missing. Trauma associated with the loss of his loved ones destroyed Patrick's psyche. His own apartment became his prison.
One day Patrick gets a call and the voice on the phone seems to belong to his sister. Thirteen years after the disappearance, she announces her comeback. To learn the truth about everything Patrick will have to leave his life of seclusion, exposing himself to horrible experiences that will put him on the verge of madness.

It is with great pleasure that we want to inform you that our newest game, Agony UNRATED, premieres now on Steam.

Agony UNRATED is available on Steam and it costs 14,99$ / 14,99€ / 49,99 zł.

Thanks to Steam’s help, we have managed to combine the basic version of Agony with Agony UNRATED. This means the game is completely free for any user who already has the basic version of Agony in his Steam library - regardless of when he bought it.

Dear Console Players,

We are aware that you are disappointed because you cannot play Agony UNRATED but, like we stated before, it is not possible to publish the digital uncensored version of our game on consoles.

You have also asked about the improvements that are a big part of Agony UNRATED. Replacing 3D models and textures, adding new functionalities and gameplay mechanics and adding new lighting, would require re-certification and the game would have to be re-sent to rating agencies.

Creating UNRATED as a DLC is not possible.

We cannot even do it on Steam because it would mean disregarding rating agencies and changing the target group, which is illegal due to the fact that the owners of the basic Agony version have paid for the censored version and we simply cannot change the rating.

Therefore, the release of Agony UNRATED is possible only as a separate application, unrelated to age ratings.

The only possibility for Agony UNRATED to appear on consoles is to publish it as a physical version.

Few stores would decide to distribute such a game, therefore finding a publisher who would be interested in producing UNRATED for consoles is extremely complicated.

In order for us to have a chance to do so, we need to have a basis that will show the potential publisher that his investment will return and allow him to earn.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the positive reception of Agony UNRATED on Steam because the probability of the console version depends on its success.

A lot of us at Madmind own both Xbox One and PS4 and we would really love to have Agony UNRATED for consoles in our collection. Therefore nothing is sealed yet and we will inform you if we know anything more.
