This End User License Agreement (the "Agreement") is between you and Hamuno ("we", "us"), the maker and publisher of MORTUUS (the "Game"), including its demo and updates. The Game is distributed through Steam.

Your right to install and use the Game is granted under the Steam Subscriber Agreement between you and Valve. These terms are the additional rules for the Game that the Steam Subscriber Agreement allows a game to have. They apply between you and us, alongside the Steam Subscriber Agreement. They do not change your agreement with Valve, and if the two conflict on anything about Steam or Valve, the Steam Subscriber Agreement applies.

By installing or playing the Game, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or play the Game.

1. Ownership

We and our licensors own the Game, including its code, art, sound, music and names. Using the Game does not give you ownership of any of it.

2. Updates

The Game may be updated through Steam to fix problems, change or add content, rebalance gameplay or improve security.

3. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and we will announce significant changes on the Game's Steam page. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop playing the Game.

4. General

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later.

5. No warranty, and limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, the Game and its online features are provided "as is" and "as available", without promises that they will be free of bugs or always available, and we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for lost progress or data.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived, or limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

6. Online features

Some features need an internet connection and online services, such as co-op, lobbies, chat, stats and cloud saves. We may change, pause or stop online features, for example for maintenance or security, or when a feature is no longer supported.

7. Videos, streams and screenshots

You may stream the Game and share videos and screenshots of it, including content you earn money from, as long as you do not suggest that your content is official or made by us.

8. Your content

Things you create or share through the Game, such as maps, names and messages, remain yours. You allow us to host, store, display and share them as needed to run the Game's features. Maps published to the Steam Workshop are also covered by Steam's terms. You must have the right to share anything you share. We may remove or hide content from the Game if it breaks these terms.

9. What you may not do

You may not, and may not help or encourage anyone else to:

  1. Tamper with the Game. Modify, patch, or inject code into the Game's files, memory or network traffic. For example: mod loaders and code injectors (such as MelonLoader or BepInEx), trainers, memory editors (such as Cheat Engine), or edited save or progress data.
  2. Cheat. Use any software, hardware or method to gain an unfair advantage or to change scores, progress, currency or other game values.
  3. Get around our protection. Disable, bypass, or interfere with the Game's anti-cheat, anti-tamper or copy protection.
  4. Reverse engineer the Game, except where the law that applies to you allows it.
  5. Pirate the Game, including by using cracks or Steam emulators, or by sharing copies of the Game.
  6. Abuse bugs or automate play. Deliberately use bugs or exploits to gain an advantage, change scores or progress, or disrupt other players, or use bots or scripts to play for you. If you find a bug like this, please report it to us.
  7. Ruin the online experience. Harass, threaten or impersonate other players, deliberately disrupt matches you join, or share illegal, hateful or sexual content through the Game, including text and voice chat.
  8. Attack our services. Overload, disrupt or try to gain unauthorized access to our servers, other online services used by the Game, or other players' connections.

The Steam Subscriber Agreement has its own rules on cheating and online conduct, and those also apply.

10. Anti-cheat and anti-tamper

The Game checks for tampering and cheating, as described in our privacy policy (section 12). If it detects software that modifies the Game, it may refuse to run or close itself, and it may send us a report linked to your Steam ID. We may also review gameplay data, such as impossible scores or progress, to find cheating.

11. Enforcement

We reserve the right to act against anyone we reasonably believe has broken these terms or the Steam Subscriber Agreement's rules on cheating and conduct. Depending on what happened, we may:

  • warn you;
  • remove or reset your scores, stats or in-game progress;
  • remove you from, or block you from, multiplayer, co-op, lobbies, leaderboards or other online features of the Game, for a period of time or permanently;
  • report you to Valve, who may take action under the Steam Subscriber Agreement.

We may act without warning where needed, for example to protect other players or our services. Using another Steam account to get around a block is also a breach of these terms.

If you think we have acted against you by mistake, email us at hamunoobusiness@gmail.com with your Steam ID and an explanation, and we will review it.

Refunds of the Game are handled by Steam under Steam's refund policy.
