This policy explains what personal data Shole Soccer collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written for the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applies to all players regardless of where you live.
Who is responsible
Jarno Pasma, trading as One For Me Games
Oulu, Finland
Email: support@oneformegames.com
I am the data controller for the data described below. There is no separate data protection officer; write to the address above with any question or request.
What the game collects
1. Data needed to play online
Shole Soccer uses Unity Gaming Services (Authentication, Lobby and Relay) to connect players. This runs whenever you play a multiplayer match and can't be turned off, since the game can't connect you without it.
Data
- An anonymous player ID created by Unity Authentication.
- Your IP address.
- Session data: lobby ID, the display name you pick, your team, and your connection status.
Why
- The player ID identifies your game client within a match. It isn't tied to your name, email or Steam account.
- Your IP address is used to route match traffic through Unity Relay. Because traffic is relayed, other players never see your IP.
- Session data is used to run the lobby and the match itself.
Legal basis
All of the above is processed because it's necessary to provide the game you've chosen to play: performance of a contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b).
Note: other players in the lobby can see your display name, so pick one you're comfortable sharing. If you use your real name, they'll see it.
2. Optional gameplay analytics
If you turn analytics on, the game sends anonymous gameplay events through Unity Analytics — things like matches played, match length, goals scored, and basic technical information such as your platform, operating system version and approximate country. This helps me find bugs and balance the game.
This is off unless you choose to enable it, and you can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Withdrawing consent stops further collection; it does not affect data already collected.
3. What the game does not collect
No name, email address, postal address or phone number.
No payment or card details — your purchase is handled entirely by Valve on Steam.
No text or voice chat, because the game has none.
No player profiles or statistics stored on a server. Nothing about you persists between sessions.
No advertising, no ad networks, no profiling, and no sale of data to anyone.
Who else processes this data
Unity Technologies operates Authentication, Lobby, Relay and Analytics on my behalf, under Unity's data processing agreement. See the Unity player privacy policy.
Valve Corporation distributes the game and handles your purchase and Steam account under its own privacy policy. I do not receive your Steam account details.
These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved safeguard.
How long it is kept
Match and connection data exists only for the duration of the session and is discarded when the match ends.
Unity retains player IDs in lobby service logs for up to 30 days.
Analytics events, if you have opted in, are retained according to Unity's retention periods for the Analytics service.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and to object to processing. You can also withdraw analytics consent at any time in the game's settings.
To delete your data, go in-game to Settings → Privacy → Delete data. For any other request, email support@oneformegames.com and include the Unity player ID shown in the Privacy tab, so the right records can be located. I will respond within one month.
If you believe your data has been handled incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU/EEA country where you live, work, or where the issue occurred. A list of EU/EEA authorities is available from the European Data Protection Board: https://www.edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en
Children
Shole Soccer is not directed at children under 13. Analytics consent should only be given by a player aged 13 or over; in some countries a higher age applies, in which case a parent or guardian should decide. If you believe a child has enabled analytics without permission, contact me and I will delete the associated data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Significant changes will also be noted in the game's patch notes.
