Tricks And Treats

We can’t have Impostors running around naked when you can have perfect, one-bone chilling, costumes you could wear (but it is your choice). Jump into the in-game store to get:

We hear you like cosmetics. Admin doesn’t know (shhhh!), but we’ve shared some codes on TikTok so you can get your own Traffic Jam Hat in a special purple colorway!

To get one, watch your favorite creators’ Among Us content with the Among Us game detail page tagged. Visit the page to claim a unique reward code for the cosmetic.

If you’re a TikTok creator, you can also help us spread the bad bean agenda by posting Impostor content throughout the month with the Traffic Jam Hat. Make sure to tag @AmongUs too, so we can see all the chaos you wreak on your lobbies 😈

Once you’ve obtained your code you can redeem it in-game in the My Account menu to unlock the cosmetic*. Don’t share this! It’s a unique, one-time code for you.

New Ghost Crewmate Role: The Influencer! | Emergency Meeting #44

Ghosts, it’s time to get to work!

Update v19.0.0 is available right now on all platforms and introduces our new Ghost Crewmate role – the Influencer. Keeping reading for the full scoop.

Influential Beans

Ah, dang it! An Impostor killed you. If only you could tell someone about who killed you… Gasp. Wait!

Meet the Influencer, the newest Ghost to haunt the crew. Guardian Angels are no longer alone in their ghostly quest to help out living Crewmates! If you meet an unfortunate end, here’s what you need to do:

Message Ability: Choose up to 3 random images to send to a living Crewmate. Use these images to help them catch an Impostor, warn them when one is around, or clear any suspicions!
- Be careful! The images you pick might get misinterpreted and get another Crewmate ejected instead.
- Refreshes are limited, so give it your best shot to influence the outcome of the next meeting with the pictures you get.
- You can adjust the Influencer’s cooldown via the Settings menu in the Dropship.
Even though you’ve got more to do as a Ghost – remember to do your tasks!

This new role combined with the efforts of a Judge could spell victory… or a very untimely defeat. You get the picture – or, at least, you will when an Influencer sends you one! Once you get your hands on the role, remember to tell us what you think on social.

Read on for some more changes in this update.

We hope you love the Influencer as much as you loved the Judge. Speaking of which, we have a few tweaks to talk about for v19.0.0 It’s not too long so take a quick look so you can dive right in to the update.

Patch Notes

Duplicate login pop ups: We saw you reports and made some server changes to lower the frequency of these appearing.
Judge gavel smash SFX: Tweaked slightly! Don’t be alarmed.
New Redeem Reward button has been added to the My Account menu. We'll have more to share on this at a later date! Keep your visors peeled.

Behind the Beans: Judge

Guess what time it is Crewmates! It's time for us to go Behind the Beans and learn some backstory on our newest Crewmate role: Judge.

For this entry, I cornered invited our Game Designer, Dave, and Senior Gameplay Programmer, Jade, for a little Q&A session. Grab your gavel and get ready to Judge!

Dors: Thank you both for giving us some of your time to chat about our newest role entry: Judge! Before we dive in let's introduce you to our readers.

Dave: Hey Crewmates! I'm, Dave, the principal game designer on Among Us. I worked with the art, programming, and community teams to make sure our Judge was the judgiest role yet.

Jade: Hey gamers! I'm, Jade, one of the gameplay programmers on Among Us and I guess you could say I'm the Judge's creator (had the initial idea for the role).

⠀⠀Roughly how many roles was the Judge up against during development?

Jade: We’re constantly prototyping new roles (and trashing many of them) so it’s hard for me to give an exact number.

Dave: I believe, at one point, we had a pool of over 20 roles we've prototyped. We're constantly playtesting and iterating on these roles. So far, we've picked out 6 that we would be really happy to release. I'm really proud of our team for getting to this group of 6 because they're all really different. There's a good variety of Crewmates, Impostors, Crewmate Ghosts, and even an Impostor Ghost.

⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you assess if a role prototype is ready for the next stage?

Dave: We look at everything! First is the core question of "Is the role fun?". Before anything else, the answer to this needs to be a resounding "Yes!" Next, we take a look at other factors such as: does the role bring something new to the game? The Judge was moved to the next stage because they have an ability that's used in meetings.

