Buzzinator

Every 6 attacks (10 for ranged), this fighter spawns a Buzz. Also, +7% attack speed.

Gold gained when wave 12 spawns → when wave 11 ends

This better differentiates Prosperity from Venture.

Sniper

Attack speed bonus: 45% → 50%

Low win rate.

Sorcerer

Mana regeneration decreased by 2%

Slightly high pick rate and win rate.

Vampire

Lifesteal and spell vamp: 30% → 32%

Low win rate.

Wolverine

Regeneration increased by 5%

Upgrade Regeneration increased by 9%

King buffs and Swarm nerf will make the early game meta in high MMR less starvey. Nothing too drastic, since marginal changes can meaningfully shift optimal play.

Fighters

Fighter balance changes are light this patch because Swarm’s dominance is warping the meta and skewing data.

Kingpin

HP decreased by 1%
Base damage decreased by 2%

High win rate.

Honeyflower / Deathcap

Attack speed increased by 2%

Low pick rate and win rate.

Crab Warlock / Crabomancer

Summoner damage increased by 2%

Low pick rate and win rate.

Tips against Crab Warlock / Crabomancer builds:

Send Pack Leader and other DPS mercs: Brute, Imps, Ogre, Witch, or Centaur, depending on the rest of their frontline
Generally avoid tank mercenaries, Hermit, Safety Mole, Four Eyes, Mimic, and Needler
Send on impact and magic waves, notably waves 10, 13, 14, 16, and 20
When in doubt, save mythium for one wave longer. It’s important to overwhelm them with a big send and not let the Crab Warlocks hit critical mass

Increase Guild Wars time by 6 hours (now Saturdays 1am to 9pm PST)
Enabled Halloween map for this patch
Added an "Auto double down" checkmark in the main menu

Fixed wave 1 pathing inconsistencies
Fixed PvE mistakenly granting too much income when it does king upgrades

The upcoming September Nova Cup takes place September 26 - 27.

There are up to five skill divisions, so no matter what your rating is, you have a chance to win.
Participation prize: Every participant who plays all of their matches will receive a FREE random card. If you haven't played a tournament yet, this is a great time to join.

Requirements

- Everyone that is level 3 or higher can join for free! First come, first served. So even if you recently joined the game, feel free to participate!

Twitch Drops

When you watch Nova Cups on the official channel, aside from enjoying shoutcasted top-tier Legion gameplay, you'll also receive in-game rewards based on how long you watch!

Watch the official Legion TD 2 Twitch stream during a Nova Cup to earn the following rewards:
- Watch for 60 minutes: 2,000 essence
- Watch for an additional 60 minutes: 4,000 additional essence
- Watch for an additional 90 minutes: Random card

Team Sign-up Instructions

Sign-ups are open from NOW until September 26 6pm CEST.
To sign up, find a teammate and form a party. After you're both in the party, have one player type "/signup [team name]" (e.g. /signup Snail Kings) in chat. You should see a confirmation message that your sign-up went through.
{LINK REMOVED}View the team list to see your sign-up, and division once they are assigned after the check-ins are concluded.
Both players must join the Legion TD 2 Official Tournament Discord. Make sure to set your server nickname to match your in-game name.

Solo Sign-ups

You may sign-up as a solo with a suggested team name using the "/signup [team name]" command. Solo teams will be added to the Public Teams list, then be formed into teams on the day of the tournament. Solo teams will be randomly assigned a team name from either of its members.
If you sign up as a solo, but then you find a teammate, you can re-sign up as a team any time before check-ins start. Just use the /signup command again with the new teammate. The tournament organizer will void your old solo signup after they process your new team signup.
After check-ins are over, all checked-in solo players will be randomly formed into teams by the tournament organizer. You cannot request a specific teammate at this point; if you want to play with a specific person, you should have signed up as a team instead.

It is still strongly recommended to sign-up as a team to guarantee your spot in the tournament and to give you time to practice with your teammate beforehand.

The last hotfix got Scrapper into a much more balanced spot, but it’s still slightly on the strong side.

Shepherd

Sheep health increased by 6%

Low pick rate. Shepherd is a creative, high skill-cap mastermind, but its lack of popularity even in high MMR suggests it needs a buff.

King

King

Upgrade Regeneration increased by 22%

Early game king damage was too impactful and sticky. We like keeping the king relatively vulnerable, so that all-in plays are viable, but it’s now easier to recover by upgrading regen. This rewards more risk taking, aggressive workering, and pro leaks in the early game.

