Effective as of 16 October 2026
Background
(A) PLEASE READ THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT (THIS “AGREEMENT” OR THESE “EULA”) CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR USING SCAPE OR ANY GAME WITHIN SCAPE (THE “GAME”). THIS AGREEMENT IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU (“YOU,” “YOUR,” OR “PLAYER”) AND SCAPEWORLD ENTERTAINMENT AB, A COMPANY INCORPORATED IN SWEDEN WITH REGISTRATION NUMBER 559539-3348 (“SCAPEWORLD”, “WE,” “US,” OR “OUR”).
(B) BY CLICKING “I ACCEPT,” OR “ACCEPT”, BY INSTALLING THE GAME, OR BY ACCESSING OR USING THE GAME IN ANY WAY, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THIS AGREEMENT IN FULL, YOU MUST NOT INSTALL, ACCESS, OR USE THE GAME, AND YOU SHOULD UNINSTALL IT IMMEDIATELY AND, WHERE APPLICABLE, REQUEST A REFUND IN ACCORDANCE WITH STEAM'S REFUND POLICY.
(C) This Agreement governs your use of the Game and is in addition to, and not in place of, the Steam Subscriber Agreement and any other terms imposed by Valve Corporation (“Valve”) in connection with the Steam platform (the “Steam Terms”). If there is a direct conflict between this Agreement and the Steam Terms regarding the operation of the Steam platform itself, the Steam Terms will govern as to that conflict; in all other respects, this Agreement governs your relationship with ScapeWorld regarding the Game.
(D) You acknowledge having read our Privacy Policy https://scapethegame.com/privacy-policy which outlines what personal data we collect and how we process your personal data.
(E) We may update or amend this Agreement from time to time to comply with applicable law, regulatory requirements, or because we have introduced changes to the features of the Game. If we make any amendments to this Agreement that materially affects your rights, you will be given the opportunity to review any amendments to this Agreement and must agree to it in order to continue using the Game.
(F) You explicitly agree that these EULA apply to the initial releases of the Game, such as playtests, demos, beta access, early access and other limited releases (each an “Initial Release”), and that amended EULA may apply to subsequent releases of the Game. You must accept those subsequent EULA in order to continue accessing or using the Game.
(G) The “Game” means the video game software titled Scape and any game within Scape, including the client software, all related executable files, libraries, assets, audio, visual elements, source and object code, documentation, and any updates, patches, expansions, downloadable content, or new versions of the foregoing made available to you by ScapeWorld.
1. Initial Releases
1.1 The Game may initially be provided in limited or restricted versions, and some Initial Releases may only be available to eligible users. In order to use the Game, you need to meet any eligibility criteria and the minimum system requirements.
1.2 Where an Initial Release requires registration, you must register in the manner communicated to you. You agree to provide and maintain accurate and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and/or access codes secure and for any use of your account. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.
1.3 You hereby acknowledge that the Game shall not be deemed feature-complete or error-free, and that it will likely contain bugs, errors and inconveniences. Therefore, we make no promises as to the level of quality you will experience in an Initial Release. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide you with the support you need to use the Game.
1.4 ScapeWorld may develop and provide updates to the Game, which may include patches, bug fixes, new features, new versions, or complete replacements (“Updates”). You agree that ScapeWorld may update the Game automatically through Steam without further notice to you, and that this Agreement applies to all such Updates.
2. Age and Capacity
You represent that you are of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or that you are at least 13 years old and have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by this Agreement on your behalf. ScapeWorld does not knowingly permit children below the minimum age required by applicable local law to access the Game without verified parental consent.
3. Intellectual Property Rights
3.1 We, for ourselves and/or on behalf of our licensors, reserve, and you acknowledge and agree that we and/or our licensors, own all rights, title, and interest in and in relation to the Game, including all source code, object code, characters, environments, music, sound effects, dialogue, artwork, animations, the Scape name and logo, and all other elements of the Game (collectively, the “Game Materials”), and further including any intellectual property rights and other proprietary rights (and any copies thereof) which subsist in or around the Game, whether registered or not.
