Hello Miners,

Time to dust off your ghosts and carve your pumpkins, because Hoxxes Halloween is back and ready to rock (and stone) your socks off!

The spooky season launches Thursday 22nd October at 13:00 CET and runs until November 5th. Flying skulls, Double XP bonuses and a haunted Space Rig are just around the corner. We are of course also adding another very scary hat to your arsenal of hats.

Let’s take a look at what to expect.

Hat’s in the Bag

Life sometimes needs a little mystery. And this new spooky hat will have your fellow miners wondering what you’re hiding: Is it a huge mole? Are you a Glyphid in disguise? Could your face be even more frightening than a scarecrow? Sometimes, nobody cares who you are until you put on the mask.

Get the Straw Boss headgear by completing the special assignment before the ghosts fade away!

The Scares of Yesteryears

Are you new to DRG? Or were you stuck carving out pumpkins with dull blades the previous Halloweens? Either way, here’s your chance to claim the haunting headgear hauls from all previous Hoxxes Halloween events. All you have to do is complete the Last Year’s Horrors assignment before November 5th.

Skulls are back!

This time around, R+D are investigating the patterns of the flying skulls appearing in the mines of Hoxxes. Could it be random? Probably not. Could it have something to do with Halloween? Probably.

But all research needs rigorous testing, so management is sending you back to hunt the skulls. Once again, you will be rewarded Double Performance Point Bonus if you bring back a skull.

Haunted Hub

Management has ordered the pumpkins and ghosts to be dusted off and put up around the Space Rig. This will surely set the vibe for upcoming missions…

Season 07 confirmed — PLUS Season 08 and an Expansion DLC

Hello Miners,

We just announced on The Big Break Showcase that Season 07, Season 08, AND a new Expansion DLC are officially confirmed for Deep Rock Galactic. It’s been a long time in the making, and it means loads of new content coming to Deep Rock Galactic within the next year.

We’ll get right into the details of all this right down below.

SEASON 07: “CONTINGENCY PROTOCOL”

SITUATION BRIEFING: APPROVED FOR GENERAL CIRCULATION The Company can confirm a recent surge of gravitational anomalies in and around Hoxxes IV, where geomagnetic poles seem to reverse within a concentrated area. Available data suggests this phenomenon may be linked to a recent spate of fatal Drop Pod crashes. Management has enacted a CONTINGENCY PROTOCOL to investigate the cause of these regrettable incidents, and to prepare our operations in case the situation worsens. All active mining crews will be sent to Drop Pod crash sites to conduct forensic analysis. Furthermore, R&D is recieving a significant budget increase to issue new defensive technologies for our workforce. If this situation continues to threaten our operations, we must be ready.

Season 07 is on its way. We're aiming for a release date somewhere in December 2026.

It's turning out to be quite substantial, with a special focus on some of the most popular fan-requested features and additions. Down below, you’ll find some major-headline features of the season. You can expect more details as we get closer to release.

Obligatory WIP disclaimer: Everything shown down and described below is a work in progress, and may be subject to change.

NEW OVERCLOCKS

Season 07 will be introducing about 20 new Overclocks in total. This time around, everybody’s secondary weapons are getting some love. You can look forward to new OCs like Neurotoxin Minelets, Dragonfire Shells, Dismantler Rounds, and plenty more.

REVISED PERK SYSTEM

The time has come. We’re revisiting the Perk System with two main goals in mind: Adding new perks to expand the pool, and solving the issue with longtime players amassing a huge pile of unspent perk points.

Here are the main changes:

11 new perks have been added.
Some old perks have been reworked.
Addition of a new “Perk Maintenance” system, which will function similar to the existing Weapon Maintenance system.
Once all perks are unlocked, you'll be able to unlock "Perk Proficiency" slots, which lets players dump excess points into them to grant very small baseline stat buffs.

TATTOO COSMETICS

The idea for a tattoo system in DRG goes back years, but now it’s time for the crew to get properly inked up. To enable that, Season 07 sees the introduction of the Kadoc Inker to the caves of Hoxxes.

