Publisher: 2 States Studio
Version: September 2026
IMPORTANT
Guess What's Behind! is a community game in which players can interact with one another, in particular through voice chat, imported images or content and, where these features are available, the Steam Workshop.
By accessing the multiplayer, voice, content sharing or Workshop features associated with the game, you agree to comply with these rules.
You are responsible for the content you import, publish or share and for the statements you make.
1. RESPECT FOR OTHER PLAYERS
Guess What's Behind! must remain a friendly and respectful place.
The following are prohibited, in particular:
- racist, antisemitic, xenophobic or discriminatory statements;
- insults or attacks aimed at a person or a group because of, in particular, their origin, skin colour, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or any other protected characteristic;
- calls to hatred, violence or discrimination;
- harassment, intimidation, threats and targeted humiliation;
- the glorification or promotion of ideologies or organisations advocating hatred or violence;
- denialist statements prohibited by applicable law;
- the unlawful denial, contesting or trivialisation of crimes against humanity, genocide or war crimes, under the conditions laid down by applicable law;
- the glorification of crimes against humanity or war crimes;
- the use of Nazi or extremist symbols or references for the purposes of hateful propaganda, intimidation or incitement to hatred;
- any behaviour intended to deliberately make another player's experience hostile or unsafe.
These rules also apply to voice chat.
The fact that a piece of content or a statement is presented as a joke, a provocation or humour does not automatically justify its use.
2. IMAGES, IMPORTED CONTENT AND STEAM WORKSHOP
You must not import, publish, transmit, display or share, within the game or through the Steam Workshop associated with Guess What's Behind!, any content that is:
- racist, antisemitic, xenophobic, hateful or discriminatory;
- denialist, where such content is prohibited by applicable law;
- inciting hatred, discrimination or violence;
- pornographic or sexually explicit;
- depicting, sexualising or sexually exploiting a minor;
- glorifying child sexual abuse or the sexual exploitation of children;
- extremely violent, gory or deliberately shocking;
- glorifying terrorism or terrorist organisations;
- a credible threat;
- intended to harass or intimidate a person;
- disclosing personal or confidential information without authorisation;
- containing malicious software or intended to compromise the game, Steam or another user's device;
- fraudulent or intended to deceive other users;
- manifestly unlawful;
- infringing copyright, trademarks, image rights, privacy or any other rights belonging to a third party.
You must only publish content that you are legally entitled to use and share.
Use of the Steam Workshop also requires compliance with the terms, community rules and rules of conduct established by Valve for Steam.
3. PROTECTION OF MINORS - ZERO TOLERANCE
The safety of minors is an absolute priority.
It is strictly prohibited:
- to publish, transmit or solicit sexual content involving a minor;
- to sexualise a minor, whether real or depicted;
- to ask a minor for photographs, videos or content of a sexual nature;
- to use the game in order to establish a sexual relationship with a minor or a relationship intended for their exploitation;
- to have sexually explicit conversations with a minor;
- to engage in sexual blackmail or any form of sextortion;
- to encourage a minor to take part in sexual, dangerous or illegal activity.
Content that may constitute child sexual abuse material is prohibited without exception.
Where the law requires it, the acts or content concerned may be reported or passed on to the competent authorities.
4. VOICE CHAT
It is prohibited to use voice chat in order to:
- utter discriminatory insults;
- make racist, antisemitic, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, unlawfully denialist or hateful statements;
- threaten, intimidate or harass another player;
- make inappropriate sexual remarks towards minors;
- encourage violence or illegal activities;
- disclose another person's personal information;
- deliberately broadcast sounds or statements intended to shock, harass or disrupt other players.
Each player remains responsible for their own statements and behaviour.
5. SANCTIONS APPLIED BY 2 STATES STUDIO
Any breach of these rules may lead to a moderation measure.