3.2 “Scape”, the Scape logo, and other ScapeWorld marks used in connection with the Game are trademarks or registered trademarks of ScapeWorld. Nothing in this Agreement grants you any right to use ScapeWorld's trademarks or trade dress.
3.3 All rights, title, and interest in and to any and all improvements, modifications, derivative works, and innovations of, to and/or involving the Game will be retained in full and owned by us and/or our licensors.
3.4 The Game is licensed to you, not sold. ScapeWorld and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Game, including all copies of it, except for the limited license expressly granted to you under this Agreement. Nothing in this Agreement transfers any ownership rights to you. All rights not expressly granted to you in this Agreement are reserved by ScapeWorld and its licensors.
3.5 The Game may be provided together with, or otherwise contain, certain third-party software such as open-source software as listed in the Game, each licensed to you under the respective third-party license agreement. By using the Game, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of each such third-party license. In the event of a conflict between the terms of an applicable open-source license and this Agreement, the terms and conditions of the open-source license shall prevail solely with respect to the applicable open-source software.
4. Our License to You
4.1 Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, we hereby grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferrable, non-sublicensable, non-assignable, restricted, and limited license to download and install one (1) copy of the Game for your own personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes, and solely through the Steam platform in accordance with this Agreement and the Steam Terms.
4.2 The Game may let you obtain in-game items, titles, cosmetics, rewards or other digital content (“In-Game Items”). Unless we expressly state otherwise, In-Game Items are licensed to you, not sold, under a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferrable and non-sublicensable license to use them within the Game and our other services. In-Game Items have no monetary value against us, and we do not redeem them for money. Account-bound In-Game Items cannot be sold, traded or transferred. Where we make In-Game Items tradable through the Steam Community Market or another marketplace we authorize, that trading is also governed by the terms of that marketplace. Nothing in this section affects any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law in relation to digital content you have paid for.
5. License Restrictions
Except as expressly permitted by this Agreement, applicable mandatory law, or by ScapeWorld in writing, you must not, and must not permit or assist any third party to:
(a) copy, reproduce, distribute, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the Game;
(b) modify, adapt or translate the Game, or create derivative works based on any part of the Game;
(c) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, decrypt, unmask, hack, emulate, exploit, tear-down, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, underlying ideas, algorithms, structure or organization of the Game, except to the extent such restriction is expressly prohibited by applicable mandatory law;
(d) remove, circumvent, disable, damage, or otherwise interfere with any security-related, anti-cheat, mechanisms or content-protection features of the Game;
(e) use any automated means (including bots, scripts, macros not expressly permitted, or third-party software) to access the Game, to play on your behalf, or to extract data from the Game;
(f) exploit any bug, glitch, or unintended design element for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage, disrupting other players' experience, or harming ScapeWorld's services;
(g) use the Game for any commercial purpose, competitive analysis, benchmarking, or to create a product or service competitive with the Game, including advertising, real-money trading of In-Game Items, except through a marketplace ScapeWorld operates or authorizes, such as the Steam Community Market, or operating a private or pirated server; or
(h) access or use the Game in any country or manner that would violate applicable export control or trade sanctions laws.
6. Your License to Us
6.1 By accessing, playing or using the Game, you grant ScapeWorld a perpetual, worldwide, fully paid-up, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, and non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for technical purposes such as formatting), display, perform, transmit, and distribute your gameplay and in-Game actions solely in connection with operating, providing, promoting, and improving the Game, including showcasing player-created content in marketing materials with appropriate attribution where reasonably practicable. The license expressly includes the right for ScapeWorld to use clips, screenshots, usernames, and other content in trailers, social media, and other promotional materials without further consent or compensation to you than the provision of the Game.
6.2 You hereby further grant us a perpetual, worldwide, fully paid-up, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable, and non-exclusive license to any suggestions, ideas feedback, comments, contributions, and other relevant input (collectively “Feedback”) that you choose to submit to us related to the Game through any channel, including any intellectual property rights, immediately and automatically upon submission without the need for further act, formality or instrument and without further compensation than our provision of the Game hereunder. Following such grant of license, you agree that we shall have the unrestricted right to use, modify, reproduce and copy, transfer, assign, license, sub-license, abandon or otherwise dispose of the Feedback for any purpose without obligation or compensation to you. You represent and warrant that you have the unrestricted right to grant us such license hereunder.
