Hey everyone! Just a couple of minor adjustments:
  • Flame Ball particle effect is now more spread out, rather than being emmitted directly from its center.
  • Paddle tracking of the mouse's position has been slightly tweaked. This probably won't be noticable at all for most players, but it may help the responsiveness of some monitors that have a refresh rate different from the game's framerate.

Hey there brick breakers! Got a nice little update for you - two new music tracks! Compared to some of the more high-energy tracks, these two are on the calmer, steady-paced side. Hope you like them, and have a good day, everyone!

Hey there brick breakers! I wanted to let you know about the future plans of Brickochet.

First off, I'd like thank everyone for their support and feedback. It means a lot to see such positive critiques, comments, and anticipation for potential content.

Releasing new features and content requires time, energy, and to a lesser but significant extent, money. Creating new content is something I passionately enjoy doing, but it would not be financially conceivable to do so indefinitely. With extensive consideration on ways to deal with this factor, I have decided to plan new Brickochet titles!

I am therefore proud to announce the Brickochet series. The new title (probably called Brickochet 2) is still a very long way off, but will boast 100 levels, new power-ups, music, and level backgrounds, among other things.

Additionally, I have heard what many of you have said -- you want a level editor! Instead of having one for each game, I believe it would be best that a single game is made exclusively for this purpose. This is so the Brickochet community doesn't get broken apart and separated between releases. And yes, this means I intend for the game to have Steam Workshop support! I must admit however, that I could be getting waaaay over my head with this one. I'm just a simple self-taught developer, and I have no idea how to get this to work. It's going to take time. A lot of time!

Lastly, I promised some more music for Brickochet, and that indeed will be coming up next! Expect two new tracks sometime in February!

Hi everyone! Got a major update for you all -- 25 brand new levels!

Now you can select between two 'Sets' of levels. Set 1 contains the original 50, and Set 2 has the new 25. Each Set has their own highscore table and level select screen. Three more achievements for the new levels have been added as well!

Switch between Set 1 and 2 with the button on the highscore table. You can also switch Sets in the level select screen. Happy brick breaking, everybody!

EDIT (1/2/18): Separate buttons have been made for switching between Set 1 and 2, instead of toggling with one button. They are now above the difficulty mode buttons.

Hi everybody! Got a quick fix:
  • Screenshots now work when pressing F12.
My apologies for not noticing this sooner. I assumed the screenshot system was automatic, but I guess I had to add a bit of code. Have a good day everyone!

Hey there brick breakers! Got the first major update for you today -- difficulty modes!

Here's what they entail:

EASY
- Ball accelerates half as fast.
- Uncommon power-ups spawn more often.

NORMAL
- Standard game difficulty.

HARD
- Ball's inital speed is faster.
- Ball accelerates twice as fast.
- Uncommon power-ups spawn less often (extra life still spawns as often as NORMAL).

There are no penalties to playing the game on any difficulty level. In other words, you can still receive all the achievements on EASY. But if you're interested in getting the highest score possible, HARD is the way to go, since more points are earned the faster the ball goes.