Depending on the nature, seriousness and repetition of the behaviour, 2 States Studio may in particular:
- issue a warning;
- delete, hide or make a piece of content inaccessible;
- remove content from the Workshop where the available tools allow it;
- limit or withdraw access to community features;
- limit or withdraw access to image sharing;
- limit or withdraw access to voice chat;
- temporarily suspend access to multiplayer services;
- temporarily exclude the user from the game's community services;
- issue a permanent ban from the online or community features of Guess What's Behind!, where this is technically and legally possible;
- send a report to Valve where the behaviour concerns Steam or the Steam Workshop;
- make the reports required to the competent authorities where a legal obligation requires it.
Particularly serious breaches may lead to an immediate sanction without prior warning, within the limits permitted by applicable law.
This may concern in particular:
- serious racist or antisemitic content and calls to hatred or violence;
- denialist statements or content prohibited by applicable law;
- the glorification of crimes against humanity or war crimes;
- prohibited pornographic or sexually explicit content;
- content involving the sexual exploitation of minors;
- credible threats of violence;
- terrorist content or content glorifying terrorism;
- any other manifestly unlawful content.
6. STEAM / VALVE AND STEAM WORKSHOP
Where Guess What's Behind! or its Steam Workshop is used through Steam, the user is also subject to the applicable Steam rules and agreements.
2 States Studio does not control the moderation decisions taken by Valve.
Independently of any sanction taken by 2 States Studio, Valve may take its own measures where a user or a piece of content breaches the rules applicable to Steam.
Depending on Valve's rules and decisions in force at the time of the events, those measures may in particular include:
- the restriction, hiding or removal of content or of a contribution from the Steam Workshop;
- restrictions on the use of Steam, of certain features or of associated services;
- measures concerning the Steam account or certain subscriptions, under the conditions laid down by Valve's agreements and rules.
A sanction taken by 2 States Studio does not prevent Valve from taking its own measures.
Conversely, a decision by Valve does not prevent 2 States Studio from applying the moderation measures set out in these rules where this is appropriate and permitted.
The same behaviour may therefore lead to a sanction by 2 States Studio, a measure taken by Valve, or both.
Decisions taken directly by Valve are governed by the applicable Steam terms and policies and are a matter for Valve.
7. REPORTING AND MODERATION
Players are encouraged to report any content or behaviour likely to breach these rules.
To report a player or a piece of content, write to: 2statesstudio.support@gmail.com
Please include the Steam name of the player or the Workshop item concerned, the date, and a short description of what happened.
A report does not automatically guarantee a sanction. The facts may be examined before an appropriate measure is taken.
Misuse of the reporting system, in particular deliberately false reports or reports intended to harass another user, may itself be subject to moderation measures.
8. USER RESPONSIBILITY
Each user is responsible for the content they create, import, publish or transmit and for the communications they send.
The user must hold the rights and authorisations required for the content they publish.
Content created by users does not necessarily represent the views of 2 States Studio.
Nothing in this charter is intended to exclude or limit any liability or obligation of 2 States Studio that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. CHANGES TO THE RULES
These rules may be updated in order to take account of changes to Guess What's Behind!, its features, the rules of the platforms used or applicable legal obligations.
Where a new acceptance is required, players may be asked to accept the updated version before continuing to use the features concerned.
10. MANDATORY ACCEPTANCE
By selecting "I ACCEPT", I confirm that:
- I have read and understood this charter;
- I agree to respect the other players;
- I agree to comply with the rules applicable to the Steam Workshop when I use it;
- I will not import or publish content that is illegal, hateful, racist, antisemitic, unlawfully denialist, pornographic, related to child sexual abuse or otherwise prohibited;
- I am responsible for the content I import, publish or share and for the communications I send;
- I understand that a breach may lead to the removal of content, a restriction, a suspension or a ban by 2 States Studio;
- I understand that Valve may also take, independently of 2 States Studio, the measures provided for by the rules and agreements applicable to Steam;
- I understand that behaviour or content likely to constitute an offence may be subject to the measures or reports provided for by applicable law.
