Drawaoke: Sing, Scribble, Showdown! Terms of Use
2P START ("we" or "us") sets out the following rules for playing Drawaoke: Sing, Scribble, Showdown! ("the game").
1. About these rules
The game is played on Steam. Steam's rules (Valve Corporation) also apply whenever you play the game.
These rules add game-specific rules on top of Steam's rules.
To play the game, you need to agree to these rules.
How personal information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy (https://drawaoke-privacy.pages.dev/en/).
2. Who you can play with, and what others can see
- You can play the game on your own (with bots = computer-controlled players) or with other people
- A room you make with "Create a room" is private at first. Only people who know the room code and friends you invite can get in
- When you make a room "Public", or when you use "Play with someone" (picking a room from the public list, "Rooms you can join", or using "Find me a room" to join a room that has space), you will be in the same room as people you do not know. If you want to play in a private room, please make a new room
- There is no voice chat. You can only interact through text and drawings
- People in the same room can see your display name, your drawings, your chat, your doodles, your emotes, and your game results. They can also save that screen as a video or show it on a stream
- You can change your display name in "Profile". If you do not change it, your Steam name is shown as is. If your Steam name uses your real name or a social media ID, it is safer to change it
3. Things you must not do
Please do not do any of the following, whether in chat, your display name, doodles, your drawings, or the answers you type.
- Writing or drawing hurtful words, threats, or discriminatory content
- Drawing pictures that scare people or make them feel bad when they see them (for example, sexual pictures, gory pictures, symbols of discrimination, or pictures that make fun of a specific person)
- Asking people you do not know for contact details (URLs, email addresses, phone numbers, social media IDs), or giving them yours
- Inviting people you do not know to places outside the game (other apps, social media, and so on)
- Writing personal information about yourself or others, such as real names, home addresses, or schools or workplaces
- Offering to trade money or items
- Impersonation (pretending to be another person, or pretending to be the game's developers or official staff)
It is fine for people who already know each other, such as friends, to share contact details or make plans to play somewhere else.
People who do not follow these rules may be removed from the room by the person who made it, or blocked by other players (Section 6).
4. Streaming, videos, and fan creations
Feel free to stream, upload videos, make clips, and make fan creations. You may also monetize them. You do not need to contact us in advance or ask for permission.
However, please do not do the following:
- Redistribute the game's own files (songs, artwork, the program itself)
- Sell things made with this game while passing them off as unrelated to it
- Distribute modified versions with the content swapped out
- Register the game's songs with YouTube's Content ID (the automatic music-matching system)
For more details, see "Streaming and reuse" in the game's Settings.
When you stream, you can also use "Streamer mode" in Settings. When it is on, the following happens on your screen, but only in public rooms:
- Other players' names are replaced with color names (Red, Blue, and so on)
- Other players' chat is hidden (answers in Guess Battle are still shown)
- Doodles start out hidden
Also, while Streamer mode is on, rooms marked "No streaming" (rooms where the person who made the room asked people not to stream) no longer appear in the list or in "Find me a room".
Even without Streamer mode, some words in chat and display names are shown on your screen replaced with "*" (Section 5).
The room code is hidden at first. It appears when you press it, so if you do not want it to show on screen, do not press it (you can still use "Copy" while it is hidden).
Drawings are not hidden, even in Streamer mode. Also, in private rooms (rooms you join with a room code), names and chat are shown as they are.
5. What the game does, and what it cannot do
The game automatically does the following:
- It removes invisible characters and characters that break the screen
- It does not allow names that claim to be the game's developers, official staff, or similar
- It replaces some words in chat and display names with "*" on the screen of the person who receives them (the screen of the person who wrote them stays as it is)
- If you try to send something in chat that looks like contact details, it tells you before sending (if you send it again, it is sent as it is)
On the other hand, chat, drawings, and other interactions do not pass through our servers, so we cannot see them, delete them afterward, or take action against a specific player. The automatic features above also cannot stop everything. To make up for this, we have made the options in Section 6 available on your screen.
Because of this, we cannot take responsibility for what other players write or draw, or for anything that happens in your interactions with other players (except for things we are responsible for, such as bugs in the game).
Once you have told other people your personal information, we cannot take it back for you. Please do not write personal information in chat or in your display name.
6. What you can do if you have trouble
- Block — Choose it from the "…" on a player's name tag. That player's chat, doodles, and emotes stop showing on your screen right away (you can still see their name and the drawings they make while playing). From then on, you will not end up in the same room as that player (no matter who made the room, whoever tries to join later cannot get in). They are not notified. You can undo it any time in Settings
- Remove from room (only the person who made the room) — Choose it from the "…" on a player's name tag. A removed player can come back in, so if you do not want them to come in, block them as well
- Leave the room — Blocking a player does not make them leave the room you are in now. If someone you do not want to play with is in the room, it is fine to just leave
- Play in a private room — If you make a new room, you can play with only people who know the room code and friends you invite

For important changes, we will also list what changed.
