We're also celebrating this occasion with the start of pre-orders for the new DLC of Warhammer 40,000: Gladius, called Chaos Space Marines!

You can pre-order it on Steam, so check it out.

Moreover, we are releasing new free content for both Gladius and Sanctus Reach.

New Cultist unit for Gladius

A new neutral unit is being added to Warhammer 40,000: Gladius. Heresy has spread among the ranks of the Astra Militarum, and dissent and sedition are rampart. Many deserted, and joined new ragtag bands and cults.

The Chaos Cultists are a new neutral unit all playable factions will have to deal with. Warhammer 40,000: Gladius is the first 4X strategy game set in the dark future of the 41st millenium. Lead one of the playable factions and claim the entire planet for yourself. Only through war you will conquer it!

New Skulltaker unit for Sanctus Reach

Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach sees a new addition to the Chaos Daemons roster: the Skulltaker!

He’s Khorne’s immortal champion and the most fierce of its Bloodletters. What better new entry for the Skulls of the Skull Throne event than a Khorne Daemon whose only and entire purpose in its existence is to take the skulls of his enemies? And he excels at it.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - Alberto

We have been working and making games with Games Workshop for years, and we are happy to have made several Warhammer 40,000 games with them.

Tomorrow our friends from Nottingham are going to celebrate the opening of their 500th store, and we thought it was a nice occasion to have a little celebration of our own in their honour.

So, without further ado, Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach, Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon and Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - Da Orks will be discounted at 50% off for the duration of the whole weekend until October 22nd! The discount will begin in 2 hours at 6 pm BST.

Don't miss this chance to get them: recreate the battles on Alaric Prime and on Armageddon, true history pages which tested the mettle of the heroes of the Imperium of Man.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

There have been 40,000 Warhammer 40,000 video games, but none I'm aware of revolve around the Adeptus Mechanicus.

The Adeptus Mechanicus are a group of humans who really, really love steel, technology and machines. They live on Mars building the Imperium's tech, while maintaining an army of their own. Basically, if Digital Foundry was a Warhammer 40,000 race, it would be The Adeptus Mechanicus.

So we come to Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus, a new game published by Kasedo Games (Rise of Industry) and developed by little-known French studio Bulwark (Crowntakers). There's not much to go on right now, but we do know Mechanicus is a turn-based tactical game set for release on PC, Mac and Linux later this year. I'm hoping for an XCOM-style game, basically. Here are some pre-alpha screenshots:

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon

There's a new Warhammer 40,000 game in the works - yes, another one! - but this one looks interesting.

Gladius - Relics of War looks a lot like a Warhammer 40,000-flavoured Civilization game. It's developed by Proxy Studios, maker of 4X turn-based game Pandora: First Contact, and published by Slitherine, the company behind Warhammer 40,000 games Armageddon and Sanctus Reach.

The video, below, reveals the four races: Space Marines, Astra Militarum (aka Imperial Guard), Orks and Necrons. I'm particularly excited about the inclusion of the Necrons. It's been a good while since I got the chance to use Warhammer 40,000's mysterious race of robotic skeletal warriors in a video game.

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - Muso;
Our partnership with Games Workshop generated two of our most beloved series so far: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach. We are now announcing our third, ambitious project created in the Warhammer 40,000 setting.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War incorporates the dark, gothic, far future science-fantasy setting in ways never tried before. A brand new, deep storyline has been created to combine elements of 4X gameplay with a combat-focused system. The evolution of technology, construction of infrastructures and exploration of an unknown world, goes hand in hand with the management of military resources, including heroes with special abilities and mighty war machines.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius has been designed to give four totally different gameplay experiences, depending on which factions players choose. Space Marines, Astra Militarum (aka Imperial Guard), Orks and Necrons each have dramatically different characteristics, both in how they develop and expand and in the way they interact with allies and enemies. This gives the game virtually endless replay value and players the chance to play out the same experience in totally divergent ways.
In Warhammer 40,000: Gladius there is also a massive difference between playing solo or in multiplayer. The deep storyline was created from scratch to allow players to explore an entire world and lead the expansion of an empire from the ground up. The discovery of ancient artefacts and the custom-crafted quests will reveal the secrets of the planet and its mysterious history as the story progresses.
The real-time multiplayer system lets players build their own path to victory while fighting against live opponents, time and the natural perils that Gladius hides.

If you happen to be in Nottingham this weekend, you may also be interested in the Warhammer 40,000 Open Days, where you’ll be able to try a preview of Gladius!
For those who won’t be able to take a sneak peek in Nottingham, however, we are going to run a live stream on our Twitch channel the 1st of December, 2 PM EST / 7 PM GMT / 8 PM CET, where we will show a preview of this brand new game!
Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon - Alberto
A few months ago Slitherine was contacted by a computer engineer from Turkey (birthplace of the Emperor, beloved by all) called Gunes Kuday. He is a fan of Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon and he proposed to work on a free update for it. There were some aspects of the game he wanted to improve, so we gave him the source code and he has worked since then to expand the game.

We are happy to announce that the first community update for Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon is now ready!

It is a completely free and optional update, one that you can now download easily from this link or from here. It is stand-alone, you just need to have the base version of Armageddon installed on your computer (either the Slitherine or Steam version).

To play it, after downloading, unzip the files and put them in a new folder on your hard drive, not in your game files folder, and run ArmageddonGame.exe.

It is a stand-alone: you can just download, place the files in a new folder, and play, without needing to install anything! You only need the base game installed on a different folder on your computer.

Thank you so much Gunes for your hard work!

For this occasion, we are also putting Armageddon and all its DLCs on sale for one week! Don’t miss it!

New features

- Fourth weapon option to any unit and new GUI

It is now possible to mod the game and add a fourth weapon to any unit, and it will be shown in every screen in the game! Furthermore, Baneblades were given extra weapons to fill the 4th slot, and they are now more powerful than before.

- Siege weapon trait

Now the “siege” weapon trait makes it ignore half of the target’s cover bonus, making all siege weapons really good at hitting units in cover.

- Terror weapon trait

Now weapons with the Terror trait will cause 10 points of extra morale damage, making them extremely effective at destroying the enemy morale.

- AA Weapon trait

AA Weapons will now have 100% accuracy against Flying units. Did you ever find that those deffkoptas were a thorn in your side? Fear no more and use those AA guns!

Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon will be at 50% off for the duration of the Skulls for the Skull Throne promo!

For this special occasion we have decided to release a new free unit available to the Orks: a LOOTED BANEBLADE!

The Baneblade is one of the most powerful and largest super-heavy tanks available to the Imperium, true behemoths of steel, and one single Baneblade is more than capable of turning the course of battle all by itself. As such, they are prized possessions.

Unfortunately, the xeno filth seems to have captured one! After a few... cosmetic modifications... they are now ready to drive it and unleash hell on the Imperium's defenses on Armageddon.

The Looted Baneblade is now available for free as part of the latest update!

With 7 great DLCs featuring the Imperial forces of the Armageddon Steel Legion and Space Marines from a variety of Chapters against the Ork Waaagh through over 30 scenarios, the game offered hundreds of hours of pure entertainment!
