Roast Party is moving from a paid game to "free to play" on 9/16/2021!

With this update, players can play for free from Steam, Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and our website, roastpartygame.com.

To reward paid players we are granting 2000 "Roast Tokens" to use for purchasing in-game content. If you paid for the game through Steam, you should see the "Roast Tokens" in your account by 9/16/2021.



New solo gamemode "Roast Me"

The solo mode "Roast Me" has been added to the Steam game!

In this game mode, you no longer need an active lobby of players for roasting. You can now submit an image for this game mode, then other players can roast your image at any point and you'll be able to view the roasts from your profile. There is also a public wall of players who have been roasted and you can up/downvote roasts!

You earn in-game currency by getting upvotes on the roasts that you leave on other players! Please let us know if you encounter any bugs.



Also, the first player to reach 2000 points in-game to win $100 and an exclusive "Roast Master" Avatar Border!

Roast Party is now available to play for free on iOS devices from the Apple App Store! Roast Party will be released on the Google Play Store in February.

With the release of the mobile app comes in-game currency, a scoring system, an avatar border shop, and the newly released leaderboard!



With the new release of the leaderboard system, we begin our first giveaway! The first player to reach a score higher than 2000 will win $100 (steam giftcard, venmo, paypal, or amazon giftcard), along with the event reward avatar border "Roast Master"!



Notes:
1. We keep records in our databases of all games and any player caught exploiting the system will be disqualified.
2. The mobile app does not yet have the leaderboard system, but it does store your currency/score. The mobile app should have the leaderboard patch within the next few days.
3. You will be the only player to have the "Roast Master" border until the next giveaway. This border can only be obtained by winning an event.
4. Currency/scoring can only be obtained from playing from the Steam game, or iOS app. Players playing from the web browser do not get rewards.

Exclusive Avatar Border

We are super excited to announce that Roast Party is coming to the iOS operating system!

Anyone with an iPhone or iPad can download the Beta for free right now!

Along with this update comes a new currency system that is gathered by winning rounds of Roast Party. You can use these tokens to unlock avatar borders in-game. This update just went live on Steam!

Currently, tokens are only used for unlocking avatar borders, but we will be adding new functionality where the tokens can be used for triggering a soundboard or playing animations. Example: Use 50 tokens to play a "boooo" sound clip, or 100 tokens to play a huge flame animation that says "Roasted!" on the screen.



While testing please take screenshots of any issues you may see in game. The TestFlight app for Beta testing will send the photos to our dev account. We are mainly testing proper screen sizing, in-game currency, and avatar border transactions as the core code of Roast Party has already been tested on Steam. The micro-transactions are only for sandbox testing so ignore the buttons on the top left of the transactions screen for now.

Roast Party now has three different game modes: Freestyle, Prompts, and Meme.

Also, as highly requested by the community, free browser play now allows both Twitch and Steam login. It's never been easier to get into a game of Roast Party!

Freestyle mode allows you to roast other player's submitted images without the help of prompts.

Prompt games show cards that help guide the game. Use these prompts to roast the images submitted by other players.

Meme mode pulls random images from the internet for you to roast. No prompts, just sweet sweet burns.

Hey all! New avatar borders are on the way. We should be implementing them into the game within the next 2 weeks.

There are many more that I am working on as you view this but here is a brief breakdown of the starting borders:
* Flame border- For those who purchased the full game
* Beta border- For all who participated in the beta version
* Content border- For all content creators
* Dev borders- Self-explanatory



Last and most importantly. We have chosen a select few that we feel have gone above and beyond from the beginning. These 5 (and 3 of our personal old friends) will be receiving an exclusive avatar. These folks will be the only people on earth to ever have these.

One of the biggest concerns we've heard from players is that they wish they could play, but only have a mobile device. We've spent the last month implementing this new system so everyone can exercise their roasting abilities!
