Developer/Publisher: Jeffrey James Games
Platform: Steam (Valve Corporation)
Effective Date: Sept 25, 2026
Document Version: 1.1

IMPORTANT LEGAL NOTICE
PLEASE READ THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT AND TERMS OF SERVICE ("AGREEMENT") CAREFULLY BEFORE PLAYING QUEEN’S COURT: A DUEL OF DIGNITARIES ("THE GAME"). BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE GAME, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT AND VALVE CORPORATION'S STEAM SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT AND COMMUNITY GUIDELINES. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT PLAY AND UNINSTALL THE GAME.

1. Relation to Steam Subscriber Agreement & Community Guidelines
This Agreement governs your use of the Game and operates in addition to, and fully aligned with, the Steam Subscriber Agreement (SSA) and the Steam Online Conduct Rules / Community Guidelines provided by Valve Corporation. By accessing online features or in-game communication channels in the Game, you agree to comply with all applicable Steam platform rules. In the event of any direct conflict between the provisions of this Agreement and the SSA regarding account administration, platform subscription, or billing through Steam, the Steam Subscriber Agreement shall take precedence.

2. Grant of Limited License
Subject to your continuous compliance with all terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Developer grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and play one (1) copy of the Game on your personal computer or steam-supported device strictly for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

3. Ownership & Intellectual Property
The Game is licensed, not sold, to you. The Developer retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the Game, including without limitation:
* Software & Code: All source code, object code, executable files, algorithms, and technical framework.
* Artistic & Audio Assets: All visual artwork, user interfaces, character designs, cards, dignitary illustrations, animations, audio recordings, music tracks, and sound effects.
* Lore & Intellectual Property: All titles, character names, dialogue, storylines, lore, trademarks, logos, and trade secrets associated with Queen’s Court: A Duel of Dignitaries.
You acknowledge that no ownership rights or title in or to the Game are being transferred to you under this Agreement.

4. Restrictions on Use
You agree that you will not, directly or indirectly, perform or assist any third party in performing any of the following restricted actions:
* Reverse Engineering: Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, decrypt, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying structure of the Game, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
* Commercial Exploitation: Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, distribute, host, or exploit the Game or any part thereof for commercial gain without express written authorization from the Developer.
* Cheating & Automation: Create, distribute, or use unauthorized third-party software, bots, hacks, scripts, macros, or mods intended to modify gameplay, automate actions, or secure an unfair competitive advantage.
* Proprietary Markings: Remove, alter, or obscure any legal, trademark, copyright, or proprietary notices embedded within the Game.

5. In-Game Economy, Rank Points, and Virtual Goods

5.1 Nature of Rank Points and Virtual Items
The Game includes virtual progression metrics, specifically "Rank Points," alongside virtual items such as icons, medals, cosmetics, badges, and titles ("Virtual Goods"). Rank Points and Virtual Goods are licensed features, not property. They possess no real-world monetary value, do not constitute legal tender or real currency, and cannot be redeemed, sold, refunded, or exchanged for real money, goods, or services outside the Game. Rank Points and Virtual Goods are strictly non-transferable and may not be traded or sold on third-party platforms.

5.2 Match Mechanics, Entry Antes, and Disconnect Rules
* Room Entry Antes: Designated competitive modes or game rooms require a non-refundable "ante" or deduction of Rank Points as an entry requirement. Upon entering such a room, the required Rank Points are immediately deducted from your balance.
* Match Completion: Rank Point rewards, adjustments, and match rewards are calculated and awarded exclusively upon the full, valid completion of a game match.
* Early Departure & Disconnection Penalties: Quitting a match prior to its natural conclusion—whether via intentional surrender, closing the client, Alt+F4, network loss, system crash, or server disconnection—will result in the automatic forfeiture of your entry ante and may incur additional Rank Point penalties. The Developer is under no obligation to restore or credit Rank Points lost due to system crashes or network disconnections.