These reclusive creatures may have crawled out of the deep end of the Ossuary Depths, but we’re not sure. In any case, the Inker is passive and conflict-shy, and can camouflage itself to blend in with its surroundings. Management wants you to find them and harvest their ink sacs for use in industrial pigments. But rumor has it that you can also use the ink for some unsanctioned tattoos.

TRAVERSAL TOOL PAINTJOBS

Fulfilling another longtime fan request, Season 07 will introduce the option to trick out your traversal tools — either to match your outfit, or for another look altogether. This new cosmetic system will likely tie into the Performance Pass, as well as a new "perk maintenance system" that rewards players for exploring different perk builds.

NEW SEASON EVENT

The recent gravitational anomalies have been messing with Drop Pod navigational systems, leading to a series of unfortunate crashes. We’re sending you to the crash sites to retrieve the onboard Memory Cores for further analysis. Heads up — gravity may still be a bit wonky there.

NEW PERFORMANCE PASS

As always, Season 07 brings an entirely new, completely free set of unlockable goodies to collect as you progress through the season’s challenges. Below is a first look at Season 07’s signature weapon framework: Ironclad Tactical.

These are the major headlines for Season 07! As always, you can expect a lot of smaller stuff like QoL tweaks and bugfixes on top of all this. We’ll have more to share in the weeks and months leading up to launch.

SEASON 08 + EXPANSION DLC

In summer 2027, we’ll be releasing Season 08 at the same time as an extensive gameplay expansion DLC.

Season 08, like every other season before it, will be completely free. The expansion DLC will cost real-life money. We know this is a first for us — and don’t worry, we’ll still keep doing free content updates too. But doing a big paid expansion allows us to be way more ambitious with the content we’re adding, and it’s the most direct way to support our work.

Season 08 will likely be one of the smaller ones, but it'll still have the essentials. We want to build on the story we set up in Season 07, and make sure everybody still gets some cool free stuff to go along with the Expansion.

It’s too early for us to share more details right now, as lots is still up in the air. Besides, we’ve gotta do Season 07 first. We put our pants on one leg at a time like everyone else. So we’ll focus on S07 for now, and then we’ll have more to say about Season 08 and The Expansion™ after that.

DRG UNIVERSE: THE YEAR AHEAD

There’s a lot planned for Deep Rock Galactic in this coming year — not only this game, but the extended DRG universe as well.

Big news for Deep Rock Galactic coming in The Big Break Showcase

Hello Miners,

Awfully quiet around here. Been a while since we’ve had some Deep Rock Galactic announcements.

Time to do something about that.

We’ll be part of Coffee Stain Publishing’s Big Break Showcase later this month, with some exciting stuff to share about good ol’ DRG. What stuff? We can’t say yet. That’s the whole point of the showcase. But what we can say is it will make you smile. Hell, you might even clap your hands with joy. Only time will tell.

Deep Rock Galactic is joining loads of other cool games for The Big Break, which is set to be a relentless bombardment of new trailers, game announcements and updates. They even let us send one of our guys to host it.

The Big Break will premiere on Coffee Stain’s YouTube page on Tuesday, September 29th at 19:00 CEST / 1:00 PM EDT.

We hope you’ll tune in to catch it live! But if you can’t make it for the premiere, a recording of the whole thing will of course be available afterward on YouTube.

Rocktoberfest 2026 - Preview

Hello Miners,

We’re happy to announce that Rocktoberfest is back! The celebration kicks off on Thursday, September 24th at 13.00 CEST and runs for two weeks.

Grab a pretzel, dust off the ol’ beer stein, and have a look at what delights await you.

New celebratory headgear

Beer should be loved in all shapes and colors and this year’s new hat celebrates exactly that. While Management wasn’t thrilled about this hat enabling the dwarves’ drinking habits, they had to admit that the hat design leaves both hands free to work. That’s optimal design. And Management can’t say no to that.

