Colony Ship: A Post-Earth Role Playing Game - Vince

Vagrus: The Riven Realms is an award-winning, turn-based, open-world dark fantasy strategy-RPG set in a deeply immersive world shaped by over two decades of tabletop roleplaying. Developed by Lost Pilgrims, a team who built their own setting – the Riven Realms – through countless DnD-style campaigns, the game features over 2.5 million words of story-driven, lore-heavy, richly-branching narrative that captures the spirit of classic tabletop adventures. In the game, the player takes the role of a vagrus - a sort of a caravan leader who makes a living in a strange and dangerous dark fantasy world by leading a traveling company on all kinds of ventures.

Lost Pilgrims have just posted a huge announcement on their Steam development blog about releasing their second expansion of Vagrus – At the Heart of Ruin along with a Ruinous Supporter Pack – on Steam and various console platforms. This expansion offers a tight but multi-layered and dense region fraught with conflict and rich with opportunities. Vagri who decide to brave the forsaken paths of this broken realm will be challenged not only by new foes and villains, but also by the very nature one must traverse the mountainous terrain.

  • A dark narrative adventure with several overarching stories as well as shorter adventures

  • Deep quests with multiple outcomes and a plethora of personalities

  • Many new opportunities and challenges for traders, mercenaries, and explorers

  • A host of new enemies, be they crazed scavengers or creatures cursed beyond recognition

  • A large cast of NPCs, some new and some old, who can be a part of your story

  • New minor factions the likes of which few vagri have ever had the chance to befriend or fight against

  • New obstacles, rewards, lore, and more of our signature visual art

Fading Echo - AntoineNT

The Fading Echo playtest has officially come to a close, and first of all, thank you to everyone who joined in. Over the past three weeks, your feedback, bug reports, and Discord discussions have been incredibly helpful in shaping the future of the game.

This blog is our way of opening the devroom doors and sharing what we learned. We’ve grouped the most consistent feedback into key areas and want to walk you through what stood out and what we’re already looking into.

⚔️ Combat: Dash, and Challenge Balance

A big theme in the feedback was how combat feels and we hear you.

  • The dash came up a lot. Many players described it as laggy or delayed, and also noted that it carries the character too far, especially in close-quarters fights.

  • Several testers shared a lack of sense of power during combat. This was sometimes paired with the feeling that enemies were too tanky, even though the fights themselves weren’t necessarily difficult.

  • We also saw that some players felt a bit lost when it came to the game's systemic interactions. With several mechanics or synergies either not being explained clearly, or not surfacing in a way that encouraged experimentation.

📖 Story Delivery: Pacing the Narrative

Fading Echo’s narrative is dense, and we’re excited about the world we’re building, but we’ve realized we might be throwing players into the deep end a bit too quickly.

  • Many players said they needed more time to acclimate to the story and characters.

  • There was also feedback that the dialogues delivered too much information at once, and that the on-screen dialogue boxes took up too much space.

🖥️ HUD Clarity

A few important notes came up regarding how information is presented on-screen:

  • Some players found the HUD difficult to read, which led to confusion during gameplay.

  • The radio system (likely meant to guide or inform players) also became a barrier for some, either due to its presentation or timing.

🎮 Camera & Controls

We want players to feel immersed, but not at the cost of comfort or control.

  • Several testers said the camera was too close to the character, limiting visibility.

  • Additionally, camera sensitivity, especially when using the stick, was too high or inconsistent.

🧱 Level Navigation: Where Do I Go?

Exploration is a big part of Fading Echo, and while that’s something we’re proud of, it also came with a few pain points:

  • Some players mentioned that the main path was hard to identify, leading to unintentional backtracking or confusion about where to go next.

Moving Forward

This playtest gave us exactly what we needed: honest, constructive insight from real players. Your feedback has already kickstarted internal discussions and design sprints to address many of these topics.

We’re committed to making Fading Echo the best it can be and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

Thanks again for being part of this journey.

Future Breach 64 - yuriythebest

  • Added an option in the settings menu where you can select between DirectInput, Xinput (for xbox controllers) and an "disable" (if you have a controller connected but don't want it to interfear). The DPAD is used for selecting team commands (vertical) and inventory items (horizontal).

  • As an aside funny anecdote: the testing was done on a Logitech F710 which has an "X" mode for Xinput (xbox mode), So, Imagine my surprise after spending lots of time trying to understand why the second trigger thingies(L2, R2) didn't, well, trigger, it took looking at an image of an xbox controller to realize they don't have those buttons. lol.

Starfield - christian.vanhoose

Halloween is fast approaching! As the spooky season draws near, add some flavor to your playthrough with any of these hand-picked Creations by some of the finest Creators in the Settled Systems.

(Please note that Creations are not available in all languages.)