Jade: Agreed - using our system we call “found the fun”, where we play all the roles we’re prototyping and tweak them until they feel fun, is crucial. If a role can be used to hard clear too easily, we either need to make changes to the ability or cut the role altogether.

Thinking on "finding the fun" and the huge pool of roles, are you able to tell

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ us about other meeting-based roles that weren't selected?

Jade: The Captain, who would have two votes, was simply not interesting enough and could be used to hard clear by saying “I’m going to put 2 votes on X.”

The Skip Stopper, who would have prevented players from voting to skip, again was not interesting enough and could be used to hard clear without any doubt. We have others in mind that haven’t been fully scrapped but generally roles gets dropped if there’s no way around using it as a hard clear.

Dave: On paper, the Captain was interesting as both a Crewmate role and an Impostor role. Through actual playtests, we found that the roles wasn't too fun. Whenever anyone had that role, they felt that it was just okay.

It's pretty powerful when the 2nd vote breaks a tie, but most of the time the votes didn't split that way. The reason why the Judge was able to shine was because their ability was so much more impactful. Instead of a small change like having a second vote, they were able to completely take over the meeting.

The high stakes, high rewards, made it exciting for everyone in the meeting. And the fact that it added that layer of suspense during an ejection was the cherry on top.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What were the hardest parts for both your respective fields?

Jade: The hardest part was definitely handling multiple Judges. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of logic in the backend (thanks Mik!) to determine whose ability should go through and when to refund an Overrule.

Dave: Balancing the role for everyone else in the match was probably the hardest part. The initial version of the Judge didn't wait for voting to end. As soon as the Judge used their ability, the meeting ended right then and there, and the verdict was carried out!

The reason this was changed was because it was very jarring and it was very anti-discussion. I think a good Crewmate meeting ability actually promotes discussion rather than stifling it.

⠀⠀⠀ What is the feeling you want players to have when they get the role?

Jade: “Oh nice, I’m the Judge in this round of the video game Among Us.” Just have fun out there!

Dave: That's a great question! I want players to feel a high level of responsibility. It's a lot of power to hold in one's hands. Their ability can be the deciding factor on if the Crewmates win or lose.

Dors: We'll see how Crewmates balance fun and their new authority. I hope you can be responsible, Crewmates! Thank you both for your time taking us Behind the Beans with the Judge!

New Crewmate Role: The Judge! | Emergency Meeting #43

Update v18.0.0 is here which means it’s time for a brand new Crewmate role that’ll shake up your next meeting! Read on to get all judge-y and see what else is in the update.

We Listen And We Don’t Judge

We’ve all wanted to have that final say in an Emergency Meeting – especially when you can’t trust anyone’s alibi. Votes aren’t in your favor? Convinced you know who it is? This is the perfect moment for the Judge:

Use your new Overrule ability to eject a Crewmate of your choice. It doesn’t matter if everyone else skipped voting or chose a different Crewmate.

Be careful! If you use your Overrule ability on someone who doesn’t turn out to be the Impostor, YOU’RE the one who gets ejected.
Complete tasks quickly to unlock the ability. Better make sure it’s ready for the next Emergency Meeting!
- You can change the amount of tasks needed to activate the ability in the Role Settings on the Dropship.
This is a powerful ability, so use it wisely. Overrule can only be used once per game!
What happens if there's more than one Judge in a game and they use Overrule at the same time? Good question! In this case, the Judge who used their ability first gets it. All other Judges will be "refunded" and get to use their Overrule in another Emergency Meeting.

Along with the arrival of the Judge we have a couple quality of life updates for you:

We added a new Match Info Guide so you can check the players, roles, and settings chosen for the game. Maybe this will help you find the lie in someone’s alibi?

The Detective’s Interrogate ability now has a cooldown after Emergency Meetings. Giving suspects a little time to escape the super sleuths will add a bit more tension and balance the Detective.

Our second piece of art is from Rover on Twitter. They happen to be another Purple enjoyer (and who can blame them?). They did a wonderful job of taking the classic Crewmate shapes and styling them in a new way. I’m a big fan of how Chef looks.

This next piece from hypernov4 on Twitter is really giving that brooding investigative vibe. There's nothing like a Guard in the rain. I can hear the saxophones already.

2026 Roadmap 🚀 | Part 2

Gather round, Crewmates!