5.3 In-Game Challenges, Bugs, and Balance Adjustments
In-game challenges, achievements, and Rank Point award mechanisms are provided on an "AS IS" basis. While reasonable efforts are made to ensure accurate tracking, we do not guarantee that challenge progression or point calculations will be error-free or uninterrupted. In the event of technical bugs, glitches, server rollbacks, or exploit abuse, the Developer reserves the right to recalculate, reset, modify, or revoke any player's Rank Point balance or unlocked Virtual Goods without prior notice or liability.

6. In-Game Chat Platform, Online Conduct, and Safety Standards

6.1 Steam Chat Infrastructure & Alignment
The Game integrates and utilizes Valve Corporation's Steam Chat Infrastructure to facilitate text and/or voice communications among players. All communications transmitted through the Game are subject to Valve's Steam Online Conduct rules and Steam Community Rules & Guidelines, as well as this Agreement.

6.2 Zero-Tolerance Policy on Abusive Language and Behavior
We are committed to maintaining a safe, fair, and respectful community for all players of Queen’s Court: A Duel of Dignitaries. Abusive language and harmful conduct are strictly prohibited. You agree that you will NOT use the in-game chat or communication features to:
* Hate Speech & Harassment: Transmit, post, or share content that promotes discrimination, hatred, violence, slurs, or harassment based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
* Abusive Language & Toxicity: Engage in profanity, severe vulgarity, personal attacks, intimidation, bullying, threat of violence, or persistent griefing targeting other players.
* Inappropriate & Illegal Content: Share sexually explicit, obscene, defamatory, libellous, or illegal materials, or promote unlawful activities.
* Doxxing & Privacy Violations: Publish, solicit, or reveal personally identifiable information (PII) of any player or individual without their express consent.
* Spam & Commercial Solicitation: Engage in chat spamming, phishing, advertising, selling accounts, or promoting external third-party services or real-money trading (RMT).
* Impersonation: Impersonate Developer representatives, Valve employees, moderators, or other players.

6.3 Moderation, Reporting, and Enforcement Rights
* Player Reporting: Players may utilize integrated Steam reporting tools or in-game reporting mechanisms to flag abusive communications or violations of player conduct.
* Enforcement & Sanctions: The Developer and/or Valve Corporation reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to investigate reported violations and enforce disciplinary actions. Sanctions may include, without limitation: issuing formal warnings, temporarily or permanently muting/restricting chat privileges, revoking competitive rank points, suspending online matchmaking access, or permanently banning your Steam account from accessing online features of the Game.
* Escalation to Valve: Severe violations—including credible threats of violence, hate speech, or illegal activities—may be reported directly to Valve Corporation for account-level sanctions under the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
* No Refunds for Banned Accounts: Termination of chat access or suspension from online features due to conduct violations does not entitle you to any refund, credit, or reimbursement for the Game or any virtual items.

7. User Content and Feedback
If you submit any suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, or feedback ("Feedback") to the Developer, you hereby grant the Developer a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, implement, modify, and commercialize such Feedback without obligation or compensation to you.

8. Updates, Patches, and Online Availability
The Developer may deploy patches, balance updates, bug fixes, or enhancements ("Updates") at any time, which may be mandatory to continue playing the Game. For features requiring online connectivity, the Developer does not guarantee perpetual server uptime and reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue online services with reasonable advance notice where feasible.

9. Purchases, Pricing & Refunds
All monetary transactions, game purchases, and pricing are managed exclusively through Valve Corporation and the Steam Store. All requests for refunds are governed strictly by the Steam Refund Policy.

10. Termination
This Agreement remains effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically and immediately without notice if you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the Game and uninstall all copies from your devices.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE DEVELOPER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS.

12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE GAME.
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE ACTUAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE GAME ON STEAM.

13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and successors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your breach of this Agreement or your misuse of the Game.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada / Ontario, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law. You agree to submit to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the courts located within Toronto for the resolution of all disputes.

15. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