7. Online Conduct
7.1 The Game includes multiplayer functionality and may include chat and other features that allow you to communicate with other players. When using the Game, including chat, voice, and any other communication feature, you agree that you will not
(a) harass, threaten, stalk, scam, bully, defame, or abuse any other player or any ScapeWorld staff member;
(b) post, transmit, or display content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, obscene, or that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
(c) impersonate any person, including ScapeWorld staff or moderators, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
(d) share another player's personal information without consent, or solicit personal information from minors;
(e) cheat, use unauthorized third-party software, exploit bugs for competitive advantage, or otherwise compromise the integrity of multiplayer matches;
(f) advertise, solicit, or conduct commercial transactions unrelated to ScapeWorld's officially sanctioned features; or
(g) transmit malware, spam, or unsolicited bulk communications through the Game's chat or messaging features.
7.2 You acknowledge that ScapeWorld does not undertake to monitor chat or in-game communications in real time, but may, in its discretion, monitor, log, review, and moderate communications and gameplay (including through automated systems) to enforce this Agreement, ensure platform safety, investigate complaints, and comply with legal obligations. ScapeWorld may remove content, mute, suspend, or restrict your access to chat or multiplayer features, and may report illegal content to relevant authorities where required or appropriate.
7.3 ScapeWorld will review reports made regarding abusive conduct or content in good faith but does not guarantee any particular outcome or response time, except as required by applicable law.
7.4 You can report a player, a username or other content in the Game that you believe breaks this Agreement or is illegal by emailing hello@scapethegame.com with the username, what happened and when, or, where the Game offers it, through an in-game report function. Anyone, including people who do not play the Game, can notify us in the same way of content they consider illegal. We review reports by hand and may use automated tools, such as username filters. Depending on what we find, we may remove or rename content or usernames, mute a player, or suspend or terminate an account. When we act, we tell the player concerned, and the person who reported it, what we decided, why, and how to contest the decision, unless the law or a risk of harm to any person prevents us. You can contest a decision by replying to our message or emailing hello@scapethegame.com, and a person will review it.
7.5 Our point of contact for players and for public authorities under the EU Digital Services Act is hello@scapethegame.com. You can write to us in English or Swedish.
7.6 ScapeWorld is not responsible for the conduct of any player, in or outside the Game, and does not endorse any opinion expressed by a player. Your interactions with other players are at your own risk.
8. Term, Suspension and Termination
8.1 This Agreement is effective from the moment you first accept it and continues until terminated as set out in this Section.
8.2 You may terminate this Agreement at any time by ceasing all use of the Game and uninstalling it.
8.3 ScapeWorld may suspend or terminate your license, your account, or your access to all or part of the Game, with or without notice and without liability, if we in our sole discretion believe that: (a) you have materially breached this Agreement; (b) ScapeWorld is required to do so by law or by a competent authority; or (c) ScapeWorld discontinues the Game.
8.4 Upon termination of this Agreement for any reason, the license granted in Section 4 immediately ends, and you must cease all use of the Game and destroy or uninstall all copies in your possession or control. Sections of this Agreement that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 3 (Intellectual Property Rights), 6 (Your License to Us) 8.4, 9 (Modification and Discontinuation), 10 (Disclaimer), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and 12-15, will survive.
9. Modification and Discontinuation
9.1 You acknowledge that the Game is currently under development; hence, we reserve the right to, in our sole discretion, add, modify, disable or remove features, functionalities, information, and instructions related to the Game, and make any other changes, updates, or improvements to the Game as we deem fit. Any changes, modifications, improvements, updates, or releases etc. related to the Game shall, unless otherwise communicated by us, be subject to the same terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement. While we will do our best to maintain all data, we cannot guarantee that all data will be intact between updates and patches of the Game.
