Just a final message/reminder that this is your last chance to get your OLD account migrated to our Sparkypants servers. The ability to do so ends March 31st so if you don't want to lose your progress definitely file a support ticket with Gameforge by following the instructions in this post:

After March 31st all old accounts will no longer be able to be recovered. If you purchased the Squad or Commander edition, you will still have those bundles if you make a new account after the migration ends, but any game progress will be lost.

Hello Dropzone fans!

As you may or may not know, Sparkypants took over publisher duties for Dropzone and setup a manual migration with Gameforge for all players that missed the automatic migration in the middle of 2017. Unfortunately this manual migration service is coming to an end on March 31st, 2018.

If you are still interested in retaining your account from before the publisher switch, please follow the instructions found here, before March 31st:

  • AI "Take Control" Option
    • It’s been a long time coming, but it is now possible to gain control of the AI rigs that take over for any teammate that leaves the match prematurely
      • The moment a teammate leaves or disconnects from the game, simply click on the rig that is now controlled by the AI and look at the Inspection Window in the upper-right corner. Click the “Take Control” button and voila, that rig is added to your Command Grid!
      • Only one player can take control of an AI rig. There is no sharing
      • When you take control, your rig selection will immediately switch to the rig you gained control of
      • This can be used in Solo skirmishes as well, if you want to ease into 2rig or 3rig control without committing to a full 15 minutes of micro multitasking
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that caused Day of the Dead Fury’s Regenerative Layering from not dealing its burst heal before the heal regen (already hotfixed in shortly after the release of 2572)
  • Fixed an issue where Regenerative Layering was not showing its cooldown state in the Command Grid
  • Fixed an issue where Steam Powered Pandora’s Skylance was not giving preview sight of target location when Skylance was launched
  • Fixed an issue where the hover-over pilot portrait status next to the scoreboard was not updating in real-time.
  • Fixed an issue where Healing Dome was healing outside the boundaries of the dome FX by 1.5m
Known Issues
  • Locking Observer slots in Custom Matches only works when both slots are empty
  • The Private Match setting only works when the game is already created, so someone can join in-between
  • Hive Link does not have a cast ring around hives to show where the ability can be cast
  • Global Chat does not reflect your changed name until you have restarted the game
  • Crazed Banshee is not triggering General Vex’s damage buff passive. A fix is being worked on

We're very excited to give you a big sweep of balance changes, gameplay additions to objective points, a new Overtime rule, and of course... our very first Vanity crate feature everyone's favorite upcoming holiday, HALLOWEEN! Check all the details below and post in the comments if you have any questions!

Gameplay Notes
  • Objective Escalation
    • All three objectives now have a second tier available to complete after the first tier is taken.
    • There is a 60 second timer after the Tier 1 objective is completed, allowing you and/or your team members time to strategize on how you want to complete the next objective
    • Once an objective is taken, any current progress on that objective is wiped clean
    • Tier 1 and 2 adjustment/changes:

  • Halloween has come to Europa! (err… Europaween??)
    • To help celebrate the event we have added our very first vanity crate to the crate Shop and every single player that logs in for the month of October will get ONE FREE Halloween vanity crate! Just visit the shop and claim it!
    • We've filled it with a variety of unique and spoopy items like:
      • Zombie Vanguard gear skins
        • Scatter Laser
        • Thrusters
        • Zealot Drive
        • Angel of Mercy (Automatically given when you collect and equip the Weapon, Body, and Utility)
      • Halloween Uplink Animation and Sounds

    • Important note: It is impossible to get duplicates with Vanity crates! So the good news is once you purchase the crate and receive your item, the next time you purchase the crate you’re guaranteed to get a different item from the crate!
  • Custom Uplink Animations
    • There is now an Uplink section in the Collections menu. Simply select which uplink you want to use (if you have one of the new custom ones), and that uplink will play in-game for everyone playing, not just you! (only if you are the one uploading of course)
  • Rename Tokens are finally here!
    • Purchasing a token is as easy as navigating to the Account Settings section of your Player Profile and clicking purchase
    • Once you have a token, simply enter the new name you want and click Save Name
  • The Crate counter in the upper right of the Home Scene will now say “Buy Crates” instead of “0 Crates”. Clicking this button in this state will take you directly to the Crate Shop
  • Kill banners have been added for single rig kills
  • Dropship avatar packages have been sent to all our Dropship retweeters!
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where Velocity Ramp disengaged when your rig was around a friendly totem like plasma drone or turret
  • Fixed an issue where any non-rig unit that had less than 1HP of health was displaying as having 0HP. They will now show 1HP instead
  • Fixed an issue where Gravity Gun’s ability damage was not being applied to enemy’s that were not affected by the pull: Hives and Bosses

Greetings everyone. Recently Dropzone's publishing was switched from Gameforge to Sparkypants internally. There was an in-game message during a 5 week window asking for each players' permission to migrate their account, but it's possible some of you accidentally chose "No" instead of "Yes", or you just weren't logged in during the 5 weeks leading up to the migration.