I know some of you have been wondering, whispering even… “Where’s part 2 of the Roadmap?” Well, WONDER NO MORE! Our first half was full of some of THE BIGGEST NEWS with the release of the Among Us Show and the announcement of our brand new narrative game, Among Us Story: On Guard.

Let’s take a look at what’s in store for the rest of the year.

Roles

You love them. We love them. So we’re making more of them. They always bring some fresh chaos to lobbies. That’s why we have two new roles planned, with one of them arriving just next month. I was advised by my attorney to say nothing more.

We’ve been doing A LOT of testing on these roles to make sure they don’t feel overpowered and play nicely with the existing roles in a way that feels fun and fresh. It’s sorta like coffee – some like a bold and dark roast with no cream, and others (like me) enjoy a shot with sweetened milk. We want to try and introduce roles across the spectrum of player styles.

We hope you enjoy what we’ve been brewing!

Quality Of Life

As we add more roles, your games can get a little more complicated. Trying to remember your settings, the number of roles and their percentages can get a bit difficult. That’s why we’re adding a Match Info Guide. This should make it easier to keep track of how you or your lobby host have set up the game. We plan on adding this along with our new role next month!

New Cosmicubes

Fashion is just as important as finishing tasks… dare I say even more important (don’t tell Admin I said that). That’s why the art team is busy designing some hot new looks for the next time you want to look fly in the Dropship.

We love cooking up new themes, so don’t hesitate to throw ideas at us (I see you Crewmates asking for Indie Cube 2 and Ace Attorney, but no promises) so you can throw Beans or Stars towards some fresh drip.

Collabs

We have friends everywhere. And we LOVE a good collab. We started off strong this year with some new and returning collabs. But why stop there?

You’re going to be in for a treat as we’re not quite done with collabs for the year – keep those visors peeled. And just like with Cosmicubes, keep telling us who you’d like us to collab with next.

Among Us Story: On Guard

Since our reveal and demo time we’ve heard your cries to get the game out. We’ve seen your fantastic fan art. We’ve also seen you thirsting over the beans (looking at you, dating sim wanters).

The team is working hard to make sure everything is set up the MIRA HQ way for your trip into the simulator, so hang tight! We’ll have you proving your innocence finding the true Impostor in no time.

Wooooooooo, that’s what we got for Part 2 of our 2026 roadmap! We started the year with some excitement and if all goes to plan, there’s a bunch more coming your way.

Admin Is Out For Summer Break!

Holy moly, Crewmates!

It’s been really awesome seeing all your excitement for the announcement of our new game Among Us Story: On Guard and the drop of our Among Us Show.

If you haven’t seen the show yet, you can stop reading and go watch the entire series on Paramount+! But here’s a treat – the first episode is on YouTube for free! I’ll just leave it right here for ya so you don’t have to go far.

We hope you’re loving the show decorations around The Skeld along with the Showbiz Cosmicube cosmetics (my favs are Purple, Orange, and Red). Among Us – Depreciation of 2024 Versions

Hello, Crewmates!

As of today, we will no longer be supporting any 2024 versions of Among Us. If you see “v2024” on the bottom left of the main menu, you will be affected. Please update your game to v17.4.0 as soon as possible so you can keep making MIRA HQ proud by doing tasks!

Among Us is still expanding with features, roles, bug updates, improved security, etc. and getting Crewmates on similar versions helps with that development.

Thanks for understanding and sticking with us no matter which version you’ve been playing on.

Story Time

Guess who’s working on a brand new game! WE ARE! Innersloth is happy to present our new narrative adventure, Among Us Story: On Guard.

As a part of MIRA R&D you’ll be stepping into our new Crewmate training program as The Guard. In this story game, there are tasks that need doing, secrets that need revealing, and new Crewmates to learn about. There’s probably no murder to worry about. That would be against company policy. Don’t worry, we’ll cover the rest once you’re on the job.

You’ll be able to get hands on with the game with a demo releasing on Among Us’s 8th birthday, June 15th 2026!

And if you like the sound of that, we have just the thing to keep you grooving when the demo drops! You can listen to the the original soundtrack starting on the 15th too!

For now, wishlist the game on Steam while you wait for the demo.

Showbiz Cosmicube

Once you’ve watched the show enough to memorize all the lines, why not pop into Among Us and continue all the mischief?
