# DOOD — End User License Agreement
Last updated: October 2, 2026
This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and [LEGAL NAME], operating under the developer name REN (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It governs your use of DOOD, including its software, updates, accompanying game content, and documentation (the “Game”).
By accepting this Agreement, you agree to its terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Game. Refund requests for purchases made through Steam are subject to Steam’s refund policy and any rights you have under applicable law.
If you are not legally able to enter into this Agreement independently, your parent or legal guardian must review and accept it on your behalf where required by applicable law.
## 1. License to Use the Game
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and play the Game for your personal, non-commercial enjoyment, subject to this Agreement and the applicable terms of the platform through which you obtained it. The permissions for monetized videos and livestreams in Section 5 are an exception to this non-commercial limitation.
The Game is licensed, not sold. This license does not transfer ownership of the Game or its intellectual property to you.
This Agreement does not prohibit use through sharing features expressly authorized by Steam or another authorized distribution platform.
## 2. Ownership
Except for your original contributions described in Section 4, the Game and its code, artwork, characters, videos, animations, music, sound effects, text, and other content are owned by us or our licensors, to the extent protected by applicable law.
Third-party software and materials included in the Game remain subject to their applicable licenses. Where a third-party license grants rights that differ from this Agreement, that license governs your use of the relevant material. Nothing in this Agreement restricts rights granted to you under applicable open-source licenses.
This Agreement does not create intellectual property rights in material that is not protected by applicable law.
## 3. Restrictions
Except where permitted by this Agreement, an applicable third-party license, or applicable law, you may not:
- Distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or make unauthorized copies of the Game.
- Extract and redistribute the Game’s artwork, videos, animations, music, sound effects, or other assets as standalone products or asset collections.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game, except to the extent applicable law permits such activity.
- Circumvent license verification or other access controls, except where permitted by law.
- Remove or misrepresent copyright notices, trademarks, or other ownership information.
- Use the Game or its sharing features to distribute unlawful content, malicious software, or material that infringes another person’s rights.
These restrictions do not prohibit ordinary gameplay, permitted creature sharing, or the creation of videos and screenshots as described below.
## 4. Player-Created Drawings and Creature Sharing
To the extent you hold intellectual property rights in original drawings or other original contributions you create using the Game, you retain those rights. We do not claim ownership of your original contributions merely because you created them in the Game.
You may use the Game’s supported genetic-code export and import features to share creatures with other players. When you voluntarily share a genetic code, you authorize recipients to import, reproduce, display, and modify your original contributions in the shared creature within the Game for personal, non-commercial use, and to include the creature in gameplay videos, livestreams, and screenshots permitted under Section 5.
Sharing a creature does not transfer ownership of your original contributions to us or to other players. It also does not transfer ownership of any underlying Game assets or third-party material.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to content you import or share. Do not include confidential information or personal information that you do not wish to disclose.
This Agreement does not grant us permission to use your original contributions in advertising or other promotional materials without separate permission.
## 5. Gameplay Videos, Streaming, and Screenshots
You may publish screenshots, gameplay recordings, reviews, guides, and livestreams featuring the Game, including its in-game cinematic sequences. You may monetize those works through advertising, sponsorships, subscriptions, or viewer donations.
This permission does not allow you to distribute the Game itself, sell its assets separately, or present your content as officially endorsed by us without permission.
This permission covers only rights we are authorized to grant. Material you add yourself, or third-party material subject to separate restrictions, may require additional permission.
## 6. Steam, Leaderboards, and Third-Party Services
Your use of Steam is governed separately by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and other applicable Valve terms. This Agreement does not replace or amend those terms.
Features that depend on Steam or other third-party services, including cloud synchronization, platform achievements, and leaderboards where available, may depend on your account settings, connectivity, and the availability of those services.
Participation in Steam leaderboards is optional. When you choose to submit your score through the Game, your in-game follower count is sent to Steam and associated with your Steam account. Your score, rank, and Steam profile name may be visible to other users through Steam’s leaderboard features.
This leaderboard submission does not include your drawings, creature images, or full save files. Cloud synchronization, if enabled, is a separate feature and may upload save files to Steam.
Declining to submit a leaderboard score does not prevent you from playing the Game. Deleting or resetting local save data does not necessarily remove a score previously submitted to Steam.
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of services operated by third parties.
## 7. Save Data and Updates
The Game may create and update local save data. Cloud synchronization, where available and enabled, is not a guarantee against data loss.
Updates, interrupted writes, synchronization conflicts, hardware failures, and other technical issues may affect save data. We recommend maintaining backups where practical.
We may provide updates to correct problems or improve the Game. Nothing in this Agreement excludes any obligation under applicable law to provide necessary updates or remedies for defective digital content.
## 8. Privacy
Our processing of personal data in connection with the Game is described in the DOOD Game Privacy Policy:
https://dood-game.com/dood/privacy/
Steam’s processing of your account information and platform data is governed by Valve’s privacy policy:
https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/
Accepting this Agreement does not constitute consent to optional personal data processing. Where separate consent is required, it must be requested separately.
For questions about personal data or requests concerning leaderboard information associated with your account, you may contact us using the details in Section 14. Requests will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the relevant service’s procedures.
## 9. Warranties and Consumer Rights
We do not promise that the Game will operate without interruption or be entirely free of errors.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, warranties not expressly provided in this Agreement are excluded. This exclusion does not apply to statutory guarantees, conformity requirements, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights to repair, replacement, a price reduction, a refund, or another remedy where those rights are provided by applicable law.
## 10. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when this Agreement was entered into, or for business losses arising from use of the Game under this personal-use license.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
## 11. Termination
You may end this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the Game and ceasing to use it.
We may terminate the license granted under this Agreement if you materially breach it. Where the breach can be remedied, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it before termination, unless immediate action is permitted or required by law.
Termination does not remove rights or remedies that you have under applicable law and does not itself terminate your Steam account.
## 12. Changes to This Agreement
If we propose material changes to this Agreement, we will clearly notify you through Steam or another appropriate channel and obtain renewed acceptance where required by applicable law.
Changes will not retroactively remove rights you have already acquired. Posting revised terms alone will not be treated as consent where the law requires express acceptance.
## 13. Applicable Law and Disputes
This Agreement is subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
Nothing in this Agreement requires you to waive access to courts or consumer dispute-resolution procedures available to you under applicable law.
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
