Karnage Chronicles - Nordic Trolls
Lately we have secretly been working on a new game title. This time it’s a pure PC game as we need a little bit of a breather before developing another VR title.

It’s a cute and colorful co-op survival craft game with procedural maps, using Unreal 5s powerful nanite and lumen tech. We call it; Under a Rock.

Over the coming months we look forward to share much more about the game, and if time and capacity allows, we will also invite to closed beta testing before finally going early access.

Hi everyone! It finally happened, after a long time in Early Access we are now doing a full release of Karnage Chronicles. It has been quite a ride creating a VR Action RPG of the depth and size it turned out to be, much larger than originally planned, but so much more fun. Some things were cut along the way, some things were changed and others added, but the original vision remains which was bringing to life a dungeon crawler you can feel you are really inside, fighting for your life at every twist and turn, looting and killing, questing and playing together with friends in an adventuring party, or run it alone if you so prefer.



New in the Release version:

  • Added a shop to Eye of the Dwarves with new armors and weapons.
  • Scaled the difficulty of Eye of the Dwarves to reflect easy access to better gear.
  • Added hundreds of new items to random drops, most look the same, but their stats may vary. Together with this we are introducing tiered magical rings and necklaces. Will you be among the lucky few to get a legendary drop?
  • Added mining because it is fun to hit and break stuff.
  • Rebalanced all enemies and gear to better match the new item drops, and the final difficulty of Eye of the Dwarves.

Warrior Changes
  • Increased warrior base damage to compensate for archers having a higher base critical chance and higher sustained DPS with their bow.
  • Reduced price of warrior crossbows to make it more likely warriors will have good ranged gear.
  • Changed the metal shield for sale in the Imp's Shop to be an enchanted "Shield of Aggression" which will be highly beneficial for warriors taking on the role of tank in multiplayer.

Level 3 revamped into a brand-new handcrafted area with hours of gameplay, new monsters, and challenges. In this update you will leave the caves and spend more time under the open sky. It replaces the old level 3 which may return in a different form in the future.



This will also be the last content update before full release. We have been set back like so many others due to the challenging times we live in, but we managed to pull through in the end and deliver an experience we feel proud of. This has sadly affected our ability to add additional classes before full release, and though we would really have loved to introduce them, we simply do not know at the time of writing if or when this will happen. What we do know with certainty is that development of Karnage Chronicles continues after release.

What to expect:

What to expect:
  • Added option to set friendly fire on/off before hosting a multiplayer game. Default is on.
  • Added possibility to adjust teleport beam angle, it can be found under advanced options.
  • Added possibility to adjust smooth turning speed, it can be found under advanced options.

Other stuff:
  • Fixed some issues with aggro switching in multiplayer when current target is out of sight.

Same time as we are working on the next major content update we are also fixing old bugs and adding more polish, and whenever we have an opportunity to do so we will push these improvements to live.

What to expect:
  • Fixed all broken achievements.

Other stuff:
  • Fixed a bug that re-armed the portcullis trap in Wyvernscale each time the level was reloaded. From now on it should stay as solved until the level is manually reset with an effigy.

What to expect:
  • Dagger flipping is back. We will move it to options in a future patch.
  • Fixed an issue with Seven's dialog that could easily result in the Rabbit Foot not spawning and the dialog being broken, thus blocking further progress in the dungeon.

Other stuff:
  • Added an explanation about coins and gems being shared equally in multiplayer when collected. This can now be found on the multiplayer information board in your room.

What to expect:
  • Fixed issues with Seven's dialog that was preventing most players from completing the Golden Label quest. This means you can finally get rid of that bottle which have been stuck in your inventory…
  • Archer daggers can no longer be flipped. We have turned off this feature due to issues caused for new players entering into close combat. If popular demand deems it necessary to add back into the game we will make it a toggle in options, with default off.
  • Contains experimental code for HTC Vive Cosmos controller support. Feedback on our Steam forums would be greatly appreciated.

Other stuff:
  • Fixed a bug that made pots float in the air if held while cycling weapons.
  • Fixed a bug preventing Sticky Spike Balls from being thrown.
  • Monsters can no longer be chain dazed, the state will end correctly if hit again during its duration.
  • Monsters will now only be possible to daze if hit in the head with a melee weapon.
  • Projectiles will stick a little deeper in flesh.

What to expect:
  • Troll and Vulture Bear will no longer suddenly reset during the fight when someone dies in multiplayer. They will only reset on team wipe.
  • Keys will now respawn after a while, thus removing the issue where someone picks up a needed key in multiplayer and then leaves the game or goes AFK.
  • Redesigned the Controller Option pages to make them easier to use.
  • Added an option for changing belt height and distance.

Other stuff:
  • Fixed an issue where Host would hear the heartbeat sound of severely hurt Guest.
  • Added tiny controller vibrations to eating and drinking.
  • Additional optimizations for Lobby, Level 1 and Level 3.
