Salutations!


To get started: We're back from vacation! (and other deviations...)

First, we'd like to get the main branch of the game on the same level as Experimental, as we have some exciting content coming to Experimental in not very long! We don't want to say much of about it right now, but we can asure you it's great stuff!

This patch will bring more modding capability to the main branch as well as some quality of life changes and fixes.

CHANGELOG:

New additions:
  • Added a delete button to workshop items.
  • Added color markers to selected objects in the scope dropdown menu.
  • Added highlightning to warning triangles.
  • Added functionality for replacing lines from the vanilla content.
  • Added the option to prioritize activities in the Department activity view.
  • Added the patients' conditions in the activity view of a Department.
  • Added links to a patient's journal in the Department activity view.
  • Added more detailed error messages when loading a mod with errors.
  • Added a Recruit Staff button to the Department staff window.

Changes:
  • Improved the support for mods with identical names.
  • Improved text popups to tell if rooms are needed in the hospital or a department.
  • Doubleclicking on a room template text will now open the handbook.

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed an error which caused the "one moment" screen to get stuck.
  • Fixed an issue with the "Remove mod" button.
  • Fixed the "missing mod" error message.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the loading circle on the recruitment screen to continue while paused.
  • Fixed an issue which caused unnassigned rooms to be stuck with the wrong department color.
  • Fixed a bug that caused all rooms for a task to seemingly be required within the department even though it is not specified as such in the task.
  • Fixed a bug which caused entries to appear twice in warning popups.
  • Fixed several typos.
  • Fixed a bug in storing and selling objects.
  • Fixed a bug in the room assignment mechanics.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the room warning triangles to get stuck if the room was destroyed.
  • Fixed an error which caused the Department activity list to freeze.
  • Fixed a bug which disabled the option to prioritize tasks.
  • Minor improvements++.

The State of Hospitalize!

Greetings Everyone!


We would like to go over a little bit about what state both us and Hospitalize is in right now, so that you guys know exactly what page we are on at this point in time!

To start off, these last months our work has been quite impacted by the fact that we have been working on multiple fronts at the same time. It can lead to slower progress all in all, but is needed before any big changes can take place. We're starting to see it all "come together" and can focus on what we really want again.

Our programmer Cedric has updated the in-game bug report tool which is much more intuitive than before and will make it easier for us to localize and deal with bugs.

It's been a lot of fun to finally have been able to release modding (Yay!). This is something we have been wanting since the early days of Hospitalize, but did not really have the opportunity to before. More work still remains for some modding capabilities and we will keep a close eye on modding activity to be able to follow up loose ends.

Some have noticed that we have been working on improvements for Scopes in Departments. We did a poll in our Discord, asking what people thought was maybe not the best when it comes to Departments and it made it clear that some things can definitely be better. Working on this is priority right now.

Hope you all are as excited as we are and that you keep supporting us like always. You are tremendously helpful and awesome!

Hello Everyone!


Modding is now available to all! WARNING: Please backup your savegames if you are going to play around with modding!

We can't wait to see what you guys can come up with! Here's a link to a Wiki that we have started, together with a Getting Started tutorial for modding! There are also mod examples here created by us for you to take reference from!

  • Fixed a bug which caused rooms to be unassigned when loading a game. (This would cause all pasients and staff members to stand around not doing anything, because there weren't any rooms for them to use.)

More and more polishing! With this update the game becomes much smoother even with bigger hospitals. There are also some new added features, be sure to read about them!

With this, we're getting closer and closer to the point where we would like to introduce some new content again. We found it was vital that we took care of bugs and performance issues before we embarked on any new additions. We're very excited to be able to develop some new content again!

But first, let's read the changelog for patch 0.13.4.12:

CHANGELOG:

New additions:
  • Added a warnings & errors overview to the department mechanics:
    • Error when a department is without any employees.
    • Error if a department is without any rooms.
    • Error if a department is missing scopes.
    • Warning if a manager slot is available, but unassigned.
    • Warning on scope troubles.

Changes:
  • Increased the maximum room size from 200 squares to 1000 squares. (Yay!)
  • Increased performance when constructing.
  • Increased performance when calculating shadows.
  • Increased performance while the 'hospital settings' window is open.
  • Performance increase++.

  • Fixed a bug which caused the scope to malfunction.
  • Fixed several typos in the Tutorial.

Another patch for Hospitalize, this time featuring a lot of improvements to departments, scopes and performance! (And of course a bunch of bugfixing!) Like last time, we've included some input from ourselves at the end of the changelog, give them a read!

CHANGELOG:

New additions:
  • Added warning triangles to patients who are outside their designated department. (This will make it very obvious to see which patients are stuck in your hospital.)
    • If a triangle is pointing to a patient which is out of bounds, you can click the triangle to be taken to the corresponding patient.
    • Hovering over the triangle will show a brief description of the patient's situation.

Changes:
  • Improvements to the patient schedule mechanic.
  • Employees now schedule departments for examinations and treatments during consultation.
  • Increased performance when constructing.
  • Increased performance when calculating shadows.
  • Increased performance while the 'hospital settings' window is open.
  • Performance++.

Bugfixes:
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the milestone system from progressing.
  • Fixed an issue with the Pharmacy room.

"We have located the source of many memory leaks which will be taken care of as soon as possible. We have improved the performance a lot lately, and will continue doing so going forward. This will make the game run more smoothly on most computers as well as preventing bugs related to memory.

Time for a new update! We're sure many of you will enjoy this one, as it features a highly requested feature: Sandbox Mode!

  • Added "Phlebotomy Cart" for Nurses to collect samples in the wards. (Used in "Bloodanalysis at ward" & "Urinalysis at ward".)
  • Added the option to hide autosaves in the load game screen.

  • Nurses will now reject new patients when the Hospital's patient cap is reached.
  • Improvements to the task mechanics to avoid characters and objects getting stuck.

  • Fixed a bug in the Emergency Consultation which caused the game to crash.

More fixes and adjustments! You'll find that most procedures run at more "realistic" speeds now. Tell us what you think!

    • Physical examination procedure.
    • Blowtest procedure.

    • Blood analysis procedure.
