Trine 2: Complete Story - EllaFB

You probably are unaware of it, but there has been a small team of Frozenbyteans making a game about sword fighting in all secrecy. We’ve been developing, testing, designing and perfecting this game for quite some time now. So let us introduce you to Boreal Blade, a team-based melee fighting game with a focus on PvP combat that combines reactionary and tactical gameplay, and allows you to alternate attacks and to develop a unique fighting style.

Steam Beta
Boreal Blade will be making its way to PC during 2019, but all interested players are welcome to join the Steam beta which is available now! Just head to the official Boreal Blade Discord to request a key. On Discord you can also give feedback to the devs, discuss about the game and look for fellow warriors to battle with. And remember that you can also wishlish the game on Steam while waiting for the release.

About Boreal Blade

They have a saying in Norvalg: Fight for a cause worth dying for.

A noble sentiment, but what happens when almost every cause is good enough to die for? Whenever a decision needs to be made – whether it is about heading to war or determining where the cheese should go in a sandwich – fierce Norvalgian warriors gather in their famous debating arenas, pray for strength from their gods and fight until the truth is uncovered. Are you ready to join the battle?

Boreal Blade is a team-based melee fighting game with a focus on player vs player combat and gameplay consisting of both reactive and proactive elements. The game features various weapon types and three distinctive fighting styles, allowing players to choose between two-handed weapons, a shield and a weapon combo, or long thrusting weapons like spears and pikes. Three armour classes with their strengths and weaknesses are also included to guarantee a varied, everchanging fighting experience.

Boreal Blade strikes an excellent balance between realism and gameplay. The game turns away from the rock-paper-scissors approach where weapons and shields matter only when the player presses the corresponding button to use them for attacking or blocking. Actually, there is no block button at all, but the passive blocking featured in the game allows players to block attacks by simply positioning themselves wisely and timing their attacks with care. Pre-determined attack key combinations and complex counter moves have been abandoned in favour of the beautiful simplicity of only a single attack button - and hundreds of ways to variate every attack. Players can move their weapon and character around freely, turning an attack into a block - and back to another attack just in a blink of an eye. Strikes and blocks meld into a seamless continuity. Weapon movement feels very natural, allowing players to create and modify their signature moves and distinctive fighting styles. More seasoned warriors can spice up their game with dodges, sprints, blocks, powered attacks, feint attacks and weapon throws to confuse opponents and make the battle more unpredictable and exciting.

Boreal Blade gives competitive players the chance to hone their prediction of attacks, counter-attacks, timing and the use of different stances to defeat their enemies on the battlefield and to hack them into pieces!

Key Features

Reactionary and tactical gameplay
  • Complete freedom of attack and block direction performed with simple controls, allowing players to concentrate on their battle tactics and series of manoeuvres and to control the flow of the battle.
  • There are hundreds of ways to variate attacks and players have complete freedom to move the weapon and character around, encouraging them to experiment and find the fighting style that suits them best.

Four multiplayer game modes
  • Players can charge into combat together with their clan mate warriors in Team Deathmatch and Boreal Battle modes where two teams go up against each other.
  • Boreal Claim mode consists of two teams who take turns attacking or defending a banner against the other team.
In Deathmatch it is everyone for themselves – the first warrior to get 20 kills wins the match!

Four different fighting styles
  • Hundreds of weapons, shields, pieces of armour and battle items for developing customized fighting styles and battle tactics.

Detailed character creation and game world
  • Create your warrior and choose their equipment, accessories and weapons and customize their appearance with jewellery, facial hair and armour dyes.
  • Explore the different fighting arenas across the Nordic mythology inspired, paintinglike Norvalg.

The game was also released today on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch. There is a free demo version and full game available for all aspiring warriors. Both the demo and the full game are compatible, allowing players of both versions play together!

After five years in the making, we are thrilled to announce Starbase and to reveal first details about the game and the official announcement trailer!

Starbase is a massively multiplayer online game with gameplay focused on building and designing spaceships and stations, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, trading, and combat.
Coming to Early Access later in 2019, you can wishlist the game here on Steam.

https://youtu.be/zXLTFwoYM_s

About Starbase

Get ready to conquer space by yourself or with friends in the ever-expanding universe of Starbase! Starbase is an MMO with a fully destructible environment and a multitude of fine-detailed simulations that allow you, the players, the ultimate freedom to conquer space and unleash your creativity.

