FARKLE: TAVERN DICE
END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and Pterosoft Studio ("we", "us"), for the video game Farkle: Tavern Dice, including its executable files, engine (Ptero-Engine), content, audio, music, artwork, text, localizations, updates and any related documentation (together, the "Game").
By installing, copying or playing the Game you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or play the Game. If you bought the Game and do not agree, you may be able to request a refund under the refund policy of the store where you bought it.
The Game is distributed through Steam. Your use of Steam and of your Steam account is
governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement between you and Valve Corporation. Where this Agreement and the Steam Subscriber Agreement conflict about the Game itself, this Agreement applies between you and us.
1. LICENSE
1.1 Subject to this Agreement, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive,
non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and play the Game, for your own non-commercial entertainment, on computers you own or control, through the Steam account that holds a valid license to the Game.
1.2 The Game is licensed, not sold. Except for the license in section 1.1, we and our
licensors keep all rights, title and interest in the Game, including all copyrights,
trademarks and other intellectual property rights. "Farkle: Tavern Dice", "Pterosoft Studio" and "Ptero-Engine" and their logos are our trademarks or names. The traditional dice game Farkle itself is not owned by us; this Agreement covers our implementation of it.
2. RESTRICTIONS
Except as expressly permitted by this Agreement or by applicable law that cannot be excluded by contract, you may not:
- (a) copy, sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, distribute, publicly perform or otherwise commercially exploit the Game or any part of it;
- (b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decrypt or otherwise try to obtain the source code of the Game, or extract, unpack or modify its packaged data files (including .ppak archives), except to the extent such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law (for example, for interoperability under the EU Software Directive);
- (c) remove, bypass or interfere with any copy protection, license check or Steam DRM in the Game;
- (d) create, use or distribute cheats, cracks, key generators or unauthorized modifications of the Game;
- (e) remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices in the Game;
- (f) use the Game, or any of its assets, to train, fine-tune or build any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model;
- (g) use the Game in any way that breaks applicable law.
Streaming and videos: you may stream the Game and publish videos and screenshots of your gameplay, including on monetized channels, as long as you do not suggest that we endorse you and you do not distribute the Game's files. We may withdraw this permission for specific content that we reasonably consider harmful to the Game or to us.
3. NO GAMBLING OR PRIZES
The Game is a dice game played for entertainment only. It does not offer, and cannot be used for, gambling with real money or anything of real-world value. Scores, wins, achievements and other in-game results have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for money, goods or services. You may not use the Game to organize or facilitate gambling.
4. UPDATES AND CHANGES
We may provide patches, updates and new content, which Steam may install automatically. Each update is part of the Game and is covered by this Agreement. We may change, add or remove features, but we will not take away the core features of the Game you paid for, except where required by law, for security reasons, or because a third-party service the Game relies on is no longer available.
5. DATA AND PRIVACY
5.1 The Game does not ask you for personal information and Pterosoft Studio does not collect personal data from the Game.
5.2 The Game stores your settings and game data locally on your computer (for example in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Ptero-Engine\Farkle). This data stays on your computer unless you share it.
5.3 The Game uses Steam to check that your account owns the Game and to provide Steam features such as achievements and the Steam overlay. Valve processes this data under its own privacy policy. Third-party technologies listed in section 7 run locally on your computer.
5.4 If you contact us (for example for support), we will use the information you send only to answer you.
6. HEALTH AND SAFETY
A small number of people may experience seizures when exposed to certain light patterns or flashing lights, including in video games. If you or anyone in your family has an epileptic condition, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience dizziness, altered vision, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, disorientation, involuntary movements or convulsions. Take regular breaks.
7. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
The Game includes software and technology licensed from third parties, including but not limited to: FMOD Studio by Firelight Technologies Pty Ltd.; Steamworks by Valve Corporation; NVIDIA DLSS, Streamline and NRD; AMD FidelityFX (including FSR); Intel XeSS; Microsoft DirectX Shader Compiler and Visual C++ runtime; Google Resonance Audio; libvpx, libwebm and Opus; RmlUi; libsodium; LZ4; and other open-source components. These components are subject to their own license terms, which are listed in the Game's credits and/or in the third-party notices that ship with the Game. Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under those licenses. Medieval music in the Game is used under license or is in the public domain, as noted in the credits.
8. TERMINATION
This Agreement remains in effect until terminated. It ends automatically if you materially
breach it and, where the breach can be fixed, do not fix it within a reasonable time after we tell you about it. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Game. When it ends, you must stop playing the Game and delete all copies in your possession. Sections 1.2, 2, 3 and 9 to 13 survive termination.
9. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE. Ray tracing, upscaling and frame-generation features require compatible graphics hardware and drivers and may not be available on every system.
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE GAME OR THIS AGREEMENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE GAME.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
11. CONSUMER RIGHTS
If you are a consumer, you may have rights under the laws of your country (including, in the European Union and the United Kingdom, statutory rights regarding digital content) that this Agreement cannot take away. Nothing in this Agreement affects those rights. Where any part of this Agreement is not allowed by the law that applies to you, that part does not apply to you.
12. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to its
conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard by the courts of the Czech Republic, unless the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts or to benefit from mandatory protections of your local law. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
13. GENERAL
This Agreement, together with any terms referred to in it, is the entire agreement between you and us about the Game. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that comes closest to its intent. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this Agreement; we may transfer it to a successor of our business, as long as your rights are not reduced. We may update this Agreement for future versions of the Game and will tell you about material changes through Steam or within the Game; if you do not agree to the changes, you may stop using the Game. This Agreement may be translated; if translations conflict, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