Complete this year’s Rocktoberfest Assignment to get your fingers on the new Freihand Tap Cap.

Lederhosen For All

When discussing dwarven fashion, everybody knows that Lederhosen is in a category of its own. And it has come to our attention that there are dwarves out there who are yet to acquire a pair. For this reason, any employee currently missing their own pair of Lederhosen can once again complete the “Hunt for Lederhosen” Assignment in order to fill that gap.

Old Hats

Another excellent reason to complete that same “Hunt for Lederhosen” assignment is that it will also reward you with the previous years’ Rocktoberfest hats in case you’ve missed out on those. Wouldn’t want anyone to be left out during Rocktoberfest.

Looks Like Meat Beer’s Back on the Menu

Circling back to the topic of optimization: Data from previous years has shown a significant increase in time spent in the mines during Rocktoberfest. After a lengthy and expensive analysis, R&D has concluded that this uptick in production can be accredited to the nourishing power of Best Wurst Beer, which offers a delicious lager and a nutritious sausage in the same frosty mug. Hoping for similar results this year, we are glad to report that Best Wurst Beer will once again be on tap during Rocktoberfest.

Double XP

Management learned last year that collecting and reusing Best Wurst Beer mugs found in the caves was a cost-friendly alternative to restocking on new mugs. Of course, none of them wants to get their hands dirty digging up those old mugs. So we’re going to have you do it. Dig up and deposit a Wurst Stein mug during your mission, and you and your team will receive Double XP for the mission in recognition of your hard work.

Fall has Fallen in the Space Rig

As is tradition, the Abyss Bar is once again dressed up in the colors of the season. Checkered tablecloths, novelty pretzels, meaty beer, everything! The stage is set for two enjoyable weeks where we celebrate the liquid that we all love. We hope you will celebrate responsibly.

It is time to don those sunglasses because the lanterns are shining and the party has started. Management considered temporarily shutting down the air-conditioning units to set the stage for this one, but then remembered they had never installed any.

We hope you will enjoy the next two weeks of the traditional Space Beach Party.

In case you missed the preview, you can hunt for another batch of lost floaties in the mines to earn a Double Performance Pass Point Bonus. Complete this year's work assignment to get your hands on the new Tactical Turtle hat in the Mission Terminal. Space Beach Party 2026 - Preview

Hello Miners,

Those of you who are fresh back from the Magma Core might not notice, but summer is here, and it brought the heat. It also means the annual Space Beach Party is just around the corner! So we’re here to take a quick peek at what’s coming.

This year’s event starts on Thursday, August 6th at 13.00 CEST and runs for two weeks.

Because one can never have too many inflatables

Why get extra vacation days for your hard work when you can get hats, you ask? We hear you. That’s why you can get your hands on the new Tactical Turtle hat by completing the assignment associated with this year's Space Beach Party from the Mission Terminal. Nicknamed Shelly the Shellmet, we’re sure this sturdy companion will help protect you from Glyphid bites.

Season event and Double XP

While DRG manages to pull off year-after-year performance improvements, the same cannot be said about certain other companies. In a show of unfounded trust, DRG has once again tasked Longbeard Freight with providing you with some well-deserved pool floaties. Unfortunately, the unthinkable has happened. They fumbled the load.

Somehow, the trajectory of this year’s delivery of pool floaties missed the docking entrance and bounced onwards towards Hoxxes. If you want your floaties, you’ll have to go get them yourselves. Longbeard Freight blames the recently-attached Resinite Mass containers blocking the entrance to the Space Rig’s loading dock. DRG blames Longbeard Freight for inebriated pilots. Both parties signed an agreement, agreeing to disagree on the matter.

Locate the lost pool floaties and make sure to deposit them while down there. As a sign of gratitude, Management will reward you and your team with a Double Performance Pass Point Bonus.

Hats have no expiration date

For those of you too busy mining Morkite to fly more kites during our previous years’ celebrations, fret not. Management applauds your focus and drive as long as it remains profitable. Complete one work assignment, and you will be rewarded with all the previous Beach Party hats for your collection.