Set in a universe of huge scale and detail, the fully-destructible environment and the hybrid of voxel and vertex-based game mechanics enable simulations in the game at immense depth. Wow, that’s a fancy sentence, right? But what does it even mean? Well, in practise, this:

Minor collisions may break a few outer plates from your spaceship, while fast-speed crashes can rip the ship apart. Thruster propellant pipe leaks may cause spaceships to stall, but the corrosive, leaking propellant might also melt the superstructure of your precious ship and cause a catastrophic failure. Damaged ship controls in a spaceship do not necessarily mean your space travelling is over, as you can apply manual values for the flight directly to the generator and thrusters from the engine room. Just remember that someone might steal your precious cargo while you are fixing away in the engine room.

The scale and depth of the simulation in all aspects of the game gives you the ultimate freedom to use your innovativeness and creativity – the building blocks of success in Starbase. From constructing single spaceships with durable outer platings to creating massive automated factories and designing electricity and data networks, you are free to do it your way.

Key Features:

Destructible environment with voxel and fracture damage and in-depth simulation

  • The environment in Starbase is fully destructible, meaning everything can be destroyed or disassembled with the right kind of tools and weaponry.
  • The in-depth physics simulation enabled by hybrid of voxel and vertex-based game mechanics make fights, exploration and flying spaceships more creative and fun and the simulation of structural and elemental durability in the game adds its own twist and challenge to the efforts to conquer space. Poorly designed superstructures combined with overpowered steering thrusters can snap the spaceships in half if cutting corners too much in a space race!

Play and interact online with thousands of players, join factions, and more

  • Start shaping the Starbase universe with fellow robots by joining and working for factions. Build, fight, chat and group up with other players to discover and settle the vast galaxy that is waiting for its first conquerors to make their mark.
  • Mine asteroids by yourself, trade and haul cargo with your friends, or build a capital station with a huge company.
  • Take part in the battle between the Empire and the Kingdom, or leisurely explore the galaxy while the insurance system has you covered should you accidentally wander into uncharted space.

Build and design your spaceships, stations, and devices down to the tiniest detail

  • The smallest building unit in Starbase is a single bolt, allowing you to build, repair and modify spaceships, stations, and devices as you wish.
  • Even the smallest ships have thousands of parts, each with their own detailed damage model, making building and designing a truly creative process.
  • Learning to use the in-game programming chips will take building and designing to a new level; innovation, automation of ships and creating clever ship layouts will make all the difference!

Explore the infinite universe and gather resources

  • Explore the vast universe to discover stations, social hubs and new raw materials. Arrange an exploration mission with friends and find out what the universe has to offer.
  • Travel to an asteroid field to mine raw minerals and salvage different materials from broken ships, trade materials at trading stations or steal from others if that floats your (space)boat.

Early Access

Starbase Early Access invites you, the pioneers, to a new galaxy that you can begin to first explore from one station, the Mega Station, located at the celestial orbit of a single planet. As you eventually settle the entire orbit, you can start finding ways to travel to the planet’s moons and someday all the way to other planets and distant star systems. The still unoccupied universe of Starbase offers adventurous pioneers the chance to take part in the building of the galaxy and in discovering what will be the first steps in the twilight of space travel.

Early Access allows you to explore, buy and modify spaceships, form social connections and to earn money by gathering and selling resources. You can start building your home stations at the Mega Station and begin the exploration and creation of the Starbase universe together with us here at Frozenbyte.

The magical puzzle-platforming adventures of a thief, a knight, and a wizard will continue this autumn in Trine 4, developers Frozenbyte announced today. Following a terse announcement for the game last year, now they’ve opened up with screenshots and a trailer and details and all that marketing jazz. Once again, our trio will be leaping around levels, solving physics-driven puzzles and smashing baddies in different ways with their different abilities. Perhaps most notably, Trine 4 is going back to the side-on ‘2.5D’ style of the first two games, after Trine 3’s expedition into the third dimension turned out a little blah.