9.2 ScapeWorld may, in its discretion, discontinue offering the Game, in whole or in part, or shut down individual features at any time, with or without prior notice to you and without liability, and that discontinuation does not entitle you to any compensation, except as required by mandatory applicable law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
10.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED ON AN 'AS-IS' AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
10.2 NOTHING IN THIS SECTION EXCLUDES OR LIMITS ANY WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, OR OTHER RIGHT THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER THE LAWS APPLICABLE TO YOU.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScapeWorld will not be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Game, even if ScapeWorld has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11.2 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ScapeWorld's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to this Agreement or the Game will not exceed the higher of SEK 100 or the amount you have paid for the Game.
11.3 Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits ScapeWorld's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold ScapeWorld and its affiliates harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, and penalties, including reasonable attorney’s fees, as a result of your use, or arising out of or in any way connected with your breach of this Agreement or applicable law, ordinance, regulation, court order or other legal requirement, contractual obligations, intellectual property rights, or other rights of third parties.
13. Amendments
13.1 ScapeWorld may amend this Agreement from time to time to reflect changes in the Game, legal or regulatory requirements, or ScapeWorld's business practices.
13.2 Where changes are material, ScapeWorld will provide reasonable advance notice through the Game, the Steam store page, email (if you have provided one), or another reasonable channel, before the changes take effect. For non-material changes, ScapeWorld may update this Agreement without advance notice.
13.3 If you do not agree to a material change, you may terminate this Agreement in accordance with Section 8.2 before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Game after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Agreement, except where applicable law requires explicit re-acceptance, in which case ScapeWorld will request such acceptance.
14. Other Terms
14.1 Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with the documents it incorporates by reference, constitutes the entire agreement between you and ScapeWorld regarding the Game and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements regarding the same subject matter, except for the Steam Terms, which apply alongside this Agreement as described in Background (C).
14.2 Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or, if it cannot be so modified, severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14.3 No Waiver. ScapeWorld's failure to enforce any right or provision of this Agreement will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
14.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer this Agreement or any rights or obligations under it without ScapeWorld's prior written consent. ScapeWorld may assign this Agreement, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, internal reorganization, or sale of assets, without your consent.
14.5 Force Majeure. ScapeWorld will not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control which we could neither have reasonably foreseen nor overcome.
14.6 Prevailing Language. This Agreement is made available in English and may be translated into other languages for your convenience. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the English-language version and any translation, the English-language version shall govern, prevail and take precedence. Translations are provided as a courtesy only and do not constitute separate agreements. ScapeWorld does not warrant that any translation is complete, accurate, or up to date.
14.7 Export Compliance. You agree to comply with all applicable export control and economic sanctions laws and regulations in connection with your use of the Game.
14.8 Consumer Rights. If you are a consumer, nothing in this Agreement limits or excludes any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract, including rights in relation to digital content you have paid for.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
15.1 This Agreement is governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live.
15.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement that is not resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Stockholm District Court in Stockholm, Sweden. If you are a consumer and mandatory law in the country where you live gives you the right to bring or defend proceedings in its courts, nothing in this section takes that right away.

(a) copy, reproduce, distribute, rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or otherwise transfer the Game;
(b) modify, adapt or translate the Game, or create derivative works based on any part of the Game;

(e) use any automated means (including bots, scripts, macros not expressly permitted, or third-party software) to access the Game, to play on your behalf, or to extract data from the Game;
(f) exploit any bug, glitch, or unintended design element for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage, disrupting other players' experience, or harming ScapeWorld's services;
When using the Game, including chat, voice, and any other communication feature, you agree that you will not
(a) harass, threaten, stalk, scam, bully, defame, or abuse any other player or any ScapeWorld staff member;
(b) post, transmit, or display content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, obscene, or that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
(c) impersonate any person, including ScapeWorld staff or moderators, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
(d) share another player's personal information without consent, or solicit personal information from minors;
(e) cheat, use unauthorized third-party software, exploit bugs for competitive advantage, or otherwise compromise the integrity of multiplayer matches;