Bringing the vibes so that you don’t have to

No party without decorations. Directly imported from Sandblasted Corridors, Management is thrilled to showcase a cost-friendly alternative to sunny beaches on the Space Rig. Colorful lanterns, fake palms, and beach inflatables have been dusted off and can once again be found in the Space Rig, all there to give you a nice feeling of vacation while being at work.

Special Event: Do your part to support Operation Rogue Core!

Hello Miners,

We’ve got a critical situation on our hands.

An enormous electromagnetic pulse has just erupted at the core of Hoxxes IV, sending ripples throughout the entire planet. It’s brought all our deep-level Expenite extraction operations offline — we’ve lost contact entirely. If that wasn’t bad enough, we’re seeing a spike in Core Stone encounters, and the lethal Core Spawn that come with them. Emergency Action Protocol ‘Minefall’ is in effect.

It’s time for Operation ROGUE CORE. Management has dispatched an elite squad of Reclaimers to the depths of Hoxxes to breach and secure the mine sites that have gone offline. But while the Reclaimers are deployed near the core, we need your help to ensure your own work sites stay operational.

Management is seeking volunteers to assist in the new ‘Reclaimer Collaboration Initiative,’ where mining crews help support our brave Reclaimers in mitigating this crisis.

This is more than a matter of life and death. Company profits are at stake here.

Exclusive Assignment: ‘Operation ROGUE CORE’

This is a time-limited special event in celebration of the Early Access launch of Rogue Core. It will be live in Deep Rock Galactic starting on Wednesday, May 6th and it will run for a whole two months, ending on Thursday, July 9th.

THE ASSIGNMENT: Four missions. In each one, you must close Core Rifts to prevent further disruptions in the cave system. These missions will be flagged with the new ‘Core Corruption’ warning, meaning you can expect to encounter increased Core Spawn resistance, even if you don’t come across a Core Stone.

THE REWARD: Completing this entire assignment will unlock all the components for the standard-issue Reclaimer Combat Pickaxe. Some steps of the assignment will reward more than one component. You can mix and match these pickaxe parts with all the rest, of course — or run the complete set to honor our brave Reclaimers deployed further down.

Like we mentioned above, this event is one of our few time-limited assignments — so you'll need to complete it by the time the event ends to snag the striking combat axe of the Company’s finest!

Even though Rogue Core is only planned for PC Early Access at the moment, this special event will be available on console versions of Deep Rock Galactic as well. It'll go live up to two weeks later, pending console-specific certification processes.

ROGUE CORE: Launching to Early Access on May 20th

A lot of you have been following Rogue Core’s development for a while, and the release date is almost here — it’s launching to Early Access here on Steam in just two weeks!

If you're just hearing about Rogue Core now, here's what you need to know:

It's a spinoff of Deep Rock Galactic. We've expanded the world of DRG into the perspective of the Reclaimers, the Company's elite in-house security force. You'll be able to play as five all-new classes, each with their own special skills and fancy gadgets.
It's faster-paced and more intense. You'll need to stay on your toes and keep your head on a swivel. Combat is more frequent and the game is tougher — but failing a mission isn't quite the setback as it is in DRG.
It's a co-op roguelike. Rogue Core explores DRG's 1-4 player co-op gameplay in a roguelike format: this means you'll gather a new set of weapons and upgrades each mission, snowballing into powerful builds and elemental synergies.

Rogue Core takes place in the same world and timeline as Deep Rock Galactic, but deeper down near the core of Hoxxes IV. You’ll step into the boots of the elite Reclaimers, and fight your way through hordes of Core Spawn abominations in fast-paced special ops missions to secure infested mining facilities.

We're pleased to announce The Great Egg Hunt 2026 is now live in Deep Rock Galactic!
The event will run until April 14, at 13.00 CEST, where the colleggtion of pastel-colored content hops back into the void of not-currently-active seasonal events.
