Irregular Earnings End User License Agreement
Introduction and Acceptance
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you and Stockdog Studios ("we", "us", "our") covering the video game Irregular Earnings, including its software, content, updates, patches, and online features (together, the "Game").
By installing, launching, or playing the Game, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or play the Game.
You obtained the Game through Steam, operated by Valve Corporation. The Steam Subscriber Agreement ("SSA") also applies to your use of the Game. Where this Agreement and the SSA conflict, the SSA controls. Valve is not a party to this Agreement and is not responsible for the Game.
License Grant and Restrictions
The Game is licensed to you, not sold. As long as you follow this Agreement and the SSA, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment.
Except where this Agreement or applicable law expressly allows it, you may not:
- Copy, sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense, or distribute the Game or any part of it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Game, or try to extract its source code. This does not apply where the law allows it despite this restriction, or to the open-source components in Section 11, which are governed by their own licenses.
- Modify the Game's executable files, or create, use, sell, or distribute cheats, bots, automation tools, exploits, or any software that gives an unfair advantage or interferes with other players (see Section 6).
- Bypass, disable, or interfere with any security, anti-cheat, rate-limiting, or access-control feature of the Game.
- Use the Game, or anything taken from it, to train or build artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Use the Game for any commercial purpose, such as charging admission to play it or running paid servers, without our written permission. Streaming and videos are covered in Section 3.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other notice in the Game.
- Use the Game in any way that breaks the law.
Ownership and Intellectual Property
We and our licensors own the Game and all rights in it, including its code, art, models, sounds, music, text, characters, names, and the "Irregular Earnings" name and logo. This license gives you no ownership of any of it. We reserve every right not expressly granted to you.
Videos and streams. You may stream the Game and post videos and screenshots of it, including monetized ones on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch, as long as you:
- add meaningful content of your own, such as gameplay or commentary, rather than just reposting our trailers or assets;
- do not imply that we endorse you or your content; and
- remove the content if we ask you to for a good reason, such as content that is harmful or misleading.
We may withdraw or change this permission at any time.
Online Play and Player-Hosted Sessions
The Game is played online. Players host the game sessions themselves, on their own computers. We do not run game servers and do not watch, moderate, or control what happens in any session.
- Connections go through Steam. Players find and join sessions through Steam, and game traffic is carried by Steam's networking services, which may route it through Valve's relay servers. Depending on the route Steam chooses, other players in a session may be able to learn your IP address; we do not control this. Do not host or join sessions with people you do not trust. You are responsible for securing your own computer and network.
- Hosts. A host decides who may join and may kick or mute players, and is responsible for how they use the Game's host features. Hosts may not charge others to join without our written permission.
- No guaranteed service. Online features depend on players, networks, and third-party services such as Steam. We do not guarantee that any session, feature, or online service will be available, uninterrupted, or free of lag, bugs, or data loss, or that it will keep working in the future.
- Joining unknown hosts. The Game includes protections against harmful hosts, but no protection is perfect. We are not responsible for the conduct of any host or player.
Voice and Text Chat
The Game has proximity voice chat and text chat, and calls made over in-game phones carry voice and text too.
- Your microphone is open by default. Voice activation is on when you start, so other players near you in the game can hear what your microphone picks up. You can switch to push to talk, choose a different microphone, or turn the microphone off under Options > Audio.
- Voice is passed between players. Your voice and chat messages travel over Steam's networking, through the host's computer, to other players. We do not record or store voice or chat. The host's computer and other players' computers receive them, however, and other players may record them with their own software without our knowledge.
- You are responsible for what you say. Chat is not moderated by us. You can mute any player for yourself, and hosts can mute players for everyone.
- Children. If you are a parent or guardian, be aware that the Game lets players talk to strangers by voice and text.
Code of Conduct and Cheating
In-game crime is part of the Game: you may rob, betray, and fight other players' characters within the Game's rules. Real-world harm is not allowed. While using the Game, you may not:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or bully anyone, or encourage anyone to harm themselves.
- Post or say hateful content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or similar traits.
- Share anyone's personal information (doxxing), including IP addresses learned through the Game.
- Share sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal where you or the recipient live.
- Impersonate us, our staff, or another person.
- Use cheats, bots, aimbots, wallhacks, modified clients, packet manipulation, or exploits, or deliberately abuse bugs to gain an advantage or disrupt other players.
- Attack, overload, or disrupt any player's session, computer, or network, for example with denial-of-service attacks or flooding.
- Spam, advertise, or scam other players, including through real-money trading.
Enforcement. If we believe you have broken this section, we may, without notice and as far as the law allows, warn you, restrict your access to online features, or end your license under Section 12. We may also report illegal activity to the authorities. Hosts may enforce their own rules in their own sessions.
Virtual Items and In-Game Money
The Game contains in-game money, items, vehicles, and other virtual items ("Virtual Items"). Virtual Items are part of the Game's content and have no real-world monetary value. You do not own them, and they are not your property.
- Virtual Items cannot be exchanged for real money, goods, or services, and may not be sold, bought, or traded for value outside the Game.
- Virtual Items may be lost, reset, or removed at any time, for example when a session or round ends, when you die in the Game, when a host closes their session, or when we update the Game. We are not liable for any such loss.
- We have no obligation to restore Virtual Items for any reason.