Cryomancers – A New Faction
by zone79 – 800 Credits

While not explicitly Halloween-related, there’s something decidedly scary about being frozen to death… and that’s exactly what the Cryomancers will do to anyone that stands in their way. This Creation introduces a brand-new faction stemming from the Spacers that use Cryogenics in their technology.

Play through a new mission that will lead you through their headquarters and find new weapons, companions, a ship with a custom interior, and fully furnished player home along the way.

CombaTech Halloween Skin Pack
by Captain-Ultima – FREE

This free Creation by Captain-Ultima lets you bring the spirit of Halloween with you anywhere in the Settled Systems, with custom Halloween skins for weapons like the Beowolf, Grendel, Drum Beat, Solstice, and more.

Dredgeborn Spacesuit
by FeekaMalloy – 400 Credits

FeekaMalloy was inspired by the art style of H.R. Giger when making the Dredgeborn Spacesuit, a spacesuit designed for true space horror fanatics. With formidable stats and three additional skin options that lean into the space horror theme, this is the perfect spacesuit for the season!

Useful Morgues
by korodic – 300 Credits

Ever wish you could do more than loot your enemies after you take them down? Useful Morgues might be the Creation for you. This Creation adds a whole new type of hab unit, available in 2x1 variants, from Deimos, HopeTech, Nova, Stroud, and Taiyo. These include a custom workbench, which is an autopsy table that you can use to extract harvested organs from corpses collected with a new “bag” option. But be warned—corpses count as contraband and are quite heavy.

1-of-a-Kind Cursed Rovers
by JMPZ11 – FREE

Nothing says “terrifying” quite like a REV-8 with human legs for wheels. This free Creation by JMPZ11 introduces just that, along with three other purposefully disturbing vehicle options for the traveler who wants the most unsettling way to get from point A to point B.

PIGFACE - Ranch Joyride
Hey everyone!

Thanks again for the incredible support! Last week, we told you the roadmap would be out soon, and here it is! Tito is hard at work getting everything ready for the update in November, but here are a few things you can look forward to in addition:

Runeborn - jcharette_idream

This patch will include some nerfs to Malakar. We wanted to address how punishing some of his abilities are in terms of their randomness. These are some quick changes we are making as we work on better solutions to problems with randomness and the feeling of helplessness.

Let us know what you think on Discord!

Changes
  • Updated several Simplified and Traditional Chinese localizations

  • Updated Malakar’s Abilities

    • The Ambush ability will now only destroy 3 Runes and prioritize different Rune Columns if possible

    • Removed "Only the highest scoring Spell Line deals damage" ability

    • The ability that swaps around the entire board will now only swap 1 Rune from each Rune Column

    • The ability that removes all Amulets and Auras will now only target five spots instead of the whole board

Fixes
  • Fixed several number format overflowing issues that were causing softlocks

  • Fixed an issue where Ghub Ghub would target Columns with 6 Runes, show the animation, but not actually destroy anything

  • Fixed a softlock issue in the Tutorial when opening Shops

  • Fixed a softlock issue in the Runebook selection screen

  • Fixed a softlock issue after opening a Chest

  • Fixed an issue where the Health of enemies beyond Endless 44 were 0

Reach - nDreams VR

We have now beta hotfix in place for Steam players experiencing hand calibration, Steam link and hands offset issues. This should work for all supported headsets on Steam. See full details below if you would like to try this fix.

While this fix is on our beta branch, we are hard at work addressing many of the other top issues we're seeing you report. This includes:

  • A new chapter select menu that unlocks as you progress - unlocking replay-ability and play-style experimentation

  • Assign your save to multiple save slots - so you can replay your favourite moments

  • Improved save system stability -  fixes for soft-locks, tutorial blockers, audio issues, and auto-save issues

  • Improved performance and graphical updates -  lighting improvements, fixes, and optimisations

  • Plus a multitude of general quality of life improvements

We're hoping our first major patch will be ready next week (W/C 27th October). Once we have further news on this, we'll be letting you all know.

We thank you all again for you patience while we work together to resolve these issues.

nDreams team

How to access our Beta hotfix for hands calibration and steam link issue for Reach on Steam

We have a beta hotfix in place, however this is currently being internally tested before we roll it out officially. Given that this issue is affecting a number of players, we've decided to make this hotfix available in Reach's beta branch for those who would like to try it.

To access this build, please follow these instructions:

Right click the game on Steam and select properties
Go to beta
Under Beta participation select Reach Beta channel from the dropdown.

Please be aware, you may have to restart Steam before you can see the Beta Channel for Reach.

Also note: if you have manually fixed your offsets on Steam, you'll need to undo those before playing this branch of Reach.

Reminder: All Virtual desktop game compatibility issues should be fixed with their update. As such, we advise all players using virtual desktop to update to the latest version of their software: 1.34.10.