Fighters

Green Devil

HP decreased by 3%

High pick rate and slightly high win rate.

Daphne

Damage increased by 3%

Slightly low pick rate and win rate.

Rift Trader

Portal of Trash: Now cycles randomly without replacement among each of the 4 options (like a deck of cards). Once the cycle has completed, it refreshes.

Rift Baron

Anvil: Stun duration increased slightly in the mid and late game (decay changed from -60% → -50%)

These changes make it more viable to build multiple Rift Barons, since they’ll no longer all simultaneously overkill and stun the same target.

This makes Wind Up less coin-flippy, less OP on certain waves, more versatile (shifts power budget from splash to attack speed), and more visible.

Priestess of the Abyss / Azeria

Slightly high pick rate and win rate. One of the strongest openings in the game.

Ocean Templar

HP increased by 13%

Low win rate. Substantial buff.

Doppelganger

HP increased by 1%
Base damage increased by 2%

Doppelganger can pop off with the right supportive fighters, but on average, it underperforms.

Fenix

HP and damage decreased by 1.5%

Slightly high win rate.

Crawling Catapult / Wandering Trebuchet

Damage decreased by 1.5%

Slightly high win rate.

Soul Gate / Hell Gate

Summon HP increased by 2%

Wave 1: Crabs

If the battle phase lasts longer than 45 seconds, it will now fast forward at 2x speed (mythium generation still 1x).

It’s interesting when a battle happens to last a long time, since it influences the game state and causes chaos. However, it’s too easy to consistently force a long wave 1, in particular with Fire Archer + Bone Warriors. This change reduces frustration without nerfing the actual fighters.

Community Tournament: DonTony's Legion Circus

The Legion Circus is a special 2v2 community organized tournament taking place August 8–9, featuring an old-school format limited to the eight classic Legions. Compete for a €600 first-place prize and $400 in Premium Essence for the runner-up and semifinalists.

Makes one of your ranged fighters a Sniper, increasing attack speed by 40% for 10 seconds (after first attack) and permanently increasing attack range and ability range by 300.

Sign Up for the July Nova Cup!

The upcoming July Nova Cup takes place July 18 - 19.

$875 in prizes and sign-up is free - first come first served!
There are up to five skill divisions, so no matter what your rating is, you have a chance to win.
Participation prize: Every participant who plays all of their matches will receive a FREE random card. If you haven't played a tournament yet, this is a great time to join.

Requirements

- Everyone that is level 3 or higher can join for free! First come, first served. So even if you recently joined the game, feel free to participate!

Team Sign-up Instructions

Sign-ups are open from NOW until July 18 6pm CEST.
To sign up, find a teammate and form a party. After you're both in the party, have one player type "/signup [team name]" (e.g. /signup Snail Kings) in chat. You should see a confirmation message that your sign-up went through.
{LINK REMOVED}View the team list to see your sign-up, and division once they are assigned after the check-ins are concluded.
Both players must join the Legion TD 2 Official Tournament Discord. Make sure to set your server nickname to match your in-game name.

Solo Sign-ups

You may sign-up as a solo with a suggested team name using the "/signup [team name]" command. Solo teams will be added to the Public Teams list, then be formed into teams on the day of the tournament. Solo teams will be randomly assigned a team name from either of its members.
If you sign up as a solo, but then you find a teammate, you can re-sign up as a team any time before check-ins start. Just use the /signup command again with the new teammate. The tournament organizer will void your old solo signup after they process your new team signup.
After check-ins are over, all checked-in solo players will be randomly formed into teams by the tournament organizer. You cannot request a specific teammate at this point; if you want to play with a specific person, you should have signed up as a team instead.

It is still strongly recommended to sign-up as a team to guarantee your spot in the tournament and to give you time to practice with your teammate beforehand.

Check-in

Teams must check in via the Legion TD 2 Official Tournament Discord. Waitlisted teams should also check in.
Any team that fails to check in will be disqualified. The next team on the waitlist that checked in will earn a spot.

Game Format

The custom game room creator should enable Tournament Mode in the room. This will ensure the following settings:

2v2
Mastermind only
Hybrid disabled

Division 1 & 2 Only
- Conquest rules apply. (Once you win with a Mastermind playstyle, you and your ally can't use that playstyle again for that series)
