Aira / Meeting the World
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 26 September 2026
Developer and publisher: wmdm
Privacy contact: wmdm314@outlook.com
This Privacy Policy explains how the Steam release of Aira / Meeting the World, called the Product, handles data. This English text is the sole operative version of this Privacy Policy. Any translation is provided only for convenience and has no independent legal effect. This Policy does not limit rights granted by applicable law. Steam services are also governed by Steam terms and the Steam Privacy Policy.
This Policy should be read with the End User License Agreement and Terms of Use. It describes the current Steam release boundaries. It does not state that every Product function is available in every country or region, and it does not replace a privacy notice from Steam or another independent service provider about that provider's own processing.
Section 1 - Local AI operation
The current Steam release uses bundled local AI models for chat, translation, and motion selection. It does not allow a player to enter, configure, or call a third-party AI API key. Local chat is not automatically sent to wmdm, Google, OpenAI, DeepSeek, or another third-party AI service because of the chat function itself.
If the User enables optional local text-to-speech, text and generated audio are processed in a managed local runtime environment. Performance, hardware compatibility, and availability can vary by device.
Section 2 - Data stored on the User device
The Product generally stores the following data in Aira-managed directories on the User device: interface language, appearance, speech settings, and other local settings; current chats and chat titles; User-created style prompt cards and downloaded Workshop cards; local motion-selection state, necessary online-session state, and rating cache; local error logs, diagnostic records, temporary cache, and diagnostic packages voluntarily exported by the User.
The current Steam release does not automatically infer, create, or inject a cross-conversation long-term cognition profile from a style prompt card. It does not include emotion AI, agency AI, or cognition AI roles.
Section 3 - Steam, online play, and Workshop
When the User uses Steam sign-in, online play, random matching, Workshop publication, subscription, download, rating, or reporting, Valve, Steam, and the Product may process data necessary for that function. This may include SteamID, session and matching state, public item metadata, subscription state, rating state, and messages voluntarily sent to the online counterpart.
Online messages may be translated or rewritten locally by a model and then sent with the original message to the other session participant. The User must not send personal information, passwords, keys, or confidential materials that the User does not want the other participant or Steam to process.
Workshop publication is limited to style prompt cards and an optional card cover image. Public item titles, descriptions, tags, card text, age-suitability selection, and cover images are handled according to Steam visibility and rules. Publishers should not include personal information, secrets, unlicensed material, or other information that should not be public.
To address Steam reports, User complaints, or routine public review, wmdm may inspect titles, descriptions, tags, card text, cover images, and public Steam metadata of published items. This review is used to decide whether distribution should be limited, an item should be removed, or other necessary action should be taken. The Product does not automatically read a User's unpublished local style prompt cards for this purpose.
An item marked adult displays a one-time self-confirmation before download. This confirmation is used only for the current action. It is not statutory age verification and is not saved as a permanent age profile.
Section 4 - Errors, diagnostics, and support
Error reports are stored locally by default to show Aira-style notices and create diagnostic packages voluntarily exported by a player. The current release has no endpoint that automatically uploads error reports to wmdm. If remote submission is added in the future, the Product will request the User's explicit consent before submission and update this Policy.
The User may send a self-exported diagnostic package to the support email. The User should first review the package and decide whether it contains personal data. Email data is handled only to the extent reasonably necessary to respond to a support request.
Section 5 - Purposes and recipients
The Product uses local data to provide chat, speech, motion, settings, Workshop, and online-play functions, as well as local error diagnosis and safety checks.
Data may be processed by Valve or Steam when a Steam function is used; by the online counterpart when the User voluntarily joins an online session and sends corresponding messages or session data; by wmdm when the User voluntarily sends a support request, diagnostic package, or other material, or when public Workshop material must be reviewed for a Steam report, complaint, or routine public review; and by a recipient with legal authority only where required by law or necessary to protect the User, the service, or another person.
The current release has no player-selected third-party AI API recipient.
Where applicable law requires a stated basis for processing, the Product processes local settings, chat, speech, motion, and cache to provide functions voluntarily used by the User. Steam sign-in, online play, Workshop, subscription, ratings, reporting, and safety information are processed to provide voluntarily enabled Steam functions, maintain Product safety, or comply with applicable law. Support emails and diagnostic packages voluntarily sent by the User are processed to respond to the User's request.
Section 6 - International processing and regional rights
The local chat function does not ordinarily send chat content to wmdm or a third-party AI service. When the User uses Steam functions or contacts the support email, data may be processed outside the User's country or region by Steam, the other session participant, or wmdm. International processing, retention, and safeguards are also subject to the terms and policies of Steam and the relevant recipient.
Where applicable law grants rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or complaint, the User may contact wmdm at wmdm314@outlook.com. The request should identify the relevant function, data type, and SteamID or other necessary identifying information. wmdm will handle a request to the extent required and permitted by applicable law. A request concerning data controlled by Steam or another independent provider should be made directly to that provider.
Section 7 - Retention, deletion, and choices
Local data is generally retained until the User deletes it, clears history, uses factory reset, uninstalls the Product, or manually removes the relevant managed data. Clear history and factory reset delete relevant local chats, settings, style cards, cache, and local data in Aira-managed directories. They do not delete original files outside Aira-managed directories and do not delete data processed by Steam.
Steam Workshop public items, subscription records, reporting records, and other Steam data are retained and deleted according to Steam rules. The User may use Steam tools to manage subscriptions, public items, or reports.
Section 8 - Security limitations
The Product uses managed directories, a fixed built-in Live2D avatar, Workshop type restrictions, path and structure validation, dangerous-file rejection, and limited explicit-risk text checks to reduce risk. Workshop and online play do not receive a new Live2D model, voice model, executable file, or script.
These measures do not guarantee absolute security and are not a complete content, copyright, factual, or age review. The User should use a strong password, protect Steam accounts and devices, and avoid publishing or sending sensitive information.
Section 9 - Children and minors
The Product is not an online service designed specifically for children and does not intentionally request children to submit personal information through the Product. A User below the minimum age under applicable local law should use the Product only where parental permission and applicable law allow. If wmdm lawfully learns that data directly controlled by wmdm concerns a minor whose data should not be processed, wmdm may take reasonable steps to restrict processing, delete the data, or request necessary parental assistance.
The User must comply with local, Steam, and applicable-law requirements concerning age and guardianship. The User must not upload, publish, or share a minor's personal information, private content, or unauthorized voice or likeness material. Workshop age-suitability selection and download self-confirmation do not replace parental supervision, Steam rules, or statutory age verification.
Section 10 - Policy updates and contact
wmdm may update this Policy for functionality, security, compliance, or Steam requirements. Material changes will be notified through a Product update, Steam page, or another reasonable channel when practicable.
Questions about this Policy, local data, or privacy may be sent to wmdm314@outlook.com.
