Steam Grand Prix 2019 Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited by law.

Eligibility: Entry open to any user holding a non-limited Steam account in good standing, with a Wishlist containing game titles that are currently available for purchase during the Steam Grand Prix 2019. Entrants may win more than once during the Steam Grand Prix 2019, but they must have enough titles in their Wishlist to cover awards for each win. The Steam Grand Prix 2019 will run twelve days, from 10 AM PDT June 25, 2019 to 9:59:59 AM PDT July 7, 2019. One (1) entry per user for each day of the Steam Grand Prix 2019, as described below. Multiple entries/multiple Steam accounts will be disqualified. Valve employees (including directors and officers) and their immediate families or affiliates are not eligible.

Daily Entry: As explained on the Steam Grand Prix 2019 FAQ, during the Steam Grand Prix 2019, each user can choose to join one (1) of five (5) teams. Users may not change teams. Users are able to change teams only upon receipt of a randomly awarded team change token. After a user joins a team, during each 24-hour period (each period starts at 10:00:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time and ends 9:59:59 AM PDT one day later), a user can earn distance points for their team. At the end of each 24-hour period, the team with the greatest number of distance points for that period will be deemed the first place team for that period, the team with the second greatest number of distance points for that period will be deemed the second place team for that period, and the team with the third greatest number of distance points for that period will be deemed the third place team for that period.

Daily Prizes: For each 24-hour period, three hundred users that contributed distance points to the first-place team will be randomly selected to receive the top game title ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that is currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded, two hundred users that contributed distance points to the second-place team will be randomly selected to receive the top game title ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that is currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded, and one hundred users that contributed distance points to the third-place team will be randomly selected to receive the top game title ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that is currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded. Drawings will be held within 48 hours from the end of each period.

End of Contest Prizes: The team with the most distance points for each 24-hour period will be awarded three Grand Prix points. The team with the second most distance points for each 24-hour period will be awarded two Grand Prix points. The team with the third most distance points for each 24-hour period will be awarded one Grand Prix point. At the end of the Steam Grand Prix 2019, the team with the most Grand Prix points will be declared the Grand Prix winning team, the team with the most second Grand Prix points will be declared the Grand Prix runner-up team, and the team with the third most Grand Prix points will be declared the Grand Prix honorable mention team. One thousand users that contributed distance points to the Grand Prix winning team will be randomly selected to receive the top three (3) game titles ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that are currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded, one thousand users that contributed distance points to the Grand Prix runner-up team will be randomly selected to receive the top two (2) game titles ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that are currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded, and one thousand users that contributed distance points to the Grand Prix honorable mention team will be randomly selected to receive the top game title ranked in their respective Steam Wishlists that is currently available for purchase at the time prizes are awarded. Drawings will be held within 48 hours from the end of the Steam Grand Prix 2019.

Alternate Entry: To manually enter the Steam Grand Prix 2019, each eligible entrant must print their name, address, city, state, country, postal code, email address, Steam account name, and telephone number, as well as the day of the Steam Grand Prix 2019 that the entry is for, on a self-addressed 4”x6” note card and mail the completed card to: Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688. Note cards mailed in envelopes will not be accepted prior to June 25, 2019. Note cards mailed in envelopes and postmarked between June 25, 2019 and July 8, 2019 will be accepted. No e-mailed or faxed alternate entries are eligible. Facsimiles, photocopies or mechanical reproductions of entries will be void. Alternate entries received after July 15, 2019 will not be eligible for any Steam Grand Prix 2019. Each user may submit one alternative entry per the day from June 25 to July 7; each day’s entry must be postmarked on that day or the following day. Proof of sending or submitting an alternate entry is not proof of receipt of such alternate entry. Alternative entrants do not need to have a non-limited Steam account, but they must have a Wishlist containing game titles that are currently available for purchase during the Steam Grand Prix 2019.

No later than August 9, 2019, Valve will hold a random alternative entry drawing for each 24-hour period, using the same odds as applied for the corresponding 24-hour period’s actual regular drawing (determined by the number of point-scoring users on that day’s top three teams). Valve will also hold a random alternative entry drawing for the end of contest prizes, using the same odds as applied for the end of contest regular drawing (determined by the number of point-scoring users on the top three teams for the Grand Prix). Valve will award prizes to each such alternative entry winner. Valve will contact each winner via email to the address registered to the winning account. The decision by Valve will be final and binding in all matters.

Prize value depends on games in Wishlist; Steam pricing during the Steam Grand Prix 2019 will determine game value. Prizes are not assignable or transferable. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and the number of members on the daily winning team. The winners are solely responsible for any taxes applicable to the prizes.

Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void. Valve is not responsible for misdirected, incomplete, lost, late, illegible, undelivered, inaccurate or delayed entries, or for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions or other errors or problems that may limit or affect a person’s ability to participate in the Steam Grand Prix 2019. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, terrorism or threats thereof, computer virus or other events or causes beyond the Valve’s control, which corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the Steam Grand Prix 2019, Valve reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend the Steam Grand Prix 2019. In the event of cancellation, Valve reserves the right to award prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the event requiring such cancellation. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible.

Release: By entering into this contest, each entrant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless Valve from any liability whatsoever, and waive any and all causes of action, related to any claims, costs, injuries, losses, taxes, expenses or damages of any kind, either at law or in equity, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with the Steam Grand Prix 2019, including the possession, use or inability to use any prize. If chosen as a winner, each entrant hereby consents to the use of his/her name, likeness, photograph in any and all media for promotional purposes in any manner by Valve, its designees and its advertising and promotion agencies without further compensation or notification, except where prohibited by law.

General: Valve shall not be liable for (i) lost, misdirected, damaged, illegible, incomplete, or late entries, (ii) any conditions beyond the control of Valve that may cause the contest to be disrupted, or (iii) any losses or damages of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from acceptance or use of any prizes awarded in this contest or for participation in this contest. No substitutions by the winners will be permitted, but Valve may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Valve reserves the right to amend these rules or to terminate the Steam Grand Prix 2019.