If this is the case and you have recently logged in to discover everything has been reset, please do not worry. Simply send a support ticket to Gameforge with your SteamID and previous in-game Dropzone name and your account will be manually migrated over for you! :)

SteamID Instructions:
1) Open up your Steam client and choose View, then click Settings
2) Choose Interface and check the box that reads, "Display Steam URL address when available"

Your SteamID will be listed in the URL at the top left (it's the 17 digit number at the end.)

If you have a custom URL, the number will not be listed. In that case, just give us the entire URL.

Hello Core hunters! This week's patch will release August 16th. We have some quality of life changes and some fixes, but most importantly we have added a 'Consent to Transfer' message/setting for all current players. You can follow this link for all the details as to why we have done this:

Message to All Players
  • 'Consent to Transfer' message and user interface has been added
    • On September 6th, 2017, Gameforge will be relinquishing its role as publisher of Dropzone and handing the game over to its developers, Sparkypants
    • All items, game progress and unlocked content remain yours
    • If you click ‘Yes’ during the popup message your Steam ID and account name will be transferred from Gameforge to Sparkypants
    • If you click ‘No’ your account details will not be transferred to Sparkypants and you will have to create a new game account if you want to play Dropzone again
    • If you wish to change your mind, you can do this at any time from the Account Settings menu in the Player Profile section of the game until the September 6th transfer
Miscellaneous Notes
  • You can now mute individual teammates via the “Show Stats” hotkey menu
  • The Watch menu filter now remembers the previous search parameters when loading back in
  • The Friends list is now anchored to the very right of the Main Menu. In situations where a lower resolution still causes overlap of the Friends list and the Global Chat window, there is now proper z-indexing to bring forward the window you have clicked on

  • Fixed an issue where entering siege mode would clear your current target when it should not have
  • Fixed an issue where the Rewards Screen would not show up after the Post-Match Results Screen due to a player disconnecting and then reconnecting
  • Fixed an issue where team coloring during Replays was incorrectly using yellow-green for the right-side team
  • Fixed an issue where deselecting a rig would break the UI and HUD for observers during Live games and/or Replays

On September 6th, 2017, Gameforge will be relinquishing its role as publisher of Dropzone and handing the game over to its developers, Sparkypants.

This will not change anything for you – all items, game progress and unlocked content remain yours.

In order to continue playing with your account, we need to receive consent to transfer your account details to Sparkypants by September 6th.

From August 16th, a window will open when you launch Dropzone in which you can provide consent to transfer your account details with a single click. This window will appear only once.

Simply click on ‘Yes’ and your Steam ID and account name will be transferred from Gameforge to Sparkypants.

We will not transfer your data if you do not so wish. Simply click on ‘No’ if that is the case. Your account details will not be transferred to Sparkypants and you will have to create a new game account if you want to play Dropzone again.

Please note:
  • If you wish to change your mind, you can do this at any time from the profile account settings menu in the game until the September 6th transfer.
  • Sparkypants are based in the USA and therefore different privacy laws apply.
  • If you do not agree to the transfer, your details will be deleted on September 6th. All previous game progress will be lost. If you wish to continue playing Dropzone afterwards, you will have to create a new account.
  • On September 6th, we will need to carry out extensive maintenance, during which time the servers will likely be offline for several hours. Of course, we will try to keep this downtime to a minimum.

Miscellaneous Notes
  • Custom Lobby now supports variable rigs per player
    • This change replicates what players are able to seek for in the Quickmatch queue
    • Only the Host of the lobby can adjust the amount of rigs the other players use
    • Next to each name is a Dropmark icon that rotates when clicked. The number of red dots indicates how many rigs that player controls
    • The size of the player slot will automatically adjust based on the number of rigs that player is controlling
  • The level cap restriction for Ranked Draft in Custom Lobbies has been lifted
    • 1v1 (3 Rig control per player) no longer requires level 10 but still requires owning 6 pilots
    • 3v3 (1 Rig control per player) no longer requires level 5
  • Dead rigs will now have a “skull and crossbones” overlay on their pilot portrait in the Command Grid
  • The 4th “Ranked Squad” slot in the Builder is now a normal slot that can be selected and renamed
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from utilizing the Ranked Draft option in a 6 player (3v3) Custom Lobby game
  • Fixed an issue that caused the uplink SFX, VFX, and HUD animations to continue if a rig was killed during the uploading process
  • Fixed an issue that caused Shrapnel’s profile quote to be “null”
  • Various localization fixes
Known Issues
  • Locking Observer slots in Custom Matches only works when both slots are empty
  • The Private Match setting only works when the game is already created, so someone can join in-between
  • Hive Link does not have a cast ring around hives to show where the ability can be cast
  • Global Chat does not reflect your changed name until you have restarted the game
  • Due to the new leveling system, older replays will be using observer information that is out of date. A replay wipe will be in the near future, so we suggest video capturing any replays you would like to save
