STELLAR ASCENDANCY END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT
Effective Date: September 29, 2026
PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR USING STELLAR ASCENDANCY, YOU AGREE TO THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE GAME.
This Agreement is between you and Stellar Doctrine Games ("Stellar Doctrine Games," "we," "us," or "our") concerning Stellar Ascendancy, including its software, content, documentation, updates, and related services (collectively, the "Game"). If you obtain the Game through Steam or another platform, that platform's terms also apply. If those terms conflict with this Agreement, the platform terms control only as to your relationship with that platform.
1. LIMITED LICENSE
Subject to this Agreement and any applicable platform terms, Stellar Doctrine Games grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment on devices you own or control. The Game is licensed, not sold. No ownership interest in the Game or its intellectual property is transferred to you.
2. LICENSE RESTRICTIONS
Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:
* copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Game;
* reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, or attempt to derive the Game's source code;
* circumvent security, ownership verification, access controls, or technological protection measures;
* use cheats, automation, malicious code, exploits, or unauthorized tools that interfere with the Game or another player's experience;
* remove or alter copyright, trademark, attribution, or other proprietary notices; or
* use the Game or its assets in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
These restrictions do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be restricted in your jurisdiction.
3. OWNERSHIP
Stellar Doctrine Games and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Game, including its code, gameplay systems, names, characters, story, text, artwork, graphics, audio, music, interfaces, logos, trademarks, and other content. Third-party components remain the property of their respective owners and may be governed by separate notices or licenses.
4. BETA AND PRERELEASE SOFTWARE
Versions identified as alpha, beta, test, preview, early access, or prerelease software may be incomplete and may contain defects. Features, balance, system requirements, and content may change before release. Updates may alter or remove features and may make older saves, Mods, or configurations incompatible. You are responsible for keeping backups of important save files and user-created content. Nothing in this section excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. UPDATES AND AVAILABILITY
We may provide patches, updates, or other changes to the Game. Updates may be required for continued access to online or platform-dependent features. We do not promise that every feature, server, integration, or version will remain available indefinitely. Where required by law, this section is subject to your mandatory consumer rights.
6. MODS AND USER-CREATED CONTENT
The Game may permit you to create, install, use, share, upload, or distribute modifications and other user-created content (collectively, "Mods"). Mods are optional, unofficial content unless Stellar Doctrine Games expressly identifies a Mod as official.
You are solely responsible for every Mod you create, upload, publish, distribute, or use. By creating or distributing a Mod, you represent that you own its content or have obtained every permission, license, consent, and other right necessary to create and distribute it. You may not include copyrighted works, trademarks, logos, characters, names, music, artwork, software, likenesses, or other intellectual property belonging to another person or organization unless you are legally authorized to do so. Permission to create Mods for Stellar Ascendancy does not give you permission to use anyone else's intellectual property.
You retain ownership of original material you create for a Mod. Stellar Doctrine Games grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Game content only as reasonably necessary to create and share non-commercial Mods designed solely for use with Stellar Ascendancy. You may not sell, license for payment, or commercially exploit a Mod without our prior written permission. This limited permission does not cover third-party content included in the Game.
Mods may not contain malicious code; evade security or access controls; enable cheating in multiplayer; unlawfully collect data; impersonate Stellar Doctrine Games; suggest false sponsorship or endorsement; or contain unlawful content.
Stellar Doctrine Games does not review, certify, endorse, or guarantee third-party Mods and makes no representation about their legality, ownership, security, compatibility, quality, or continued availability. You install and use Mods at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stellar Doctrine Games is not responsible for claims, damage, data loss, incompatibility, security incidents, or other harm caused by creating, distributing, installing, or using Mods.
We may remove, disable, or restrict access to a Mod that we reasonably believe violates this Agreement, platform rules, applicable law, or another party's rights. We may cooperate with rights holders, platform operators, and lawful authorities as legally required. If we later host Mods directly, additional submission, moderation, and copyright-notice terms may apply.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stellar Doctrine Games and its personnel from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from a Mod you create or distribute, your violation of another party's rights, or your material breach of this section, but only to the extent permitted by applicable law. This obligation does not apply to claims caused by Stellar Doctrine Games' own unlawful conduct.
7. SAVES, SCREENSHOTS, STREAMING, AND FAN CONTENT
You may create personal backups of your save files. You may share screenshots and gameplay video, stream gameplay, and create non-commercial fan content, reviews, guides, and commentary, provided that you do not misrepresent them as official, disclose unlawfully obtained material, or use them in a way that violates law or another party's rights. This permission is revocable for material misuse and does not transfer ownership of Game content.
8. MULTIPLAYER AND CONDUCT
When using multiplayer or other connected features, you must not harass others, interfere with service operation, distribute malicious content, cheat, exploit defects to gain an unfair advantage, or use the Game for unlawful activity. We may restrict access to connected features when reasonably necessary to protect players, the Game, platform integrity, or legal rights.
9. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Game may interact with third-party platforms or services, including Steam. Those services are operated under their own terms and privacy practices. Stellar Doctrine Games is not responsible for a third party's services, outages, policies, or independent conduct. Your purchase, refund, account, and platform access rights may also be governed by the platform through which you obtained the Game.
10. TERMINATION
This Agreement remains effective until terminated. You may terminate it by ceasing use of and uninstalling the Game. Your license terminates if you materially breach this Agreement and fail to cure the breach where a cure is required by law. After termination, you must stop using the Game and delete copies under your control, except for files you are legally entitled to retain. Sections concerning ownership, responsibility for Mods, disclaimers, liability, and other provisions that by their nature should survive will remain effective.
11. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." STELLAR DOCTRINE GAMES DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR COMPATIBLE WITH EVERY DEVICE, MOD, OR CONFIGURATION.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, these exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted. Nothing in this Agreement limits mandatory warranties or consumer protections that apply to you.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STELLAR DOCTRINE GAMES AND ITS PERSONNEL WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOST SAVES, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL ARISING FROM THE GAME OR THIS AGREEMENT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STELLAR DOCTRINE GAMES' TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE GAME OR THIS AGREEMENT WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE GAME DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).
These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability that applicable law makes non-excludable.
13. GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If the law where you live gives you mandatory rights or permits you to bring a claim in your local courts, this section does not take those rights away. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
14. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT
We may update this Agreement to reflect changes to the Game, law, or our practices. When required, we will provide notice and request renewed acceptance. Changes do not retroactively remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be removed. The effective date above identifies the current version.
15. GENERAL TERMS
If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this Agreement except as permitted by law or with our written consent. This Agreement and applicable platform terms form the agreement governing your licensed use of the Game.