Mods, User Content, and Feedback
Mods. Unless we publish separate mod rules, you may not distribute modified versions of the Game or mods that change multiplayer gameplay or give players an advantage. Any mods we allow are used at your own risk, are not supported by us, and may stop working after an update. Mods may not include content that breaks Section 6 or infringes anyone's rights.
User content. "User Content" is anything you create or share through the Game, including your player name, chat messages, voice, maps, and mods. You keep any rights you have in your User Content. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, copy, modify, display, and distribute it in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the Game. You confirm that you have the rights needed to grant this license. We may remove or block User Content and player names at our discretion.
Feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions, or bug reports, we may use them for any purpose without paying or crediting you.
Mature Content, Age, and Health
Mature content. The Game is intended for adults. It contains realistic violence, blood and gore, dismemberment, crime, guns and other weapons, depictions of drug and tobacco use, crude humor including bodily functions, and unmoderated online interaction with strangers. The Game is fiction and does not endorse any of these things in real life.
Age. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to accept this Agreement. A minor may play only with the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts this Agreement on their behalf and supervises their use of the Game, including its voice and text chat.
Health. A small number of people may have seizures when exposed to flashing lights or patterns, including in video games. If you or anyone in your family has had seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing. Stop playing at once and seek medical advice if you experience dizziness, altered vision, twitching, convulsions, disorientation, or loss of awareness. Take regular breaks.
Updates, Early Access, and Privacy
Updates. We may update, patch, change, or remove any part of the Game at any time, including features, content, balance, and Virtual Items. Updates may be installed automatically through Steam. Older versions may stop working online, because players must run compatible versions to play together.
Early Access and testing. If the Game is in Early Access, or you are playing a test build, it is unfinished. Expect bugs, crashes, missing features, balance changes, and resets of progress or Virtual Items. We do not promise that any planned feature will be released or that the Game will ever leave Early Access.
Privacy. We do not run game servers, and the Game does not send us your personal data during play. Other players' computers do receive some of your data, as described in Sections 4 and 5: your Steam name and profile, player name, voice, chat, and possibly your IP address. Steam collects data, including the data its networking and matchmaking use, under Valve's own privacy policy. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full and forms part of this Agreement.
Third-Party and Open-Source Components
The Game includes software and assets licensed from third parties, including open-source software. Each is governed by its own license, which applies instead of this Agreement where they conflict and may give you additional rights. Notices for these components are included with the Game. They include:
- Godot Engine, © Juan Linietsky, Ariel Manzur and Godot Engine contributors, under the MIT License;
- TwoVoIP, the voice chat add-on for Godot, under its own license;
- Opus audio codec, under the BSD 3-Clause License;
- RNNoise noise suppression, under the BSD 3-Clause License;
- .NET runtime, © .NET Foundation, under the MIT License.
Other than those licenses, third-party components are provided as-is, and we make no promises about them.
Termination
This Agreement lasts until it is ended. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the Game and deleting all copies of it.
We may end or suspend your license, or your access to online features, if you materially break this Agreement or the SSA, or if the law requires it. When it ends, you must stop using the Game and delete all copies. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as the SSA, Steam's refund policy, or applicable law provides.
Sections 3, 7, 8 (the licenses you grant us), 11, 13, 14, and any other terms that by their nature should survive, continue after this Agreement ends.
Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnity
Disclaimer of warranties. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL WORK WITH YOUR HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE. YOU USE THE GAME, INCLUDING ITS ONLINE FEATURES AND ANY SESSION HOSTED BY ANOTHER PLAYER, AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Limitation of liability. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR VIRTUAL ITEMS, OR FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER, ARISING FROM THE GAME OR THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF OTHER PLAYERS OR HOSTS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE GAME.
Your legal rights. Some places do not allow some of the exclusions or limits above, for example on implied warranties or on liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or gross negligence. In those places, those exclusions and limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in this Agreement limits any right you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
Indemnity. As far as the law allows, you agree to defend and compensate us against any claims, losses, and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of this Agreement or your misuse of the Game, including your User Content and your conduct towards other players.
Governing Law, Disputes, and General Terms
Governing law. This Agreement is governed by applicable law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of your own country.
Disputes. Before starting any legal claim, please contact us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Disputes that are not resolved will be heard by the courts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
Export and sanctions. You confirm that you are not barred from receiving the Game under the export or sanctions laws of any applicable country.
Changes to this Agreement. We may change this Agreement from time to time. We will post the new version on the Game's Steam page or show it in the Game, with the date it was last updated. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it. If you do not accept a change, stop playing and uninstall the Game.
General.
- Entire agreement. This Agreement, the Privacy Policy, and the SSA are the entire agreement between you and us about the Game.
- Severability. If any part of this Agreement is found unenforceable, it is limited only as far as needed, and the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer this Agreement. We may transfer it, for example if the Game is sold to another company.
- Language. If this Agreement is translated, the English version controls where the law allows.
- add meaningful content of your own, such as gameplay or commentary, rather than just reposting our trailers or assets;

- Godot Engine, © Juan Linietsky, Ariel Manzur and Godot Engine contributors, under the MIT License;
- TwoVoIP, the voice chat add-on for Godot, under its own license;
- Opus audio codec, under the BSD 3-Clause License;
- RNNoise noise suppression, under the BSD 3-Clause License;
